That ought to be simple. That ought to be basic. Texas Senator Ted Cruz with KTRH is Sean Hannity as the Senate votes 51 to 48 to open debate on the Save America Act. Alaska Republican Senator Lisa McCouty voted with Democrats to block debate. North Carolina Republican Thom Tillis missed the vote altogether. Republicans say public opinion is on their side. According to a Pew Research poll, 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats favor requiring all voters to show government-issued photo ID to vote. That's Bill Malugian on Capitol Hill. Democrats also continue to keep DHS shut down and said nothing about anti-ice protesters blocking agents last month in Boston. from arresting a suspected child rapist. Chuck Schumer out there is saying that ISIS terrorizing communities? No, the people were arresting our terrorizing communities. And that's why we're out there putting our lives online to arrest these people and take them off the street and make this country safer again. Borders are Tom Homan there. The man was arrested last week. Looking at the airports this morning, delays building at Bush with 21 plus 10 cancellations so far. Minimal delays in cancellations at Hobby. But Louisiana, Congressman Steve Sully, says not every airport is smooth sailing.

At my home airport in New Orleans, you had lines wrapped around the airport all the way into the parking garage. People waiting over three hours and missing flights because Democrats want to have yet another tantrum. TSA agents aren't getting paid, so they're calling in sick. But the mainstream media is only spending 8% of its time blaming Democrats for the current situation. TSA lines are growing again. In Salt Lake, nine-year TSA veteran Robert Etchavaria quit this month, not willing to repeat the stress from last fall when officers worked without three paychecks. At NBC report never mentioned the fact that Democrats have voted against reopening DHS consistently for well over a month. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warning the mainstream media that if they don't clean up their fake news, they could lose their broadcasting license. This is likely an attempt by Chairman Carr to pressure mainstream media into objectivity. We want the media to be responsive to the news and not create news. They should be researching stories. They should be putting facts out. Republican strategist Bobby Eberley says the free market might end up solving this problem before Carr does. You're seeing the age with the independent journalists of actual better fact checking. I think that helps keep the journalists in line. Everley did say that he doesn't actually expect any licenses to be revoked. and thinks this is really just a warning. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. It's now 504. If we left right now, it would take 10 years for them to rebuild, but we're not ready to leave yet. President Trump on Operation Epic Fury strikes continuing inside Tehran by Israeli forces. The IDF also going after Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Current and former administration officials are pushing back after the National Terrorism Center director Joe Kent resigned claiming that Iran was not an imminent threat. Former FBI deputy director, Dan Bongino. That doesn't mean that this current opinion is any more fact-based because it's not. I read probably a lot more intelligence than he did. DNI Tulsi Gabbard also backed the White House and will testify for the Senate Intelligence Committee later today. Oil futures this morning are nowhere near the $100 we saw earlier this week now at $94.87 a barrel. Gas prices at $3.40 still, that's less than the $5.5 we were paying four years ago when Joe Biden was in the White House. 505, an Obama-appointed judge extends the deadline to apply for the Texas school choice program until the end of March, calling the exclusion of Islamic schools, the subject of a lawsuit, quote, troubling. Some schools have ties to the Council on American Islamic Relations designated by the governor, Greg Abbott, as a foreign terrorist organization. Meantime, the Klein ISD is adding additional security measures after three gun-related incidents last week. When it happens in your child school, it's a completely different feeling, a whole other level of terror.

That parent with our TV partner channel 2, two of the cases involved students who brought guns into school. Harris County District Attorney is now claiming, Sean Tier is now claiming that a problem plaguing the criminal courts for years has been resolved. The backlog. is officially over. But has it? Tear says 83% of cases are now resolved in less than a year. But a televised report last night said thousands of cases are taking longer than a year to make it through the legal system. So we're going to dig into this and have more tomorrow on Houston's morning news. A police chase in Texas City ends in a deadly crash yesterday afternoon. The driver died at the scene after losing control. Three other people were hospitalized. Multiple agencies are still investigating. The Texas Longhorns beat NC State in the NCAA tournament's first four, 68 to 66. They'll play BYU in round one tomorrow in Portland. Turns out a hug does a lot more than make you feel love. Scientists say that hugging can help lower cortisol, which is the body's main stress hormone. It can even calm your heart rate and reduce blood pressure. Well, I can think of all kinds of things that can do that that involve hugging somebody. Some research also suggest people get hug more, handle stress better, and that hugs release oxytocin, which is often called the love hormone, that helps you feel safe and supported. Never underestimate the power of a hug. But please make sure they're consensual. Oh, yes, they could be strong. Because that is not looking good in the U.S. Senate, and Senator John Thune has all kinds of excuses. This is rather long clip, but I wanted to share this with you because he covers a lot of ground on where the problems lie and getting this passed. Well, we'll see. I mean, we're looking at how to do that. There are other pieces of the Save America Act. In addition to those two, those are the two that passed the House. The president has also introduced the idea of mail-in voting, and so we've got some reform. and modifications to that. There's also the issue of whether or not biological males ought to be able to compete in girls' sports. There is the transgender surgery issue. Those are all issues on which I think most Americans, at least if they're Americans who are applying common sense. vote for and support in very big numbers. The only folks who don't support it appears at least at the moment are Democrats in the Senate. But we'll see if that changes over the course of time. What I've said all along, Brett, is that what we will do is we will guarantee a debate on this issue. Obviously, it's a big priority for the president. There are a lot of people across the country who want to see this voted on, and we will guarantee a vote at the end of that, and we'll see where people stand. I don't want to dwell on this too much, but some of your colleagues say the talking filibuster is the way to go. Here's the Utah. Republican Senator Mike Lee. This is something that 85% of the American people want. So if a small handful of Democratic lawmakers want to interfere with the will of the American people, let them earn it. Make them speak, make them stand on the Senate floor and explain why in front of all the American people. They won't last very long. This is something that we can do without changing a single rule or a single precedent. And it's something that we must do in this instance. Why in specific detail? Are you convinced that a talking filibuster doesn't work? Well, first off and foremost, because we're not the votes for it. And that's, again, it's a simple function of the math in the Senate. It would take even a talking filibuster, it would take 51 votes. We don't have 51 votes for that in the United States Senate. But why is that? Why are the public and colleagues not going to force the issue? The president's obviously putting his foot here saying this is the most important thing that needs to come out of this Congress. Right. And I know people don't like to hear this, but the talking. filibuster, you know, it takes you back kind of basically to the 1800s. You go back to the 19th century and the way things were done in the Senate. And we can't find an example in modern Senate history where a piece of legislation passed via the talking filibuster. But in the meantime, what it does do is... But he would say if they got tired and exhausted, it would be 51 votes. It would be at 51 votes. But between now and then, and you're talking about unlimited debate, and any time an amendment, for example, is offered and fails, if it gets tabled, you start all over. You reset it.

the clock. And it really favors the minority. When Harry Reid was the majority leader, Democrat leader in the Senate, same thing with Chuck Schumer. They both looked at doing this and opted against it. What it would force us to do in the Senate is vote on all kinds of Democrat amendments, whether it's Epstein or blocking President Trump's tariffs or, you know, Obamacare subsidies. You can go right down the list, war powers, abortion. There are a whole bunch of votes that would be that we would be forced to take not only really hard political votes for a lot of our colleagues, but also votes that in the end, some of which would pass. and go on the bill. And once issues like that are attached to this bill... It's a poison pill. It's a poison pill. So we've looked at, believe me, we've shopped this out, we've gamed it out, we've done all the contingencies and said, is there a way in the end that we can get an outcome? Because to me, that's what it's about. If you can achieve a policy outcome, yeah, then the process we're willing to look at. But in the end, this is about really having a debate about the substance and the substance of this bill is whether or not... People who are in this country illegally, non-citizens ought to be able to vote in American election. Yep. By the way, it's sort of a sideline here. And Cliff is going to cover during our newscast coming up here in the next five minutes or so. And that is that yesterday the deadline came and went for dropping out of the runoff. And Ken Paxton is still in the race. And President Trump has not endorsed anybody in the race. So Ken Paxton supporters, you should know he's going to be available there for you to vote for him. Sunshine was the afternoon. Iran was building up ballistic missiles at such a rapid pace, and we knew that their plan was to fire them upon Americans. Friday loaded mid-80s and upper 80s for this weekend. I'm meteorologist Scott Laramore at the Weather Channel. House Speaker Mike Johnson there, apparently. The Israelis took out another two members of Iran's senior leadership. The Iranians respond. Both of these attacks are cluster bombs delivered by Iranian missiles. They break up in the sky over Tel Aviv and drop dozens of bomblets. Those bomblets get through the air defenses. Two of them came down in an area called Ramat Gan and killed a couple people in their 70s by shrapnel. This happened after Israel killed two key players from what remains of the Iranian leadership. Fox is Mike Tobin from Tel Aviv. As if we needed more proof that TDS is real, new polling by the liberal Washington Post shows that the answers completely change when President Donald Trump's name is involved. It's unfortunate, but I don't believe any polls. It's now polls have become narrative makers, and whoever's doing the poll can get the result that they want. I just don't trust any of them anymore. Republican strategist Matt Locke says the poll found that more people support Operation Epic Fury when Trump's name isn't mentioned. New Rasmus in polling shows that 61% of likely voters say the U.S. has been successful so far in Iran. 35% describe it as very successful. And then there's this new research showing that Lake Night hosts like Kimmel and Stephen Colbert mocked the U.S. 94% of the time over the last three weeks.

They cracked jokes, ignoring the human costs, and it's just what we expect now. And it's not helpful to the political sphere here in the United States, and none of this sick humor was happening when Obama and his administration were bombing Libya. Jeff McCall of DePaul University says this is purely political, and they've morphed into something they were never meant to be. I think they view themselves now more as political activists who happen to deliver a comedic punchline once in a while, more than comedians who are just trying to provide entertainment. The last thing we need is them trying to analyze policy and influence the public. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTRH. 534 now. Oil futures this morning down to $94.80. That is down from the $100 a barrel we saw earlier this week. Rare earth minerals have become increasingly critical. And we rely on China for a lot of what we use. As it turns out, there's a big deposit of these minerals right here in Texas. We think that this deposit is going to be worth billions of dollars. There are 17 rare earth minerals. We have 15 of them. The quote, these are the ones that are most rare. That's what we're most rich in. That's why this deposit is so incredibly important. Texas General Land Office Commissioner Dr. Don Buckingham says the Trump administration has already invested over a billion dollars in processing these minerals. A major deadline came and went yesterday with no action from Austin or Washington, D.C. President Trump promised to endorse either Senator John Cornyn or Ken Paxton and one of the other to drop out. But the deadline to drop out was yesterday. And now Rice's political analyst, Mark Jay Jones, says the president may not weigh in at all. The reality is if Donald Trump doesn't endorse any candidate, Ken Paxton's likely to win in May. In Texas, the president's stamp of approval is still worth its weight in gold. He endorsed more than 100 candidates in this month's primary and the overwhelming majority won. KTRH is Beth Myers, by the way, both John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. stayed in the race. The Save America Act survives a procedural vote in the Senate. Two Republicans did not support it. Alaska's Lisa Murkowski voted with Democrats in North Carolina's Thom Tillis. Well, he didn't vote. 70% of America, Democrats support voter ID, 80% of Americans do. So that's the real question. Why can't we get 10 Democrats to cross the line to make sure that our elections are safe and secure that we maintain the integrity? But they're not willing to do that. Kansas Senator Dr. Roger Marshall will have more on the SAVE Act coming up at 6 o'clock. The Dems are still keeping DHS closed and the timing could not be worse, according to Arkansas. Governor Sarah Mike Huckabee Bernie Sanders. We're moving into tornado season here in Arkansas and we need to make sure that they're operational and functional. The fact that they're fighting against that and fighting against keeping our elections, fair, safe, and secure is so absurd. I hope people are paying attention and vote them out in November. Elsewhere in Washington, we're getting closer to a new DHS secretary. Senate Majority Leader John Thune says Markwayne Mullin's nomination is on track. He'll have his hearing. Hopefully he gets reported out of the committee on Thursday. We will try and pivot to him on the floor on Monday next week. Mullen would replace Kristi Noem, who was fired earlier this month. 536. Last week was a big spring break week. It continues this week. There's some school systems that were up last week, some of they're out this week, so they really get two weeks now, spring break. And there was an incident Saturday, downtown Houston, that they're blaming on spring breakers. And I'm going, wait a minute. Have we become like a spring break destination or are these all the people who couldn't afford to leave town and therefore took their spring break week and they're just, you know, having too much fun in the city of Houston. There are parties downtown and neighborhood takeovers and. You know, we had the problems of the rodeo. Is that caused by Spring Breakers? Here's the report from KPRC2, our television partner. This video, too graphic to show in its entirety, show Spring Breakers dancing in the street, purposely flashing drivers. Those activities spilled into nearby parking lots, causing mayhem. It was quite a mob outside. Bar owner Neil Fernandez says his East Downtown business was surrounded by people who were not even customers. Just dozens in some cases. a hundred or more just kids just in the parking lot. He shares a parking lot with the Exxon mobile gas station on the corner of McKinney and Samson, one of several lots taken over by hundreds of spring breakers. Several fights broke out forcing nearby businesses and even this gas station to shut down early. We do like 65, 70 percent of our revenue after 10 p.m. We're a very late night business. Most of that's done after midnight and our biggest night is Saturday night. And we cut that 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. time straight in half. So, yeah.

Yeah, probably lost a couple thousand dollars in revenue alone just from that. For residents, the chaos hit close to home. People are more lax. People don't necessarily put down the same kind of rules that they used to. What is always, what was your parental policies that relates to spring break? How did your parents react to you in spring break? What was spring break like for you and for your kids? And was there a difference? What did you allow your kids to do? What were the rules? I think I was telling you yesterday. I threw through Bush to Virginia and then back again. I didn't have any TSA problems, thankfully. didn't see too many what I would call surly TSA agents, well, one, who didn't seem to be enjoying her day for whatever reason. But as it turns out, some of the biggest problems have been here in Houston, especially at Hobby Airport. Hobby Airport set the... The standard, for lack of a better term, the standard over the weekend for no shows or for sickouts. Here's the report from ABC 13. Security lines are much shorter today at Houston's Hobby Airport as spring break travel continues amid a partial government shutdown and massive callouts by TSA agents. It's a very busy airport. nonstop. Houston airports estimate more than two million travelers will fly into Hobby Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport this spring break. I have seen massive lines. I was actually quite impressed when I showed up today and the lines were short. Mandy Canfield is traveling to California and says she's grateful for TSA agents because they have an important job. It's kind of a tough situation. Everybody deserves to get paid for the work that they do. I wouldn't want to do the job that they do. I'm thankful. for every single one of them that do it, to be honest. So I can see both sides of it. New data from TSA shows the highest average callout rate of TSA agents among airports nationally during this partial government shutdown places JFK at the top of the list and Houston's Hobby Airport at number three. This data includes a blizzard date that worsened staffing at JFK. TSA's data shows Houston Airport is placing in the top four spots for highest number of call by TSA agents if we exclude that late February blizzard day. I personally wouldn't show up either. I'd look for another job because you still have to pay your bills, put the food on the table. They're not getting anything. Even if they come in or don't come in, it's still the same. And they're not going to get compensated for coming in.

So I would find another job. And this past Saturday, TSA reported Hobby hit the highest number of callouts nationally during the shutdown, with 55% of officers not showing up to work. I wouldn't want to be the people that were working that day. I'm sure there were a lot of grumpy passengers. ABC reports approximately 60,000 TSA officers working during the shutdown will receive their first $0 paycheck this week. So it's only going to get worse from here. And Democrats, by the way, are floating some sort of an idea about trying to figure out how they can take money from ICE and border operations and rerout it to TSA so the TSA agents can come back and they can achieve their goal of defunding ICE. What that ABC anchor forgot to mention was that this is all the result of the Democrats refusing to fund DHS, which oversees the TSA. And then there's the FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, warning the mainstream media. Against fake news, something many feel they've been doing purposely to make President Trump look bad. It's reporting where people rush something out to print that could be investigated, could be verified, and yet they put it out there in a way that paints the president or the troops or the mission in a bad light. The near total closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil transit routes, has contributed to a global rise in the price of oil. But remember how hard it was to get the NATO members to even begin to pay their fair share? Trump finally turned that around. But now that we're looking for a little, and we're looking for a little piece of help in the Strait of Hormuz. We'd like, you know, just bring a couple of ships, escort some people through the Straits of Hormuz. No, no, no, no, no, we don't want to do that. the independent journalist and these people are serving such a great they're providing such a great service because you're no longer locked into the networks for sure but even some of the cable outlets where you just can't trust what they're saying you have these journalists out there doing the work providing the fact checks and it's really building a new layer of trust a lot of people out there have their go-to radio shows. They've got their go-to bloggers or other writers, and it really, really helps break that cycle that the legacy media had for so long. You know, maybe one of the worst organizations for that right now is MSNBC. If you watch them at all this week, you would swear that the Iranians are kicking our ass. Yeah, exactly. I mean, you just don't know. And you wonder, again, it becomes propaganda rather than news. And regardless of where you were on, you know, the Iran situation, what you want to do is be able to turn on any network and say, okay, here are the facts. Here's what we've got. You know, we might have a scoop that some other network doesn't have. Okay, good for them. That's why this one will be. more popular than the other but not just just blatantly making up stuff and that's why car has come out and said look we've got to have our act together you know you guys are have a license we can revoke the license uh you got to uh present the facts and and the other thing is again with with more media choices what we saw develop is Even the left-wing media had left-wing fact-checkers, you know, Snopes or Politifact or whatever that branded themselves as fact-checkers. They were all in line with the same bias. And now we've got people that are actually fact-checking, and it's created a whole new era where I think legacy media is really feeling the pressure, and hopefully this adds to it. Well, it could be a double-edged sword, though. Let me play devil's advocate here for a moment. Obviously, we're a conservative radio station. We present a conservative point of view. We have a conservative president right now. What happens if we get somebody in the White House who's a progressive who wants to apply the same principles to conservative media and wants to neuter them by claiming that they're presenting fact news? Fake news. I'm so glad you asked this question because this is what I believe is really important because you know personally I'm I'm someone that you know, falls on the other side of this, this war with Iran. And so, you know, you want people to be able to present the facts, but you also don't want them to promote propaganda on one side or the other and just become advocates for the government. As we saw in the Biden administration, this same media that's being criticized now wasn't criticized at all during the Biden administration because they would just...

run lockstep with what the administration wanted. And so, yeah, there is a danger, depending on what the administration is, on what they deem to be fake news. And so I do think that is very, very dangerous. And again, the media outlets out there, the choices that we have, let the people, you know, decide what they want to listen to. But again, I wish. in the general sense that they bring back just journalistic integrity and act like professionals, regardless of their bias, that used to be the driver. You know, it's like I'll vote whichever way I want, liberal or conservative, but then I go to work and I put on my professional hat and I act like a real journalist. That's going to have to go back to journalism school, I think. That's where the problem originally began and stem from. So they're going to have to go back to fixing that. And then they're the late show host like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, who've been mocking us 94% of the time during the last three weeks. Jeff McCall of DePaul University says these supposed comedians are ignoring the human cost of war, and they've become more activist than entertainer. They really don't care about the broader context. They're only interested in trying to disrupt the Trump. Now, certainly Trump steps into a good deal of criticism, but I'm not sure we need to have late-night comedians trying to do political analysis and try to sway the public in certain ways. And then there are the Democrats on Capitol Hill who continue to complain that Operation Epic Fury was a, quote, illegal war.

But there is one exception. I am the only Democrat, like that is absolutely fully supportive of what the president has done, you know, with Epic Fury. And that's isolated me as in my party. Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman with KTRH is Sean Hannity. 634, all futures are down $1.75 this morning to... $94.46 a barrel. A study only now making headlines actually reflects the financial strain that built up under Joe Biden. More than 68% of people selling their gold used the money to cover basic expenses. This lines up with what we saw happen when the last guy was in the White House. It's all over the news that gold is at an all-time high. And so when you see that type of notice, you start thinking about, you know, I have this, you know, ring laying around and, you know, what is it worth? You know, you're curious. Leith Dyke with Texas Lone Star, they are gold just under $5,000 in ounce right now. Silver is up to $79.52. Overnight futures this morning are up across the board this morning ahead of today's interest rate decision by the Federal Reserve. The central bank is not expected to cut rates. The U.S. has relied on China for rare earth minerals, but soon you might be able to get them right here in Texas. This could be a game changer when it comes to reducing our reliance on China. It's important for our national security. You know, your cell phone has over 20 rare earth minerals. Jets require tons of these elements. It's really important across the board. Texas GLO Commissioner Dr. Don Buckingham says all we have to do is develop the processing capacity. The Trump administration has actually invested $1.5 billion in USA rare earth. We think within two years we're going to be delivering these minerals. She says on top of the national security benefits, it's going to generate billions in revenue. and create tons of jobs. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. 635 now, the deadline for candidates in the Texas runoff elections to drop out of the races come and gone. Neither John Cornyn or Ken Paxton withdrew, and a promised endorsement from President Trump never happened. Even if they decide to suspend their campaign, they will still be on the May palette. Rice says Mark Jay Jones says the president may not endorse at all. Ken Paxton is also going after a major Texas county for providing legal aid to illegal aliens. Something he's targeted Harris County for as well.

The Texas Attorney General is using the courts to try to turn off the taps. He wants to stop the legal defense fund before all the cash is spent. Kyle Sinclair, with the Bayer County Republican Party, feels taxpayer dollars are being wasted helping illegal immigrants seek asylum. We have one of the worst debt per capita in the nation, and yet the county decides to use taxpayer funds for illegal immigrants. Recent studies show the vast majority of those who apply for asylum are getting their cases thrown out. There is a court hearing this week. They're asking the judge to dismiss the lawsuit. Their high school kids go on spring break. as long as there was, quote, unquote, an adult chaperone. Well, more often than not, the adult chaperone was like a 21-year-old older brother or sister who didn't care if the kids partied and got drunk and got into trouble because they were going to do the same things themselves. In fact, they were out there buying the beer. And a lot of parents bought into that and lived or regretted. So, you know, with spring break going on last week and some of it going on this week and all the issues we've had at the airport just got me thinking, what were your rules as relates to spring break? This is Cindy from Conroe. I grew up in Houston. High school in the spring branch independent school district. There never was a spring break. When did it start? I'm so jealous all these people having so much fun. That would have been a blast. You didn't have spring break? Really? All right. Well, that's news to me. I think James Talarico's a dangerous man for Texas, certainly, of the Democrat Senate candidate getting repeatedly called out for some of the things he's said in the past. There was a defense of him, as I was mentioning, from the lone Democrat on the five panel yesterday, but Greg Gutfeld wasn't taking any of that. Here's Greg Gutfeld's take on James Talarico. Well, I love that this guy, James Talarico, he's going through a makeover, and it's really easy to undergo a makeover because the media will do it for you. Republicans, you have to do it yourself. In fact, it's impossible to get a makeover as a Republican. You're always going to make under. They make you look worse. But James Talarico, you know, he says he's tired of the division. This is a guy who split the sexes into six boxes, right? This is a guy who's against division and he created a space for trans who want abortions. I mean, how much more specific a space can you get? How many trans who want abortions are there? And I'm including the ones that are currently in prison. Seems to me for him that may be more like an aim than a right. See, The problem with James Talarico, and I'm surprised that, Jessica, you don't see this. And maybe you do, but you don't want to, he's on your side. I can't read your mind. But his biggest division isn't in gender or politics, it's belief. You know, if you don't believe as he does, you are evil. You know, Christians and Jews, they divide by behavior. You can be a bad Christian. You could be a bad Jew. But that doesn't happen with someone like James Talarico. It doesn't matter if you're a good, decent person. If you believe in two sexes. You are evil. You know, think about all those Trump supporters that were demonized who you knew were good people. Grandfathers, parents, just nice people who would help you fix attire. It didn't matter what their behavior was like. It was that their belief was evil. This is what happens with progressives. This guy speaks a good game. But if he does not.

He does not like your belief. It doesn't matter how good you are. He's as extreme as a radical Islamist because that's how they think as well, because his values are not based on behavior. And that is something you have to understand when you listen to them. You can get lost in all that rhetoric. I've been different. My values are the same. That guy's bad news. People waiting over three hours and missing flights because Democrats want to have yet another tantrum. TSA agents aren't getting paid and they're calling in sick, but the mainstream media. is only spending 8% of its time telling you the truth and blaming Democrats. TSA lines are growing again. In Salt Lake, nine-year TSA veteran Robert Echavaria quit this month, not willing to repeat the stress from last fall when officers worked without three paychecks. That NBC report never mentioned that Democrats have voted every time against reopening DHS. And then there's the FCC chair, Brendan Carr, warning that the mainstream media could lose their broadcasting license if they don't stop with their fake news. This is likely an attempt by Chairman Carr to pressure mainstream media into objectivity. We want the media to be responsive to the news and not create news. They should be researching stories. They should be putting facts out. Republican strategist Bobby Eberley says the free market might end up solving this problem before Carr does. You're seeing the age with the independent journalists of actual better fact checking. I think that helps keep the journalists in line. Eberley did say that he doesn't actually expect any licenses to be revoked. and thinks this is really just a warning. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. It is now 704. President Trump on Operation Epic Fury in Iran strikes continuing inside Tehran by Israeli forces taking out at least. two other so-called leaders. Current and former administration officials are pushing back after National Terrorism Center Director Joe Kent resigned, claiming Iran was not an imminent threat. Former FBI deputy director Dan Bongino. That doesn't mean that this current opinion is any more fact-based because it's not. I read probably a lot more intelligence than he did. Tulsi Gabbard also backed up the White House. She's testifying about worldwide threats for the Senate Intelligence Committee later this morning. Oil futures this morning checking in at $195 a barrel with gas prices across Houston up to $3.40, still less than the five bucks we were paying four years ago with Joe Biden. as president. 705 closer to home and Obama appointed judge extends the deadline to apply for school choice until the end of March, calling the exclusion of Islamic schools the subject of a lawsuit, quote, troubling. Some schools have ties to the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Of course, that group was designated by Governor Greg Abbott as a foreign terrorist organization. The Klein ISD is adding additional security measures after three gun-related incidents last week. When it happens in your child school, it's a completely different feeling, a whole other level of terror. That parent with our TV partner, Channel 2, two of those cases involved kids bringing guns to school. Meantime, Harris County DA Shawn Tier claims that a problem plaguing the criminal courts has been resolved. The backlog is officially over. But is it? Tears said 83% of cases are now resolved in less than a year. A televised report last night said thousands of cases are still taking longer than a year to make it through the legal system. And I just, I got the thinking about, well, there's a college spring break and there's high school spring break. High school, that was a tough decision for a lot of parents whether or not they're going to let their kid participate somehow in spring break in high school. When you get to college, then there's not much you can do about it. But I think it's safe to say that when it comes to kids, especially kids that are not on a family vacation during spring break, you have to kind of assume the worst, don't you? As far as what's going to happen? There'll be a lot of drinking going on. There'll be a lot of canoodling, if you know what I mean. bad things can happen when you've got a kid who's out of state and something happens where they're in the wrong place at the wrong time. You get the idea. My parents were very strict about spring break. I was very strict about it. Nothing I could do about a college age kid going on spring break other than they threatened with not paying their tuition. Not being tuition came in very handy a few times. But I was curious about what your rules were or are on spring break. You know, who in your household was allowed to participate? Who wasn't? What were your rules? Hey, Jimmy, this is Summerjack, Bob. My wife and I have one simple rule. If we both have the same spring break week. We do something together, whether it's traveling or going to see her family or spend time with my family. But this year, we do not. She has a different spring break than me. So, this spring break, I took care of a lot of stuff in the house, particularly built in the kitchen.

And during her spring break later on, she'll paint it. It's Cindy from the middle of Houston. Spring break was never around when I was in school. And even if it had been, who has the money to go anywhere? Where do these kids get this money? Good Lord. Hey, Jim is fall. Look, spring break used to be called Teachers Conference. And maybe spring break was just a creation of some of these northern states, schools, to give you an opportunity to escape somewhere where it wasn't snowing. or where you weren't freezing to death. 7-10, time for traffic and weathered together? You know, the claim you always hear about rare earth minerals is they're very hard to get to. They're very hard to mine. And there was no way I was going to send any of our ore over to China and put it in China's control. But I think through some good practices, we're going to figure out how to get these processes. The domestic processing is going to happen. There's kind of some places by Fort Worth, Denver and Oklahoma that are in development. The Trump administration actually just invested $1.5 billion in USA rare earth because this is how important they think these rare earth minerals are to the whole country. And so we're going to get it done and we're going to be good conservators of our land, but we're going to get these minerals to the marketplace. I'm glad you brought the processing thing because I'm struck by the fact that that's really what has held this country back for so long. It's held us back from building new refineries. We're finally going to build a new refinery here in Texas that can go ahead and take care of the light crude that we've had to ship other places to process because we are not set up for that in our current refineries. And it's the same thing with rare earth minerals. You have to be able to process those things if you want to be able to do the whole thing. Nope, that's exactly right. And that new plant that's going down, getting put together down in the valley is going to be amazing, you know, as well on that light crude front. So we're all for energy independence, elemental independence, and of course producing our own food. I thought the comment about James Talarico was kind of funny in the meatless campaign. But anyway. Yeah, well, hopefully we don't have to worry about him having any influence in the United States Senate. Hopefully so. Just how vast... Is this rare earth deposit? How much of the stuff do we have? Well, I tell you what, there are 17 rare earth minerals. We have 15 of the 17 in this deposit. The heavies, they're called the heavies are the most rare. We've got pretty much all of them. It is.

We think it's a hundred-year supply. It is going to be transformational. We are just so excited to get this going online. And, you know, just a great thing, you know, just falling back on the fact that our founding fathers were so incredibly smart to retain our unowned land and have that unowned land fund education. Unlike the other territories, emphasis on territories, not sovereign nations that join the United States, where they ceded their unowned land. And all of that revenue goes to the federal government. you know, in places like New Mexico and stuff like that. So our funding fathers were super smart. Speaker Mike Johnson, as the Israelis take out several more members of Iran's senior leadership with the Iranians responding. Both of these attacks were cluster bombs delivered by Iranian missiles. They break up in the sky over Tel Aviv and drop dozens of bomblets. Those bomblets get through the air defenses. of them came down in an area called Ramat Gan and killed a couple people in their 70s by shrapnel. This happened after Israel killed two key players from what remains of the Iranian leadership. Mike Tobin reporting from Tel Aviv, and as if we needed any more proof that Trump derangement syndrome is real. New polling from the Liberal Washington Post shows that the answer is completely changed when President Trump's name is used. It's unfortunate, but I don't believe any polls. It's now polls have become narrative makers. And whoever's doing the poll can do the result that they want. I just don't trust any of them anymore. Republican strategist Matt Locke says the poll found more people supported Operation Epic Fury when Trump's name wasn't mentioned.

New Rasm has been polling shows that 61% of likely voters say the U.S. has been successful so far in Iran. 35% described it as, quote, very successful. And then there's this. According to new research, late night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert mocked the U.S. 94% of the time since the bombing began. They cracked jokes, ignoring the human costs, and it's just what we expect now. And it's not helpful to the political sphere here in the United States, and none of this sick humor was happening when Obama and his administration were bombing Libya. Jeff McCall of DePaul University says this is purely political, and they've morphed into something they were never meant to be. I think they view themselves now more as political activists who happen to deliver a comedic punchline once in a while, more than comedians who are just trying to provide entertainment. I'm actually learning a few things about spring break here in Texas versus spring break where I grew up in Michigan in that spring break is a relatively recent phenomenon. A lot of you who went to high school in the 70s never had that decision to make because. There wasn't a spring break per se. More of a recent phenomenon here than in other places of the country, especially places up north where they're just begging for a chance in March to get the hell out of Dodge and go somewhere where the weather's warm. We don't have to worry about that here, do we? Because we usually have nice weather here. But for the purpose of argument, spring break rules because a lot of parents back in the day would let their high school seniors. go on spring break. In some cases, just with their buddies or their friends, and generally not really supervised. And if they were supervised by an adult, it was usually a young adult who was out there buying them beer. So do you have any rules as it relates to your own kids participating in spring break or whether they can or can't? Participate in spring break. I'm just kind of curious about that. We had spring break and my dad considered it free labor for a week. And yay, we were glad to get back to schools. This is Edna from Summerwood. And that sent people looking for therapy, not to heal their pain, but to validate it. But when things go bad, we don't lie on a couch and scroll through crap that tells us to cut off our family and friends. We don't need to cope because politics is not our identity. Hell, we almost never think about our identity at all. Maybe it's because we're too busy living life, or we find our identity in our relationships with the people we love. We're moms, we're dads, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters. It sure beats black, white, gay, straight, non-binary. Either way, today's journalists are probably the last group to seek solace from. If you only knew how up their lives were, you'd wonder why we ever listen to them at all. Yeah, I would like to think that we all have our lives. And when the microphone goes off at 8 o'clock in the morning, I go back to living my life. Sure, I follow what's going on the news, but it doesn't tick date my day.
