The Supreme Court gives President Trump wins on immigration. And if oil is back down to pre-war levels, why aren't gas prices? Good morning. Bob France in for Jimmy Amy Coney Barrett. This is your 5 o'clock report on News Radio 740 KTRH. Cliff Saunders has the news. Scott Mike has the early look at the Friday drive. Let's see what I'm walking into this morning. I got 288 to stall at McGregor. That'll take a right lane supposedly. I don't always trust some of the stuff that shows up on the digital for 288. I'm not even seeing any kind of scooch there. But just in case, I've got to take a little closer look in a minute, just in case, let's use a little caution from the South Loop 610. And also Katie Freeway at Voss or Bingle, Westbound, outbound. They just cleared a minor crash there. We're back to full speed. Clear the board, reset the jackpot, Bob Friends. I'm Skymike. It's your generator, supercenter.com traffic center. All right, clear the board indeed. It's going to be hot and humid today. High around 91, 2, 3, 4, somewhere in that neighborhood. And it's not going to rain until sometime. This week, overnight lows, down around 80. That's where we are now, 81 degrees. At your official severe weather station news radio 740 KTRH. Now it's time for the Friday morning news. Good morning, Cliff Saund. Good morning, Bob France. We're sponsored by Shop as Farm Supply at 5.01 hour top story this morning. Nearly nine out of ten people who claim asylum end up with a... order removal because they don't qualify for asylum. Borders are Tom Homan on Fox as the U.S. Supreme Court gives the Trump administration a pair of wins on immigration, the first allowing it to turn immigrants away before they get here, the other, allowing it to strip away temporary protected status for Haitian and Syrians. The court, though, is yet to rule on birthright citizenship. Nearly 70% in new polling don't want to change. The president wants to limit it to children of legal. residents of this country. So how did giving children of illegal alien citizenship become so popular? Some people may think it's Trump being mean or something like that, but I think the main reason is that people just assume that's the way it's always been and why would we change it? Cully Stimson with the Heritage Foundation says in reality, this was never the purpose of birthright citizenship. The main purpose of the 14th Amendment was cement into place full rights of citizenship for slaves and their children. He says even if SCOTUS doesn't uphold Trump's executive order on the issue, Congress should still take action on this. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. We're expecting more rulings to come out on Monday. At the White House, President Trump tells farmers the U.S. will buy farm goods with unfrozen Iranian funds. Says a full peace deal is coming soon. They want to make a deal with us very badly, and we probably will, I think we will, but the strait is open. Something, though, that could impact the talks. A Singapore flagship was attacked by Iran and the Strait of Horm moves, according to U.S. officials. There were no casualties. Oil prices are pretty much back to where we were before Operation Epic Fury. It's $69 and $24 a barrel. David Holt with the Consumer Energy Alliance, says as high as oil prices got, could have been worse.
Possibly more than $150 a barrel. Now, so much of the oil that we need and, frankly, that the world needs, it really puts a good isolation block for us and keeps prices from going up as much as they otherwise could have. He credits the Administration for Energy Independence a bit market analyst concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Gasoline prices dropping again down to about 3.41 a gallon across Houston this morning. We're still above where we were before Operation Epic Fury, and Chevron predicts that those prices will drop. in the coming weeks gas prices have been dropping for six weeks already but the mainstream media somehow some way keeps complaining Media was actually a cause of why prices rose to start. A lot of it had to do with myopic commodity traders obsessively trading off of scary headlines that the media were putting out. Joseph Vasquez with the media research center says that they're doubling down as prices fall. And in another bit of gaslighting, they argue the price drop is inflationary. If prices go to the moon because the straight-up hormones is closed, that's bad Trump. If prices and fall like a rock, that's bad Trump. It's ridiculous. They are treating the American people like they're stupid. He says they want Trump's economy viewed negatively to push narratives ahead of the midterms. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTR8. It's now 505 local political news. Call them the walkout Democrats. Two Fort Bend County commissioners got up and left yesterday's commissioner's court hearing because they didn't like the fact that interim county judge Daniel Wong was presiding. Today could be a historic day for Texas education. The state board of ed takes a final vote on a new curriculum and required reading list. both of which include parts of the Bible. They are 15 members, so it's majority rules. All they need are eight votes in order to make sure that the standards and their reading list passed, and we're very proud of what the State Board of Education has done. That's Mary Elizabeth Castle with Texas values. If approved, the changes would take effect during the 2030, 31 school year. Earlier this week, Camp Mystic filed for bankruptcy following the deadly hill country flooding from a year ago. Some say the camp has been unfairly singled out. Mystic was not the only campground that fell short of keeping people safe one year ago, but they're the only one in the spotlight. State Representative West Verdell says there's a well-funded effort by influential families to keep it that way. They've used the state government to weaponize against Mystic, as we saw with the investigation committee. He says the state's focus on Mystic is also an attempt to cover their own mistakes. Two days before the flood, the agency that oversees summer camps approved their emergency plans. 2-1. They'll play again tonight. Pre-game at 4.30 on Sports Talk 790. But until then, we've got a few things to do today.
I don't know what to make of the street. And I don't think anybody else does either. The Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, issued a new threat yesterday to disrupt shipping through the street. You heard Cliff talking about this a little bit. they're still asserting control. And that is not the way a ceasefire and an MOU get going. I can say that. This is a problem. And I don't know that the United States, quite frankly, is taking it as seriously as they should, or at least maybe that's just the public face. Let me read. Now this is the New York Times. So take that for what it's worth because it's the New York Times. But their description of this is the Iranians disrupted shipping through the strait yesterday as Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Gulf Arab leaders in Bahrain to try to allay their security concerns. Iran warned ships that the only route through the strait, which is usually a vital pathway for oil and natural gas, obviously, was through its waters in coordination with its navy. Now I'm going to stop right there and say, whoa, wait, huh? What? Because we were told that their Navy has been destroyed. It's all at the bottom of the sea. I don't know what Navy they have left, but this is what they're saying. and said they should not take an alternative route in an apparent reference to Omani territorial waters. The threat came just as shipping in the strategic waterway was surging this week after months of paralysis. This route is unacceptable and extremely dangerous, said the IRGC on Thursday in a statement carried by Tasneem in Iranian news agency tied to the guard. Quote, we warn all vessels to strictly refrain from any movement outside the designated routes, warning that action would be taken against vessels that did not heed its instructions. Again, I'm reading this with pauses because I'm very, very, very frustrated and concerned. We have been told by our administration that the Iranian Navy was dead and buried, that it is no more, and here they are making threats. maritime threats, threats against ships. How are they doing that without a Navy? But they're making threats against these. And this is supposedly in the, you know, while a deal is being made, while a 60-8 negotiation is taking place. Meanwhile, they're allowed to sell their oil again and they're making billions off of it. It's a problem. An incident on Thursday appeared to highlight the risk of the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Organization, which is administered by Britain's Royal Navy, reported that a cargo vessel had been hit by an unknown projectile causing damage to the bridge. The incident happened seven and a half nautical miles southeast of Dajit Oman, near where vessels taking the Omani route were may be transiting. And according to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. officials have confirmed that the attack did come from Iran, and as of now, this is as of yesterday late.
The White House had not commented on the attack. That's a problem, and we're going to have to address it. My fellow America, this July, we're celebrating America's birthday at Moto Casino by giving away 1,776,000 in prizes. And one lucky winner is going to take home 1 million SC. Visit iHeartadvertising.com. Again, that's iHeartadvertising.com. 5-10. We say we get moving here. Oh, you need your hard hats, Bob. You got your hard on? We're going to the east side? We are going to the hard work on east side of town. Excellent, excellent. Terry, you got yours, and she should have a camera shot. What camera shot you got for me here this morning? I got 13-07. My favorite one, the beautiful Fred Hartman Bridge, and as you could see, it's really pretty there, isn't it? Bob. Bob's got on his phone, too. It is beautiful. You know, it looks like Disneyland. You have both been on that bridge at a high-rate. of speed and Baytown to LaCourt. We're in good shape here. Ship Channel Bridge 610 Sherman, you look good. And Atoll Bridge is rocking along so far. I'm in the generator. Supercenter.com traffic center? Oh my gosh. It was worse than any roller coaster I've ever been on. I wish I got a scene better. Oh my goodness gracious. Yeah, Terry. Bob. Yeah. Do you have the I survived? This got my t-shirt. No, but I need one. Size X-L, please. Okay, I'll catch you one. I survived it and I still am traumatized by it. Well, my stomach was in the ceiling of the truck. I can tell you that. Outstanding. Crazy town. Got a dry yard out today, don't we? Yes, yes. All right, Terry, what you got to do? We got sunshine. We got heat and humidity and not a drop of rain through Tuesday. Yeah, I know. It's a shocker, but that makes it easy for us to plan because it is the weekend. Outdoor plants are looking good because there's no rain. But just keep in mind, the heat into season the afternoon will be over 100, generally between 101 to 106. Temperatures, for the most part, low to mid-90s, but we'll start to see a few upper 90s by Sunday.
All right, Terry, thank you. And right now, still 81, at your official Severe Weather Station, News Radio 740, KTRH. I live in Clear Lake. Humble. Reliable, KTRH, traffic and weather. Next on the 10. Okay, 519. Boy, oh boy, alligator Alcatraz, we hardly knew ye. Yeah. Did you know that Florida's alligator Alcatraz is permanently closed now, or it's about to be Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed this yesterday. State officials estimate that about 20,000 criminal illegal immigrants were processed through the facility since it opened last year. And it was a favorite for a lot of folks, myself included, but mainly because it drove the left nuts. It made them just unhinged. You know, they're already unhinged, but it made them go even crazier with meltdowns than normally. trying to claim that it was some sort of a death trap and everything else. No, it was just a perfect facility for the time that it was used. Alligator, Alcatraz now has zero detainees. Ron DeSantis told reporters at a press conference outside the facility. It has helped remove many, many dangerous people from the streets and get them not only out of Florida, but out of the United States of America, led to the deportation of about 21,000 during the time it was opened. But the 2026 hurricane season started June 1st, prompting Florida officials to move the detainees out of the soft-sided facility because it may not be safe a place for them. them to be held or for workers to be either. So Florida is the only state in the country that requires all state agencies to cooperate with federal law enforcement agencies in Florida for immigration enforcement. They will continue to do so, but without alligator alcatraz. That's too bad. 520. Now let's do traffic and weather. Scott, Mike. Fixing the rest of the media and the digital sources. Let's go, 288. Good morning, Scott, Mike. Dude, guess when South is down 288 past McGregor. No brake light is all smooth sailing. Good to hear your voice back again. Oh, I got a lot of people to thank today. Don from Alvin, dude. Guy Mike. There is no saw vehicles at McGregor. The traffic is going sharing. Well said. It's your generator, supercenter.com traffic center. That sound is familiar, because I think that's what I experienced all that information. Yeah. Except I couldn't see. I'm out. Terry's forecast is the easiest thing to give you, and I've been just saying the same thing all week long, and I'll continue to until it changes. Temperatures in the 90s, low 90s to mid-90s, most of the places, heat index still going to be pushing up into triple digits, and then it's not going to rain. It's not going to rain for today or tomorrow or the next day or the next day, and probably not till the middle of the next week, Terry says, so we'll keep our eye on it. But right now, 81 degrees at your official severe weather station is Radio 740K-T-R-H.
And you hear that music, that means it's time for Cliff Saunders to give us headlines. Thank you, Bob. A 12-year-old girl calls police after finding her mother and stepfather dead. They think it's an apparent murder suicide. Conroe woman is arrested, charged with stealing from a mausoleum. The crime was caught on camera. So let's talk a little bit about yesterday's huge wins for President Trump in the Supreme Court or from the Supreme Court. This is, again, leading to more Democrat meltdowns, which is kind of hilarious because all the Supreme Court did was follow the laws as they are written and the Constitution as it was written. But they are calling it un-American, they are calling it inhumane and more. In two separate Supreme Court decisions released yesterday, huge victories for the... president over activist judges, federal judges who have no earthly idea or interest in the Constitution, have been smacked down by the Supreme Court. The first one permitted the president to end TPS status for Haitians and Syrians. The second one permitted the president to reject illegals who want to cross the border. NBC News described it this way. The Supreme Court on Thursday cleared the way for the Trump administration. to remove legal protections from thousands of Haitian and Syrian immigrants in the United States, meaning they could be subject to deportation, which of course they have always been. I'll cover that in a moment. The court on a six to three vote on ideological lines ruled in favor of the administration, which asked to continue with his plans to strip TPS status from, our TPS, which is temporary protected status from, about 350,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians. Writing for the majority, Samuel Alito Samuel Alito said that judges overstepped their authority and second-guessing the administration's decision. The court also rejected a claim that the decision to remove protections for Haitians was discriminatory. That's big. Now, I'm just going to hit that super quick. TPS, you know what it stands for, right? I just, little hint, I just told you. Temporary protected status. What's the primary word in that group? Is it protected? No. In that group of words, the most important one is temporary. It was never intended to be forever protected status. You are here as a guest until we decide. It's time for you to go home. Oh, wait a minute. Your home is bad. Sorry about that. Syria's bad. Haiti's bad for all kinds of reasons. Well, guess what? You don't have to go home after all. But like the bartender says at the end of the night, you can't stay here.
You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. Find a third country. Find another place to be. But we're not going to put up with your existence here any longer, particularly as you come here and refuse to assimilate. And I can tell you, being in a state that has a whole lot of Haitians, remember the 2024 presidential debate in which President Trump said, the dogs, they're eating the dogs. Yeah, that's Springfield, Ohio. And I can tell you, the people down there are... miserable because of the non-English speaking, non-learning how to drive, but crashing cars into everything. You've got kids in schools disrupting education because the teachers don't know how to speak to the Haitians. I mean, it's a massive population. It's time for them to go. Again, you don't have to go home. The second one, of course, excuse me. U.S. immigration officials can turn away asylum seekers at the Mexican border. The court ruled during President Trump's first term under the Customs and Border Protection agents posted, let's see. I'm sorry, I want to try to clarify this. Posted on bridges between Mexico and the U.S. may turn back and did turn back many asylum seekers. The high court's ruling overturned lower court decisions that found Congress intended to permit any immigrant approaching a border checkpoint to file for asylum. The challenged policy was officially rescinded by the Biden administration in 2021. But most asylum seekers at the border have been thwarted. by Biden and Trump edicts even broader than the metering program. The Trump administration had asked the justices to uphold the practices legality, calling it a critical tool for addressing border surges and for preventing overcrowding at ports of entry along the border. A divided Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. 2024 ruled that asylum seekers approaching the border crossing are considered to be arriving in the U.S. under federal law. Well, not so much because the majority of the court said in plain language, one is not considered to have arrived at a place until one actually enters that place. So coming close to the front door or our southern border does not mean you have crossed into the United States. So huge wins for President Trump and huge headaches for the radical left. 527. Now let's do a Bloomberg business report and see what's happening in the markets this Friday morning. Here's Dan Schwartzman. Good morning. Time for the morning news. Cliff Saunders. Thank you, Bob France. It is 531 on KTRH. Our top story, the battle over election integrity is House Republicans are calling out. House or rather Senate Republicans for not passing the Save America Act. The Senate says that they don't have time to debate one of the most popular issues in the country, and yet they've had time to go on, you know, on vacation. They've had time to literally host dog shows. Oh, that's a shot fired by Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna on CNN. The Senate's on recess till July 13th. The president met with Speaker Mike Johnson yesterday about adding the Save America Act to another.
reconciliation bill. Also on Capitol Hill, a House hearing with DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin literally went off the rails over border security and the hundreds of thousands of children that went missing at the border under the Biden administration. Say a word about it. Mr. Secretary, do not interrupt. Don't you point your finger at me. I will point my finger at you. Don't you be a hypocrite then? 3900 kids. You should be as upset about the $450,000 kids that were lost. He didn't say a word about it. Mullen confronting Connecticut Democrat Rosa DeLauro. We told you yesterday that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has formally asked to be reimbursed for Operation Lone Star, but we likely won't get back the full $10 billion that we spent to fix. Biden's border mess. There's only, I think, allocated almost up to 10 billion from DHS and only 3 billion from DOJ. So we're actually competing with the other states. So we're not going to receive all that money. We're only going to get a portion of that. Ammon Blair with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says the money that Texas does get must immediately be reinvested into state level border security to prepare for a future. with another open borders president. The U.S. Supreme Court gives the White House two wins on immigration yesterday. This is likely because of the multiple layers of bureaucracy that approve. tenure applications. The public expects accountability. We need a more balanced approach at these universities. They're very lopsided. They're run by leftist and you might put some conservatives at the very top, but if nothing changes beneath, that's the real problem.
Christian Susan Collins with the Texas Youth Summit says it's critical that top-level leaders continue to be held accountable and not allow woke middle management to take control of our major colleges. Consider this on your way to work this morning. Researchers say that too much reliance on AI could actually make your business less effective. AI expert Matt Rosen says businesses should use artificial intelligence to support employees not replace critical thinking and should verify AI generated content before relying on it. And I do think this is a leadership failure as much as anything else because I think in a lot of organizations, people give someone a license to co-pilot or call out or chat GBT, and they're like, all right, go ahead and use it, but they don't really tell them how or what's expected. The study says repeatedly using AI to summarize and rewrite information can gradually erase important context, accuracy, and human expertise. I don't think anyway, but then again, that's soccer. All right, 537, good morning. I'm Bob France sitting in for Jimmy Amy Coney Barrett. So my guy who helps me with my Sunday morning briefing, he just basically does the population of the recipients. uh he in other words the behind the scene stuff um it tells me that we have had nearly 400 new subscriptions to my free and people like to subscribe to stuff that's free maybe that's why but to my free um sunday morning briefing A newsletter I put out at 6 a.m. Eastern time every Sunday for things you need to know about the week to come, things you need to know about what just happened in the previous week, and things that you can do as well. It's popular, and a lot of people are getting a lot of value from it. I just told him, too, I said, the Houston folk are great folk. They do. They didn't know about this, but now that they do know, they are just flocking. I love the conservative population of Houston. Might be a blue city. But the conservative folks are massive, massive supporters of Liberty and KTRH. And I'm happy to be talking with you guys. And I hope to continue that engagement long after the show ends today. And Jimmy is back on Monday. So if you would like to receive the weekly briefing that I put out each and every Sunday, free in your inbox, send me an email. Bob at strictly speaking.org. Let's make it 500 by the end of the day. 500 new subscribers. How about it? Bob at strictly speaking.org is how you reach me. Cliff just told you about the hearing in which Deloro, who is just an absolute lunatic, the purple hair, blue hair, whatever, Rosa Deloro from Connecticut. questioning Markwayne Mullin about family separations and all of that other nonsense. And Markwayne Mullin, the new DHS secretary, not having it. And I don't mean to be mean to former DHS secretary, Kristi Noem, but this needed to happen. This is a massive upgrade at that position. Great move by President Trump replacing her with Markwayne Mullin. He does not play.
is proper for you so that you can hear it clearly. One more time. Here we go. I swear it's gonna work. Come on now. All right, let's do this one more shot here. 3,900 children were separated from their family. 450,000 kids were lost. Mr. Secretary, you didn't say a word about it. Mr. Secretary, do not interrupt. Don't you point your finger at me. I will point my finger at you. Don't you be a hypocrite then. Then you should be as upset about the 450,000 kids that were lost. He didn't say a word about it. For four years, you never said a word. Mr. Secretary. Could you put him in his place for, for, don't yell at me. You should be put in your place. Mr. Secretary, if you would like four minutes for a closing statement when everybody's done, I'll give you that. But while members are on their eight minutes, I need them to have their eight. I started my comments. I appreciate that. My issue is that they say this for sound bites, and I'm not going to let them say something like that. What did you do just recently for sound bites? I sympathize with the 400. We are going to have something resembling order here. The time is the ranking members. If you would like to respond later on, there are methods to do that, but it's not a who can talk louder into the mic. It's not. You are recognized. Thank you very much. I will not let her sit there and lie and accuse something this ridiculous. He will not take it. Markwayne Mullin is doing a phenomenal job. And meanwhile, Rosa DeLora looks like she's waiting for Hansel and Gretel to climb into her oven so she can make herself a pie. 540 now, traffic and weather. Texas's own Brandon Gill is just a pain in the left-wing A for all of the Democrats that appear before him in committee hearings. This is the latest. You know how... A federal judge has decreed that SNAP can and must provide sugary drinks and crappy junk food and everything else. Remember, SNAP benefits, which is supplemental nutrition. SNAP benefits are supposed to be for keeping people alive. It's supposed to be needed, necessary sustenance for people who cannot afford food. It's not supposed to be for treats. Brandon Gill. Do the American people need Coca-Cola to survive? I did not say that. I'm asking you. I'm giving you the opportunity to say yes or no. I will not answer for individuals and their choices. You think that there are some Americans who need Coca-Cola to survive? Is that your testimony? I'm happy to talk about the food and nutrition needs that individuals have. You just don't know. You just don't know. I think most people can rationally say that you don't need Coca-Cola to survive. Wouldn't you agree? I agree that we have a hunger crisis and that we need to address it, but ensuring that individuals have the food resource that they need. Got it. It's not just what he says. It's the delivery, and it's the fact that he gets a hold of one of these people on an issue. holds on to it like a bulldog on a soup bone. He just, you know, they're trying so hard to just like dismiss the question and move on to the next one, you know, dismiss the question. And he won't. He say, you, you know, you, and he just, he just corners them. And he does it like with such a disaffecting manner because he isn't yelling at them. He's just holding them to account. Should Snap be spent on sodas? And, and the purpose of Snap, like I said, is to provide families. with sustenance to survive, not Cheetos, not Coco Pebbles, not, you know, Coca-Cola as he was, as he was just doing there. So this Lib who's sitting, you know, sitting there saying that we should be able to get, you know, people should be able to buy whatever they want with their SNAP assistance cards.
Which, by the way, is just such a massive waste. There's so much fraud, so many people using EBT, so many people using SNAP assistance, you know, basically, you know, welfare cards to buy all of this stuff that regular hardworking Americans who provide the funds that go on to those cards cannot afford. I don't know how many times I have to tell this story, and I've told it to radio audiences in many, many different forums and my live stream, my podcast, and I'll tell it to you too. My wife was never more angry. I don't think I've ever seen her as angry against anybody else other than me. And she was when she was shopping and there was a woman in front of her with a massive cart filled with, and I'm not making it up. She took a quick snapshot with her phone while the woman wasn't looking, but she had a cart full of steak. and I think even some seafood, like expensive seafood. And she pulled out an EBT card. Okay, she pulled out an EBT, basically a welfare card. And while she was getting ready to pay, another woman with another cartload of similar stuff came up and tried to push in front of my wife. And she said, whoa, wait a minute. And she said, I'm with her. And she's like, well, you're gonna have to wait back. No, I'm with her because she's paying. And then she paid with her EBT card. And I'm talking what had to have been according to my wife, hundreds or $1,000 worth of food that my wife would never have had enough money to buy. And our tax dollars funded the card that that woman was using to pay for her food. It is unconscionable. It is indefensible. And now Snap is saying we should be able or people should be able. to buy whatever they want with their supplemental nutritional assistance program card, including junk, including the most expensive things that you can find. Brandon Gill exposed every one of these libs. No, it doesn't take Coca-Cola to survive. No, it doesn't take the most expensive and the most unhealthy snack treats that you enjoy. Cartons of ice cream should not be on the snap benefit. When I was a kid, I'll tell you right now, I grew up not well off at all. I ate plenty of government cheats. You know what they gave us? When we were hungry and we were impoverished, government cheese, government eggs, government milk, necessary sustaining foods, not ice cream and Coca-Cola. Thank you, Representative Brandon Gill. She was on CNN. went off on the Senate for finding the time for vacation. This is one of our topics. We'll talk a little bit more about at the bottom of the hour. But going on vacation without passing the Save America Act. It's a legitimate question and a legitimate criticism. It's, I don't know, essential to our democracy, meaning our democracy as in the vote. We are a republic, a constitutional republic, but the system of deciding our leaders is democracy. And it has to be, you know, election integrity. And right now, we don't have the Save America Act passed, and Anna Paulina Luna is not having it. ...and's own polling. This is overwhelmingly supported proof of citizenship plus voter ID.
by the American people, black, white, Hispanic, Democrat, Republican, independent, female and male, all support it. And what I will tell you is President Trump is correct. And look, even if it's only 100 cases, it's still 100 cases too many. If you're talking about wanting people to fully engage in trust their election process and get rid of this whole idea and notion that people can't trust their vote, which I think is incredibly important to the American people, we have to get this done. What's even more crazy though, Jake, is that we've passed this multiple times out of the House. Senate says that they don't have time to debate one of the most popular issues in the country. And yet they've had time to go on, you know, on vacation. They've had time to literally host dog shows. And they've had time to put into legislation that we've had to vote on in the House that would give them guaranteeing wins for lawsuits. Not to mention they've been shilling for Monsanto. So no, I'm not inclined to be bullied by the Senate. But what I am inclined to do is stand up for residents in Pinellas County and other people across the country that wants to see this done. And so I actually last week just filed an amendment. amendment to support this by attaching it to the National Defense Authorization Act that is currently sitting in the Rules Committee. APL, again, it is huge. She's from Florida, of course, and she's right, 100% right. The issue here is... We're talking about election integrity. If we can't trust what happens in November that it was on the up and up, then did it really happen? And she's also right to say it is extraordinarily popular. Everybody knows how important it is. 8515. It's not a 6040 or even a 7515 issue. Everybody wants this even the majority of Democrats. It's just that the vocal minority of Democrats that like cheating seem to have all of the power. And that's a huge problem. Senate, start doing your jobs. It is 610 now. Let's do traffic here, Skyline. Dude, it's the Grand Parkway north, and we're going eastbound this time. Tomball 249, past the golf ball. Something smells good. What are you cooking up there, Terry? Temperatures will be in the 90s, mainly low to mid-90s today and tomorrow. We'll start to see a few upper 90s Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. Right now I don't see any rain through Tuesday. But there is that possibility of some wet weather starting the middle part of next weekend. It would be good to break up this long stretch of sunny and dry. All right. Thank you, Terry. All right, we've been talking about gas prices. We've been talking about oil prices. Why aren't they the same? If oil prices are plummeting, why aren't gas prices alongside? We're going to talk to Joseph Vasquez, associate editor with the Media Research Center, about all of that right after we check in with Skymike. We're looking at North Freeway I-45. Then I'll drop back down to around 80 overnight tonight, and then it's going to do it all over again tomorrow. And really for the foreseeable future, no rain really in the offing until maybe Wednesday of next week, according to Terry. And right now we're sitting at 81 at your official severe weather station is Radio 740 KTRH. Time now for the headlines with Cliff. Thank you, Bob. On News Radio 740, KTRH. Okay, 621. Bob France, once again, in for Jimmy Amy Coney Barrett. Let's welcome Joseph Vasquez, Associate Editor with the Media Research Center to talk about gas prices. Joseph, good morning. Good morning, my friend. Good to be here. Good to have you. Thank you so much. Okay. So, you know, obviously gas prices are falling and everybody is very, very happy about that. And, you know, the mainstream media will not tell you that. But what they will tell you about is that it's not falling as fast as oil is. Yesterday, according to the Wall Street Journal, the benchmark. fell to around $70 a barrel on Wednesday. That's the average price. That's a 27% drop in oil prices from early June, but gas prices only are 4% lower than what they were at the exact same time. Why is it that the oil is cheaper, but the gas is only slowly declining? Well, that's the issue with energy markets to begin with because they're extremely volatile. It takes time for energy prices in order to be reflected in the prices that people see at the pump. But what we could definitely see is that there is this downward trend exceedingly so from the $4.58 average highs that we saw. What, like at the peak of the war, but because this conflict is still going on, it's still up in the air, but whether or not there's going to be a full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz or, you know, so commodity traders can stop being so impulsive. But we'll see. But, you know, to your point about the media, CNN had pointed out just in May that we won't see oil dip below $70. This is oil, mind you, not gas prices. Oil dip below $70 until, get this.
2032. And where are the oil prices right now? Where are the oil prices right now? Brent crude is at $72 West Texas is under $70. They're going to keep on moving the gold post because they cannot give President Trump an inch on anything. So don't expect them to be telling the truth about the energy markets now. Well, you know, it's almost like they're actively cheering for that, for it to stay well above, you know, until 2032 or at least until 2027, 2028. They don't want President Trump your right to not only get credit, but they don't want him to have any success. The more the gas costs, the more the oil costs, the more everything else costs, then then they'll blame Trump for the economy. Oh, exactly. And you know what? Forbes magazine just came up with this incredible script flip by saying that cheaper gas is actually bad for inflation. How did they explain that one? They're switching the whole script there. Yeah, yeah, explain that one. They use an economist named Porston Slok, who admitted in 2025 that he and other economists in the intellectual ecosphere got the Trump economy wrong, and he's out there switching the narrative, saying that, oh, yeah, cheap gas prices used to drag down inflation, but that's no longer the narrative. Now, gas prices could potentially push, falling gas prices could push up inflation. I'm sorry, what kind of mental gymnastics you have to do to completely butcher our understanding of economics? Yeah, that's not... But that's exactly the narrative that they're running with now. That's not even moving the goalposts, that's flipping it upside down and putting the posts up first into the ground. I mean, it's just crazy. I mean, it's no sense of... I couldn't have said it better myself. I couldn't have said it better myself. Okay, so what is, do you suspect? I mean, you know, we have to be real. I started the show this morning with the story of the attack or at least the strike on one of the ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the warning that if they try to use, talking about the IRGC, saying that if other ships try to use the Omani waterway as opposed to the Iranian waterway, they're going to hit them and they're going to say that's unacceptable. You cannot change the route. So in other words, things still look like they might be. volatile there. What do you see happening with the price is given that sort of while we're in the MOU, while we're in this 60 days, we're still seeing a little bit of hostility in the street. Oh, for sure. I mean, the thing is that's why when people make long-term predictions about what the energy markets are going to do, vis-a-be CNN, you know, saying that we won't see below $70 until 2032. How the heck did you figure that out? There's a reason we have a core inflation index that excludes food and energy prices because they're too crazy to begin with. It's like trying to predict the weather for the next day.
So the thing is, you play it out, you see where the conflict ends. But this is what I've been saying since the beginning. The media know that they can manipulate markets by putting up scary headlines and then myopic commodity traders who have ants in their pants end up trading off of the scary headlines and driving the prices higher. But once this conflict is settled, they know. that prices are going to fall like a rock. And when they do, they're going to drag inflation down with it, which is why, as you said, they're flipping the gold pulse on its head now. No question about it. You know what else is very frustrating to me? We're talking to Joseph Asquez, Associated Editor with MRC, the Media Research Center. I've heard no one pointing this out, that while they were all wringing their hands and clutching their pearls and saw, look what Trump is doing, gases at $4. Even at its worse. Gas at $4.50 a gallon is still not as bad as it was under Joe Biden when it reached its peak of $5.2 a gallon nationally, national average. And Biden wasn't in a war at the time. Even in wartime, the gas prices never got as high under Trump than they did under Biden. I haven't heard not heard one member of the media report that. And you want to hear something funny? That was the highest recorded average price by AAA. It was under Biden, not Trump. I mean, anything is it didn't even have an international conflict to deal with. It just goes to show the level of gaslighting that the media will do. They'll drive up the price of gas by putting up scary headlines, causing the markets to run amok, and then they'll point a trumpet and say, oh, look at that, Orange Man Bad. which is because it's going the other way, now Forbes is flipping the script the other way and say, well, if gas prices fall, orange man, bad too. Give me a break. That's one of the reasons why we like to say we just simply cannot hate the media enough. And I'm glad you guys are pointing out all of their agenda. Joseph, thanks so much for the time. We appreciate it. Thank you so much, my friend. You take care now. Follow the MRC Media Research Center if you want truth about what's going on in the media. 627 now. Let's find out what's going on in the markets this morning. A Bloomberg business report. Our top story, Texas made an official earlier this week asking the feds to reimburse them the billions it's spent to protect you during the Biden border disaster. That means we could soon get money back for the billions spent on Operation Lone Star. The request period doesn't end until I think July 6th. Once that request time closes, really it should take less than a month to allocate that money. Emon Blair with the TPPF says once Texas gets the money, we should reinvest it in more border security. This money must be allocated so that we can understand who, what, where, why, and how anything is coming across any domain. If you just turn the radio on for the first time all week, I've been here all week, and I appreciate the chance to do that. Jimmy, we'll be back on Monday, so return to normalcy for you. But speaking of that story, Cliff just had in the bottom of the hour news, the Senate getting called out for the vacation as the Save America Act stalls. I played for you last half hour, Anna Paulina Luna. calling out the Senate for that and saying the Save America Act absolutely must be passed. Because it is so popular, it's an 8515 issue. You know, who doesn't understand that? Because I just don't think she or they understand much. Whoopi Goldberg. You talk about being out of touch. You talk about just having no clue as to what the American people are thinking or wanting or you're just gaslighting and lying to the American people about what the reality is. But listen to what the view has to say about the Save America Act. I just.
He torpedoed the bill because he wants another bill signed. Yes. Right. And it seems to me no one wants to sign this bill. It doesn't have the vote. It doesn't have the votes. And so he's trying to push it and do all kinds. It's just, it's ridiculous. It's the bill that would force people to. have ID when they come to vote. Nobody wants it. Nobody wants it? 85% of the people in survey after survey, after survey say they want it. Even Democrats say, yeah, that's a good idea. To the tune of 8515, I think it's probably 100% of Republicans, and Democrats make up the rest to the point where the 15% then don't, yeah, definitely are Democrats, but 8515. is not like I said this isn't you know 50 you know 51 49 or even 60 40 or 70 30 85 percent again it's consistent across surveys well the Save America Act which is ironic because it's not it's really saving his behind yeah Save the Donald Trump's behind act. There are probably portions of the saving Eric and a half that could cost the... You look how she paused there for applause. She paused like, wasn't this a really funny line? It's to save Donald Trump's Behind Act. No, it's called saving the country by making sure election fraud cannot continue. I would like anybody within the sound of my voice right now that still thinks Joe Biden got 81 million votes to make yourself heard. Seriously. Used to talk back button. I don't care. Does anybody think Joe Biden got 81 million votes? That the fraud and the cheating in the elections was so bad. It was such a rigged thing. I mean, you know, Barack Obama never got more than 70 million votes. Kamala Harris afterwards got barely 71 million votes. But suddenly, but Joe Biden, who didn't campaign. During COVID, stayed in the basement. Didn't campaign got 81 million votes? He got 81 million votes in 2020. And then four years later, Kamala Harris only gets seven. What happened to the 10 million? What happened to the extra 10 million? She got 71. He got 81. What happened? Ten million Democrats suddenly did not want to come out to vote against Donald Trump and to vote for Kamala Harris, really? The elections are so rife with fraud, our elections, until we make sure no foreigners can vote. That's what the Save America Act is all about. Proof of citizenship to register and then proof of who you say you are with a photo ID when you vote. 8515, get it done. All right, 640 now. Let's do traffic weather here, Skymike. There's no change in our overall pattern through Tuesday, though you may notice some hazy skies starting Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Looks like we might be dealing with some of that desert dust, I like to call it. Loaded mid-90s today and tomorrow, some upper 90s Sunday, still dry and in the 90s Monday and Tuesday. Once again, if you're just tuning in, Bob France sitting in for Jimmy Amy Coney Barrett. It is coming up on traffic here, but we're going to hit this on the other side of it. We do have timeline coming up as well. But we've been talking about socialism. pretty much all week because of what happened on Tuesday in particular, the Tuesday elections in New York in which socialists were victorious in their primaries. And by the way, when you're a socialist and you're running against another Democrat and you win, you're going to be in whatever seat you're running for because no Republican in New York is going to get a shot. So, you know, you're going to have another socialist in Congress, socialist in the New York State Senate, et cetera, et cetera. But we've been talking about this. How bad is socialism? How evil is socialism? We're going to watch. listen to a Democrat squirm when asked a question about that coming right up. That's coming up after we do traffic. It is 650 sky mic. I'm in the Ability Tree Experts Traffic Center. Thank you, Sky, Scott, Mike. And we're looking at 90, 91, 92, 3, 4 somewhere in that neighborhood for highs today, according to Terry. It's going to drop down to about 80 with clear skies overnight. Go back up to doing the same thing. Maybe pushing up from the mid-90s to the upper 90s in the next couple of days as well. No rain in the forecast ostensibly until Wednesday, perhaps. And right now, 81, it's your official, severe weather station. News Radio 740 KTRH. So you may or may not know the name of Lisa Blunt, Rochester, Senator from Delaware. Okay, but you'll know we're now. CNBC's Joe Kernan put her on the spot with all this socialism. The Democrat Party is being taken over by socialist. There's just no two ways about that. They brag about it. Hasan Piker bragged about it. We played some of that for you yesterday. You know, he's a Democrat socialist member. The DSA has grown to over 100,000 members nationally, and they're winning elections. And they're trying to take over a constitutional Republican replace it with a socialist dystopia. although they call it a utopia. At any rate, is there any evidence that that works? Any evidence at all that socialism is a utopia? Socialism helps people rather than harms people. Has it ever worked anywhere? CNBC's Joe Kernan put that question to Senator Lisa Blunt, Rochester from Delaware. And here's how that went. Where has socialism ever worked, Senator? Is that another question or is that for the next interview? That's it. Oh, that's definitely for you. You said fish doesn't work everywhere. I just want to know one place where socialism has been beneficial. Well, when you have me come back on, we can talk about all the races across the country. I mean, does that not say at all? You and your party have run to the left and embraced socialism and communism. Okay, that's what your party has done. Tell us why. Give us the model of socialism that works. And don't try to say one of the Nordic countries. Those are not socialist countries. Those are countries with market economies. Very, very, very different. Find a place socialism hasn't killed and starved people. Just she couldn't do it. You know what? That's a great question for you to save until the next time we talk. I'll go look it up. Trust me, I've done the work. I do the push-ups. I'm telling you, the answer is never, nowhere, anywhere. I've done so much work on this because it is so extraordinary that we need people to know the threat. And I will use every forum that I have, whether it be my online show, my live stream, my podcast, which, by the way, if you would like to watch and listen to, email me, bob at strictly speaking.org. Bob at strictly speaking.org, I'll send you a link to that, just like I'm sending everybody the links to my Sunday morning briefing newsletter. But I've done the work for this. And when I tell you that it has never worked anywhere, I'm saying, look at Russia.
the Soviet Union, look at Mao's China, look at Pol Potts, Cambodia, the Khmer Rouge, look at Castro's Cuba, look at Chavez and Maduro's Venezuela, look at Brazil, look at every country that socialism has been tried. It takes wealthy countries and makes them impoverished countries. It turns people from being, you know, middle class to upper class, to being in the impoverished class, to the point where they have no money. And the collective has it all. And people are resorted to, and I use this a lot because it's true. And firsthand accounts from Venezuela will tell you, people resorting to stabbing rats. behind garbage dumps, trying to clean them and roasting them over open garbage can fires to eat. That's not an exaggeration. That's not hyperbole. That is not a metaphor. That is reality. That's what socialism brings. That's why when you ask a Democrat, when a socialism ever worked, they say, well, I'll have to get back to you on that. Ask me that next interview. Trust me, you won't have an answer then either. 655 timeline time. What do you say? We light it up a little bit and go to the Outlaw Music Festival. You could go for free. And once again, let's get the news from Cliff Saunders. Good morning. It's 702 on KTRH. Our top story. Nearly nine out of ten people who claim asylum end up with their order removal because they don't qualify for asylum. Orders are Tom Homan on Fox as the U.S. Supreme Court gives the Trump administration two wins on immigration Thursday. The first allowed it to turn immigrants away before they get here. The other allows it to strip TPS temporary protected status for Haitians and Syrians. The court has yet to rule on birthright citizenship, though, as nearly 70% say they don't want to change. The president wants to limit it to children of illegal residents. We are expecting more rulings on Monday. At the White House, President Trump tells farmers the U.S. will buy farm goods from them with Frozen Iranian funds and says a full peace deal is still coming soon. A Singapore flagship was attacked by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. There were.
No casualties. Oil prices just above $70 a barrel this morning. David Holt with the Consumer Energy Alliance says as high as prices got, it could have been worse to the tune of $150 a barrel. Now, so much of the oil that we need and frankly that the world needs, it really puts a good isolation block for us and keeps prices from going up as much as they otherwise could have. As for gasoline prices, they dropped again overnight down to 341 a gallon across Houston this morning. Still well above where... we were before Operation Epic Fury started, Chevron predicting that gasoline prices will drop in the coming weeks as oil markets stabilize. Prices at the pump, though, have been dropping for weeks, yet the mainstream media continues to complain. Media was actually a cause of why prices rose to start. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTRH. It is now 705. Local politics now. Call them the walkout Democrats as a pair of Fort Bend County commissioners walked out of yesterday's commissioner's court because interim county judge Daniel Wong was presiding. That's Mary Elizabeth Castle with Texas values. If approved, the changes would take effect in 2030. Earlier this week, Camp Mystic in the Hill Country filed for bankruptcy after the flooding from last year. Some feel that camp was unfairly singled out. Mystic was not the only campground that fell short of keeping people safe one year ago, but they're the only one in the spotlight. State Representative West Verdell says there's a well-funded effort by influential families to keep it that way. They've used the state government to weaponize against Mystic as we saw with the investigation committee. He says the state's focus on Mystic is also an attempt to cover their own mistakes. Two days before the flood, the agency that oversees summer camps approved their emergency plans.

You know what your customers are doing right this second? The exact same thing you are, listening to me, which, let's be honest, is kind of flattering. But my point is, ads on IHeart Radio actually get heard. In the car, at the gym, on the couch, while people are walking their dogs. Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? You're a good boy, that's right, you're a good boy. So why not make the next ad about you? Get started today. Call 844-844-Ehart or go to iHeartadvertising.com. That's 844-844-Ehart or iHeartadvertising.com. We're going to pay some attention to it because, well, this is what it's about. We have seen far too much things. By the way, can we hate on the media for just a minute or two longer here while I talk about this? Why is it that with all of the millions and millions of dollars of resources that CNN, that CBS, that NBC and all of the networks have, why is it that they weren't able to expose so much of the fraud? that an independent journalist like Nick Shirley was able to expose in Minnesota, in California, in Ohio, all over the country. Because of the work done by independent journalists, we're able to find out so much about fraud, the health care fraud bust that was just made. Again, I don't know if anybody was even looking. Whatever happened to the curious media? This kind of stuff was only exposed by independent journalists, and thankfully the government is following up. Let's listen. Health care fraud takedown is the largest in history, with 455 defendants charged across 45 states and territories, and more than 6.5 billion in alleged fraud uncovered. HSI plays a critical role in investigating the transnational criminal networks behind this fraud. identifying and apprehending fugitives overseas and disrupting schemes that span across borders. Using advanced data analytics and financial intelligence to follow money, seize assets, and ensure accountability at every level. Together we've shown that no criminal, no matter how sophisticated or well hidden, can evade the reach of the U.S. government. HSI remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the American people, defending the integrity of our nation's financial infrastructure, and ensuring that those who abuse it are held accountable. This is national health care fraud takedown is the largest in history. This is national ICE HSI. Doing the work, this is the Trump administration, doing things that the media will not give them credit for. And again, these people are acting on tips provided by independent journalists, not by the mainstream media. There was a time when, do you remember Watergate? You remember why?
Remember deep throat? Remember the media used to want to get to the heart of corruption and expose it. That's why it was called the fourth estate. Now they want to cover it all up because it benefits the left wing agenda. And you cannot despise the media enough. We talked about that with 8 MRC a little bit earlier on this morning as well. All right, 710, sky mic. I have laneage 290 inbound, the ramp that goes to 610 north if you're trying to get to the heights. We've got, thanks to trucker, Tim, an 18-wheeler sitting on the side there. We can get around it, but it's causing a skunch from 34th. Now, if you're going the other way on the Northwest Freeway, Nikki from Cyprus. Hi, night. It's Friday. It's only 35 minutes all the way to NRG Stadium from Jersey Village. Boom. Let's get $290. Ah, so well said, extra points for verbiage there, Nikki. You've got downtown, I-Tem Westbound, the roadwork at 45. It's a lifestyle. 45. That's two skinny lanes, the text dot wall of death that way. We are getting squeezed down on 610 North, westbound of 45. That's your usual morning thing. Cajun Mary is listening on the IHeart Radio app with Forrest and Francis. I think those are her cats, Terry. Guy Mike. Hey, do I get a banana sticker for this? Oh, you're rep in Pasadena. Very nice. 90 East on the app. Guy Mike, your old buddy Joe from Crossby, you better be. wearing a firearm if you go to that neighborhood. Be nice. You know, I'm from there. I used to go to the Island Club if you know where that is. I'm in the Ability Tree Experts Traffic Center. Did she say that was a 35 minute drive? Yeah. Well, she said from 290 down the loop over to NRG, so we're good. I'm kind of thinking that could be made in 14 with Mike. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That's just reality. I won't see you all in traffic court today. Terry, I think my yard is finally no longer sponge-like in my backyard. Oh, good. It finally dried out, huh? Oh, yeah. Yeah, okay. Everything's drying out. Now, we're not having rain until Wednesday, Terry. Yeah, no, we are going to be dry and just on cruise control as far as the weather goes with no big changes. It's warm, it's muggy, no rain through Tuesday. Low to mid-90s today and tomorrow. Sunday, we'll see a few places in the upper 90s. Monday and Tuesday as well, it looks like we'll see some places in the upper 90s, but finally getting some rain by Wednesday. All right. We'll take it because we have no choice. Thank you. Right now, 81, at your official severe weather station, news radio 740, KTRH. 59 inbound at the loop is always a problem. KTRH, time-saving traffic. Next on the 10. So what about all that money, huh? All that money that Greg Abbott committed to protecting Texans and protecting Texas from Biden's ridiculous border policies. The money is supposed to be brought back, but it has not been delivered yet. When will it, will it ever? How much are we talking about, too? We're going to ask all those questions of Amman Blair, Texas Public Policy Foundation, right after we check the drive once again at 720, Sky Mike. Clear 290, the ramp inbound to Garden Oaks. That's the one that goes to 610 North.
heading over toward the eastbound. North Freeway, Cyprus would inbound. So far that Rick's on the right shoulder southbound. I think they're going to take a right lane in a few. We will revisit it all at 730. The generator supercenter.com traffic center. Thank you, sir. Terry's forecast calling for high temperatures again today. Pretty much low to mid-90s. Could reach upper 90s over the weekend. Not going to be any rain to cool things down a little bit until middle of next week at the earliest. And right now we're at 81 degrees at your official severe weather station. News Radio 740, KTRH. Now let's catch a couple of headlines here from Cliff. Death toll on the twin Venezuelan quakes at 235 and counting. HPD says four people were shot after an argument over trash in the fifth ward. And Bob, Major League Baseball, is proposing a salary cap and salary floor in its latest collective bargaining offer to the Players Association. The latest news anytime. Let's see if it actually happens. At the latest news anytime at KTRH.com, our next update is at 730. U.S. News. You shut down the government. That means no money for FEMA. And global views. Beautiful armada floating beautifully toward a rent. On News Radio 740, KTRH. Yeah, I mean, look at the Dodgers. They spend like drunken Democrats for crying out loud. It's just not right. It's not fair. It does not equate to a level playing field. Anyway, so Greg Abbott committed a whole lot of money, and there are supposed to be billions of dollars reimbursed to the state of Texas from the federal government for doing the job that Biden would not do, and that is secure the border. What kind of money are we talking about here? Amman, Biller, joining us now, Texas Public Policy Foundation. Ammon, good morning. Hey, good morning, sir. How are you? I'm good. Thank you. Appreciate you joining us here. So what kind of dollars does the federal government of the state? Yeah, really, we spent around $11.1 billion. And right now, DHS is offering up roughly $10 billion, and then also the DOJ is offering up another three. But that is not just to Texas. That is to every state that provided support to secure the border. That includes Florida, those that send their National Guard to help us, like South Dakota, and then California, of course, Arizona and New Mexico. So we actually have to compete for those dollars. So from what I'm seeing in the Texas scorecard article, Congress did include $13.5 billion in funding in the one big beautiful bill to reimburse states for their border security costs. You said you have to compete with the other states. Is that what we're talking about? We don't just have receipts. Here's how much we spent. Give us that back.
No, yeah, we have to compete. We have to, in fact, like for the $3 billion from DOJ, we have to show that we are part of the 287G program, the state does. We also have to provide evidence that we are part of the Homeland Security Task Force that was just stood up. So there's certain parameters given, especially under the DOJ, where we have to prove that we're continuously conducting either immigration enforcement internally and also border security efforts. Talking to Am and Blair, Texas Public Policy Foundation. You know, one of the most enduring images for me of the bio. One of the most infuriating was when Texas put up those, you know, the razor wire and those barriers. And Joe Biden sent a crew with a forklift to get underneath that razor wire and lift it up and let the caravan walk underneath it into Texas. I mean, just you talk about surrendering your border. You're talking about, you know, surrendering sovereignty. That is one of the most enduring things to me. Texas started to get twice what they spent on those barriers since Biden literally, you know, acted in. of federal law and of Texas estate rights as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, 100%. I mean, we have concurrent yet may be subordinate authority in terms of border security, immigration enforcement, but the state does have primary responsibility to protect its citizens. We are a sovereign state, and we have inherent defensive war powers as well as police powers that sometimes the federal government thinks that they can preempt those powers, which is not the case. Well, they did, though. I apologize, Salmon. But they did. You know, they think they can because they did and they got away with it, at least, you know, during that administration. Yeah, 100%. And they did. And you said, and then they destroyed our raise wire. And luckily we won that case. That case was a great win for Texas. But unfortunately, you know, what we're seeing right now, this is kind of interesting because what we're seeing right now, we still don't have 100% domain awareness on our southern border, which is mandated by DHS from the Secure Fence Act of 2006. We still don't have 100% domain awareness. We don't have operational control of the border. And you can see that. Go look. I would have all of your audience. Go look at Lieutenant Chris Olivares. He is the DPS public affairs officer. Go to his Twitter and you'll see all the bailouts, all the FTIs. Right now, I am a consultant for Operation Lone Star Task Force. Our task force is over 64 law enforcement agencies across the state. Guess what? We just got asked to go help.
support the county because they're getting inundated by the Mexican cartels, smuggling, trafficking, of human beings, narcotics, ammunition, you name it. And the federal government cannot provide the security for that county. So we got asked as other law enforcement across the state to go down there and help support. And if you also saw, there's a Breitba article that showed that Border Patrol recently had to send additional 200 agents to the Laredo sector because the amount of gotaways. So look. They still have yet to completely 100% secure our border in Texas. Granted, I get it. It's going to take time. The Biden administration did a lot of damage. And also we have 95% of our border is private property. So that also adds another layer of issues to try to secure it. However, for them to say that you need a piecemeal all the money that was owed back to us and yet still have yet to secure the border is kind of... and disappointed. Super, super short answer to this one, if you could, Ammon, but what about the, when you say we're still not secure, 13 consecutive months of zero releases? Great. Yeah, so that is only one commodity, and that is a give-up. So when we have such a myopic focus on immigration enforcement and our numbers to, quote, quote, secure the border are based off of that metric. Then we often overlook the other metrics. Look, yeah, we're so hyper-focused on illegal aliens and also fentanyl. But all the other numbers. are actually increasing. Cocaine, crystal meth, increasing, Godaways, increasing. All these other metrics that we're not looking at are actually increasing. Okay, that's something we did not know and we need to know. Amman Blair, TPPF, thank you so much for the time. Yeah, thank you so much for having me. You got it. 727. Now let's get to a Bloomberg business report right now and check on the markets. Here is who's with us today. Oh, Dan Schwartzman is with us. Dan Gordet. Good morning. Mortgage rates are once again moving in the wrong direction. According to Freddie Mac, the average for a 30-year fixed loan rose to 6.49% from 6.47% a year ago, though, the rate was 6.77%. I'm Dan Schwartzman, Bloomberg Business on News Radio 740, KTRH.

The Senate getting called out for going on vacation as the Save America Act stalls. And Texas wants to be paid back for Operation Loan Star. When will we get the money back? Good morning. Bob France in for Jimmy Bear. Cliff Saunders has the details on those stories and more coming up. Sky Mike. Hey, we're still getting by North Freeway, Cypresswood, Southbound that Rick's still on the shoulder. We're pointing it stuff and writing stuff down. Maybe they won't have to take a right lane shortly. We'll keep an eye right back at 740. The ability tree experts. Traffic Center. All right. Thank you. Good, sir. Temperature is going to be warm again today. Low to mid-90s. Heat index still triple digits and no rain in the forecast for a bit. Terry Smith will give you the specifics coming up when she checks in at 740. Right now we're going to count 81 still at your official severe weather station. Hold on. Let me recount real quick. Yeah, still 81 at your official severe weather station. News Radio 740, KTRH. Time for the news now. Here's Cliff Saunders. Good morning at 732. Our top story, the battle over election integrity is now House Republicans are calling out Senate Republicans for not passing the Save America Act. The Senate says that they don't have time to debate one of the most popular issues in the country, and yet they've had time to go on vacation. They've had time to literally host dog shows. Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna on Fox. The Senate is on break until July 13th. The president did meet with House Speaker Mike Johnson yesterday about adding the Save America Act to another reconciliation bill. Also on Capitol Hill, did you see this? A House hearing with DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin goes next level over border security and the hundreds of thousands of missing illegal alien kids from the Biden administration. Say a word about it. Mr. Secretary, do not interrupt. Don't you point your finger at me. I will point my finger at you. Don't you be a hypocrite? Then you'd be as upset about the 450,000 kids that were lost. He didn't say a word about it. Mullen confronting Connecticut Democrat Rosa DeLauro. We told you yesterday that Texas Governor Greg Abbott has formally asked to be reimbursed for Operation Lone Star. Turns out we won't get back the full 10 billion that we spent to fix Biden's border mess, though. There's only, I think, allocated almost up to 10 billion from DHS and only 3 billion from DOJ. So we're actually competing with the other states. So we're not going to receive all that money. We're only going to get a portion of that. Amman Blair with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says the funds that Texas does get must be immediately reinvested into state-level border security in preparation for a future open borders precedent. U.S. Supreme Court gave the Trump administration a pair of wins on immigration yesterday. One on asylum claims the other unending temporary protected status for Haitians and Syrians.
It is now 734. Pakistan says there will be more talks between the U.S. and Iran next week. Vice President JD Vance says there's been some progress made despite what the mainstream media is telling you. We created incredible diplomatic, economic, and military leverage. Let's use that leverage to go and accomplish an even bigger win for the American people. That's what he's asked us to do. It's not over yet, but so far so good. That said an Iranian drone did attack a Singapore-based ship in the Strait of Hormuz without causing any casualties. In other international news, the death toll in the twin Venezuelan earthquakes is at least 235. This tragedy spurring international support from multiple countries, including our own. The U.S. military announced that it's surging forces in this region to assist an earthquake relief efforts, which includes sending several ships in a C-130 and C-17 to the area to help U.S. government personnel and search and rescue teams get around during this operation. And again, just a desperate race against the clock to find those survivors. Christina Coleman reporting oil futures at $69.76 a barrel this morning as gasoline prices drop again across Houston to 341 a gallon. It's now 735 and despite efforts by activists and state leaders to reform our public colleges, woke professors still managed to get tenure at Texas A&M, thanks largely in part to the multiple layers of bureaucracy that approve the applications. The public expects accountability. We need a more balanced approach at these universities. They're very lopsided. They're run by leftist. And you might put some conservatives at the very top. But if nothing changes beneath, that's the real problem. Christian Susan Collins with the Texas Youth Summit says it's critical that top level leaders continue to be held accountable. Texas, in the meantime, is leading the country in yet another category, births. People from all over a movie here seeking a better life and census numbers show that when they arrive, they're expanding their families. State demographer Lloyd Potter says some of this is due to our economy. You know, when things are looking a little more rosy, either the birth rate stop declining or may even increase a little bit. He says Texans are having more babies compared with the rest of the United States. We have a higher fertility rate than California, Florida, or New York. ATRH is Carrie Lockhe. epidemic in Europe. Everybody knows by now of the horrific situation in which a young boy named Henry Novak, a teenager, was killed by an alien, a migrant in the UK. And the migrant was treated like he was the victim. And the victim who was bleeding out was ignored by the police. He said, I'm stabbed and I can't breathe. He said, I don't think you have been mate. And they let him die, essentially. Treated him like the victim. It was a racial crime. It was a racial crime and they treated the victim like he was the aggressor because, well, that's what you do when it comes to migrant crimes. So that one was horrific. So was the near beheading of another man. in Ireland, in Belfast, stabbed and attacked and pretty much had his eyes stamped out and nearly beheaded in the middle of the street by another migrant. So we're two for two here, and now let's go to France for this one. And I hate to even bring these kinds of things up, but it's got to be discussed because the same type of migrant crimes are being committed here. A 17-year-old French boy named Lewis was beaten to death by a migrant gang in Narbonne in the early hours of June 20th. So a little over a week ago. The teenager was ambushed, or exactly a week ago, I guess, was ambushed on a construction site and pummeled while the attackers filmed themselves delivering repeated blows to his face. Then they posed over his body as he lay there and die. Literally, posing for one another, taking pictures, making symbols. They, well, they did what these migrant gangs are doing. They are attacking the natives of each of these countries solely because of their ethnicity and their status as natives. The migrants are coming in and taking over. This is happening all over Western Europe, and if you do not think it's going to happen. Well, it's already happening here as well. Be aware, and this is not a call for any action against migrants, but policies need to change. Policies in Western Europe and policies here in the United States as well, because this is a stark reminder that sometimes cultures are not to be mixed, and sometimes these cultures are being mixed with horrific results. Be aware of these things. 741 sky mic dude i think you and uh terry by the way our next trip is going to be galveston island i'll drive all right we're going to hit the no no
All right. I'm not taking another trip. You're not just my friends. You're crash test. I'm driving. Let's come up from the causeway now coming off of Galveston Island, and we're looking pretty good. Let me take it out of your navigation. And I'm in the generator, Supercenter.com traffic center. All right. Thank you very much, Mike. And Terry, you said your drive. Now, if you're driving, we'll go to Galveston. I'm down. I'm not getting behind the wheel. We're getting into car with that guy behind the wheel. High heat and humidity. Temperatures, the load of mid-90s, going to be around 95 or so in some spots today. It's going to drop down to 80 overnight, and then it's going to repeat for the next few days. Terry says some rain, possibly middle of next week. But it is what it is, and right now it's 81. No, look at that.
82. We had to redo a recount. 82, it's your official severe weather station. News Radio 740, KTRH. One more look at the headlines, Cliff Saunders. Thank you very much. Yeah, they shouldn't give them one. They should sentence him to death and they should carry it out talking about Luigi Mangione. Sorry, just had to get a little bit. See, that's what I do. I'm a little bit blunt. I like to call it unfiltered, as a matter of fact. That's what my podcast is called, strictly speaking, unfiltered. I don't have much of a filter. That doesn't mean it's profane. It just means direct, real thoughts. And that's what I've been expressing. And I think that's why so many people have been responding. And by the way, to all of the people who have filled up my inbox in the last 15 minutes saying, I want to be number 500. want to be number 500 i can't i'm trying to count him as i as i paste uh the the links into you but i haven't been able to do that i don't know who got so the last one somebody said can i be 500 i think they were 491 so i have to go back and check when the show's over here to see where we are but literally 500 new subscribers uh to my uh sunday morning briefings since uh i started for jimmy this past uh monday so i really appreciate that everybody who wants to hear what i do and appreciates the matter of fact. Listen, I'm just going to say something directly. All right. There's a headline that I saw earlier this morning on a conservative website that I think really kind of underscores it and says it very, very plainly. If we do not... take communism seriously, meaning the right. If the right doesn't take communism seriously, we are going to be overpowered by it. And that is exactly correct. We have to call things out without being equivocal in our responses. We have to look at things for what they are and we have to be loud and vocal about them. Smack people in the face to wake them up. Not literally, that's metaphorical, but give them what they need to hear specifically and loudly and directly or else it will. will be too late. All right, that's just the way it is. I'm going to call it the way it is in every platform that I have, and I am so grateful to have this platform for a little while in talking to Jimmy's great audience. So I will always give you to you straight and direct. And when I have to tell you something like Tucker Carlson is now an Islamic terror supporter, then I'm just going to have to call it that way. And that's what he is, by the way. I don't have time to play for you the clip. I want to play here of Tucker Carlson admitting that he was, he says now he was wrong to blame Islam for things.
like 9-11. He's now become a terrorist sympathizer. He is now a Qatari dual citizen. At least he bought a home there. It is what it is. I'm going to say it unfiltered and plain for you to hear at all times because if you don't do it that way, if you hide it, you might as well be working for the legacy mainstream media. And that's a propaganda outlet that wants to hide the truth from the people. The people need to know the reality of it. And guess what? It can't just be me. It can't be people like me sharing it. You have to share it too. That's what it's about. So if you, again, want to hear more of what I do when I'm not in for Jimmy, go ahead and send me an email now to Bob at strictly speaking.org. We'll pass over that 500 mark. I'll send you a link to my podcast and to my newsletter, the Sunday morning briefing that you hopefully will be receiving this Sunday at 6 a.m. Eastern time 5 o'clock.
