President Trump last night as the U.S. hits Iran with a ninth straight day of strikes, retaliation for the deaths of several American troops this weekend. Fears of a wider war continue to grow. It comes as another U.S. service member was killed in the line of duty this weekend during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone in northern Iraq. A separate Iranian attack on Friday killed two other U.S. troops in Jim Jordan. A third went missing, but unidentified remains have since been found. The U.S. has been targeting everything from IRGC forces to air defense facilities and weapon storage sites. Adeline Rivera reporting oil futures at $81.90 a barrel as Energy Secretary Chris Wright expects prices to go down even further as the U.S. helps more tankers get through the Strait of Hormuz. What we're doing is assuring that oil and gas and other products can flow through the Strait of Hormuz with or without Iranian cooperation. Dow futures are up 163 points this morning. On Capitol Hill House Republicans moving ahead with budget reconciliation to include funding for the ongoing Middle East operation. And voter regulations as well. Texas Republican Congressman Jody Arrington says time is ticking for Congress to act. We have to get started now because the window's closing. We have about 100 days left before November. And these are the two policy imperatives that we must advance. Including the Save America Act, but there could be a shutdown in September. As for November, the blue wave once predicted by the mainstream media and Democrats appears to be evaporating. New polling shows Republicans have gained three points in the average generic ballot, with one poll showing them in a virtual tie with Democrats. U.H. Political Science Professor Dr. Jackie Bally says issues like inflation and the Iran War have improved for the GOP. The voters are looking at what's actually happening in real time. And as we move further forward to the midterm election, it looks like the key indicators that are impacting our economy are in Republicans' favor. Democratic National Committee apparently launched voter registration efforts at World Cup fan zones and watch parties, something the GOP might want to imitate. I think it's something that our party, as Republicans, we certainly need to do better at registering voters. We just don't do that well. Cleanup continues from the flood in the hill country last week, and we now know that more than 300 kids and staff from Camp Eagle were evacuated. Kerr and Uvaldi County's hardest hit by the flooding. The water made got up, I want to say, I don't know, eight inches. I guess it's about that. That man on San Antonio Television, Governor Greg Abbott declared a major disaster for nearly 30 counties. And this just in, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office confirming that five-year-old Edward Hall has been found dead. It was a subject of an amber alert last night. His body recovered from a lake near his home at about 145 this morning. The Houston Astros lose to the Orioles 5 to 2 and host the Marlins tonight. Our top story after the shooting of Lorenzo Salgado O'Raho earlier this month, orders our Tom Homan says ICE will require officers to record vehicle stops with at least one body camera. But it's not for the reason that the left wants you to think it is. They exonerate more law enforcement than they convict. And I want officers where body cameras. I want the American people see what the officers saw. Oman on Fox over the weekend. The other immigration enforcement news, the Trump administration is reviving a rule to deny green cards to illegals who use public benefits. Right. Marks Bob Price says the illegals used to have to prove that they wouldn't be a burden for a period of five years. Now they get around it.

Through lying about documentation or through the use of anchor babies. Price says most taxpayers want the welfare rolls reduced and not given to illegals. Meantime, the Trump administration also wants to make Texas highways safe from illegal alien drivers again. An investigation has been launched into truck driver training schools with the administration claiming they're helping put non-citizen drivers on the roads. The move is being praised by the trucking industry. We are seeing abuse in our state, much less the rest of the country. John Asparza with the Texas Trucking Association says the investigations putting a spotlight on 75 schools, but he did not know if any are in Texas. The owners are accused of falsifying training records and failing to properly train drivers. ATRHs is Carrie Locky there. It's 533. the U.S. launching more strikes on Iran to, quote, punish the country for the deaths of several service members over the weekend. Kentucky Republican Congressman James Comer reacting. We have to respond when we have a peace agreement that they break and, you know, we have American lives that were lost. We have to respond. We have to respond swiftly and with full force. Meantime, oil futures are at $82.4 a barrel down. Futures are up 112 points so far this morning. Elsewhere, socialist New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani says he's looking at the possibility of wait for it, arresting Israel's prime minister. We'll have more with Richard Lwelling at the Weather Channel coming up in a few moments. And that comes on the heels of last week's flooding that killed at least two people in the hill country. This major disaster declaration includes 28 counties. It's the counties that have been hardest hit by these devastating floodwaters. more counties can and will be added as needed. The governor will give another update later today. Meantime, the cleanup continues. There's quite a bit of property damage, so we're going to go into assessment mode, you know, probably here in the next couple of days. Representative West Verdell says many bridges were wiped out. There are 19 in Kerr County alone. A third of them suffered major damage. In Yuvaldi, there was two feet of rain last week, and one of the bridges collapsed. In Austin, state lawmakers plan to expand on housing reforms. A Texas House committee will meet this week to discuss additional measures to reduce housing costs as their laser focused on increasing supply. Economist JD Vance Ginn says Austin lawmakers passed reform cutting red tape providing more housing across the city. Prices are down 7-8% over the last year. Citing a growing population, Governor Greg Abbott and state lawmakers tried to close the gap between supply and... demand. The best way to do that is to get government out of the way in housing. If you drive slow, you'll keep on driving slow. Because I don't think we do it because we're trying to save gas. I think we do what we do on the roads because of the kind of congestion we drive in. We live in Houston, for God's sake. When you see an opportunity to go fast and make up for the traffic jam you were just in, you probably take advantage of that. 43% of car trips. Evidently, according to this story, include some speeding, 43%. Researchers at the University of Minnesota just found that speeding is costing Americans about 50,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution every single day. Anybody care about that? I didn't think so. Researchers say that if drivers simply stuck to posted speed limits, the country could save more than 6 million gallons of gasoline per day. All you have to do is slow down a little bit.

instead of accelerating and braking aggressively. Following the speed limit would only add about 54 seconds per day for the average driver, we're told. So would you trade less than a minute a day in exchange for safer air, safer roads, and a little bit more money in your pocket? And the answer is probably no for your average American. Like I said, our driving habits have a lot to do with the frustration we deal with most of the time. When you're driving in heavy traffic to back and forth to work, or wherever it is you're going, when the weekend comes and the traffic is not quite as bad, it can still be bad, but not quite as bad, and you have an opportunity to go faster, I think that's just basic human nature to want to take advantage of that. I know I do. I know that when I hit open road, you know, the speed just sort of creeps up. I don't even really notice it unless I see, you know, the police car nearby, in which case I take a look at my speed and go, oops, okay. Take my foot off the accelerator. Yeah, it's birth of butt out there. Tropical Depression number two. Right now, not looking like it's going to be a whole lot by the time it gets to Houston, but there are some places that are going to get a whole lot of rain from this, Richard Llewellyn. Yeah, it looks like definitely for parts of the Florida Panhandle, Southwest Alabama, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and especially southeastern Louisiana, looks like that's probably where it's going to end up moving as we move on through the next couple of days. Keep an eye on those gas prices, folks, because I think there is going to actually be a spike as some of that oil production and the Gulf kind of gets shut down here in the next couple of days as we deal with a strengthening tropical storm as we move into the middle part of this week. In some areas, well, for some restaurants, in particular if you were a Texas barbecue joint, You got a license to prid money with all these Europeans here eating Texas barbecue. If you are grocery stores selling ranch dressing, you probably couldn't keep that stuff on the shelves. Europeans discovered ranch or some of them say ranch. And they really like it. They like that ranch dressing. Here's a report on how the Houston economy fair from ABC 13. Ever since Houston was announced as a World Cup host city that was four years ago, we have heard our local leaders just raving about what a huge economic boom this would bring. The actual results, though, seem to be mixed. If you're coming to Houston, barbecue is kind of a must. People just wanted to see the beef rib just to take a picture of it, but once they saw it, they... They end up buying a whole beverage for themselves. The pit room shares ownership with the Tex-Mex restaurant Cadente. The owner says both restaurants saw a 30 to 50% increase in sales this year compared to last year. With tourists excited to try our local flavor. We haven't heard of the same high percentages when it comes to other types of cuisine, though. As they were going through the line and seeing the amount of meat that we're getting on their plates, it was just... It was fun. Houston First Corporation, which uses both taxpayer funds and private donations to market our city.

released numbers today from the first two weeks of the World Cup. And it turns out fewer people than usual stayed in Houston hotels. But those who did paid more for their states. According to Houston First, Houston Hotel Occupacy in June was down nearly 2% compared to last year. The average daily rate for hotels, though, was up 16%. Occupacy at short-term rentals like Airbnb. and bees were also down 2%, but prices were up nearly 40%. When you have Super Bowl or Final Four, usually the day after they announce, you have no rooms to sell. But in this scenario, we were not even close to that. Enrio Soup is the regional director of sales at the Lancaster Hotel downtown. He says the World Cup brought fewer guests than he expected, and an obsession he didn't see coming. I'd like a Shiner beer in the side of ranch. They were putting ranch on everything. I mean, I thought I was bad. I put ranch on my French fries. Of course, I haven't had French fries a while, but French fries, yeah, ranch is good with, ranch is good stuff. I kind of share their obsession with ranch. I think I'm almost as obsessed with ranch dressing as they are. And I think a lot of them, can you get that through customs? Can you get ranch dressing through customs? I don't think they sell it in Europe. In most places, they may have to, I'll tell what, they may have to start importing ranch dressing for the United States for those Europeans after the trip here. American troops over the weekend. President Trump had the choice. Do we let the status quo continue and they get a nuclear weapon or do we deal with the problem once and for all? And he said, yeah, we're going to do the hard thing. We're going to deal with the problem. Or Florida Republican Congressman Brian Mast oil futures at $82 and 37 a barrel this morning. Oklahoma Senator Alan Armstrong says we have enough supply without Middle Eastern oil to keep prices in check. He wants Congress to create legislation to build new infrastructure. to get oil from one place to another. And the only reason we don't have the infrastructure is because we don't have the political courage to demand that we get those projects built. And it really is right here in Washington in terms of Congress doing their job to straighten out our permitting processes. Armstrong on Foxdown futures are up 126 points this morning. 604, the left is having a meltdown over the arrest of an 18-year-old high school student from Bel Air by ICE. DHS, though defending it, saying that the man overstayed his visa. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin says there's been a 1,300 percent increase in vehicle attacks on ICE agents, part of an attempt to force agents to back down. Can't give veto power to activists. Can't give them the ability, the strength, the authority to veto government programs that are fully within the law, that are required by the law. Todd Benzman with the Heritage Foundation says it's up to the radical activists and even officials who are inciting this to put a stop to it. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship last month, and now Republicans in Congress are making their move against that opinion. There is an invasion of illegals in our country. That's a fact. And that those invaders, their babies cannot become anchor babies. They do not warrant birthright citizenship. Indiana Senator Jim Banks has proposed a bill to tighten requirements for birthright citizenship. A potential blow to the mainstream media. Before trains exist in the United States and you were going everywhere at horseback, what time it was was determined by whatever time they said it was local. There was actually 300 sun zones in the United States alone. It wasn't until railways the time standardization rose to resolve logical and scheduling nightmares and passenger confusing, not to mention fatal railroad accidents. In 1875, there were 75 different railway times in the United States. Three in Chicago, six in St. Louis alone. In 1883, the time zones we know today were introduced as a standard railway time. It was not until 2019, or 1918, rather, by the passage of the Standard Time Act that our five current time zones, excluding Hawaii, were enacted into law. This proposal would be that we go on universal time. Greenwich Mean Time is where they kind of set the time. So our time, the whole world would be on the same time. What would be different is where midday is or when nighttime is. You may have midday at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. You may have midday at 8 o'clock at night depending on where in the world you are. I don't know if they're looking at the licenses of any of their radio properties or not, if they still have any radio properties. I used to work for the mouse way back in the day. But... We're going to talk to Tim Graham about this. He's the executive director of newsbusters. What is the view? Is the view a news program? Is the view an entertainment program? It depends, I guess, and how you define exactly what it is as far as what rules they have to follow. Is the view a news program or is an entertainment program? Oh, I think anybody who watches it would not call it a news show. I think this is funny because obviously in their case, they want to claim they're a news show so they can have complete imbalance because it's like, oh, well, we only had this guest on because they were newsworthy. Well, Look, we have done studies of their guest count. Nick Fonda Carroll sits and tallies it up. And it's like 120 to 2, like 120 liberals and Democrats to two conservatives or Republicans. And that's only if you count Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.., Cheryl Jim Himes, who was required to defend her husband. They all attacked him. And Marjorie Taylor Greene, as we all know, I don't know where you can locate her now. The whole fight about this is that ABC is basically like, you don't get to question our imbalance. The government doesn't get to investigate us. We're not interested in equal time. And this is the funny part is they're like, yes, this is what bona fide news organizations do. They completely slant the agenda and only put on the Democrats. That's, I think, what they're arguing here. Well, you know, it doesn't seem to me to be any different at CBS or NBC. If what we expect out of these new so-called news organizations is equal time, then we need to go about passing a new equal time rule in enforcing it, don't we? Yeah, I mean, this is a very narrow, what we presently have, the FCC thing. It's about 90 days out from an election having actual candidates for office on. So, yes, if you had James Talarico on from Texas, you probably needed to put on Jasmine Crockett, who was also running in Texas. So it's pretty narrowly run. I mean, yes, we all remember to some degree that the Reagan administration, when they came in, they kind of deregulated, they said we don't. need a fairness doctrine. And part of the reason for that at the time was they weren't enforcing it anyway. I mean, the networks have always been this way. They've always favored the Democrats. Well, Tim, here's something else, though. Conservative talk radio had a lot to do with that, too. I mean, this is a conservative talk radio station. We have people with a conservative viewpoint on all the time. We don't exclude people who are.

on the other side, but most of them don't want to come on our show or to come on our station because they know what our political slant is. Yes, and that was actually what I was going to say was one of the things that Reagan administration's policy allowed was then people could put on things like the Rush Limbaugh show and not have to figure out, well, now I need to give another three hours to a liberal nobody wants. So or, you know, Rush Limbaugh was the balance. That was kind of the formula. Conservative talk radio balances out liberal media. That's... So, yes, you'll see liberals now who will run around. They'll look at what's happening to the view and say, well, you don't make liberal, you don't make conservative talk radio balance their guests. And yes, the obvious rejoinder is they won't come on. Yeah, very true. So I guess at the end of the day here, should we just leave the view alone, let the view be what the view is? I think that this is Trump and the SEC, just trying to remind everybody. what these people are and how impalance they are. That's certainly what we're up to here at NewsBusters. I, you know, I'm not, I'm not for an FCC that, you know, rigidly enforces all this stuff. You know, we had conservatives on both sides of this in the Reagan years. And it's like, let the flowers bloom. But, you know, ABC, it's not that, the view is not a news show. The view is a daily pile of misinformation, conspiracy theories, and hate speech. Pennsylvania's John Fetterman, this comes on the heels of another night of strikes on Iran. The U.S. launching a ninth straight night of attacks on Iran as fears of a wider war continue to grow. It comes as another U.S. service member was killed in the line of duty this weekend during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone in northern Iraq. Another soldier was hurt. A separate attack on Friday killed two other U.S. troops in Jim Jordan. A third went missing, but unidentified remains have since been found. President Trump says the U.S.'s latest strikes are to honor the great patriots killed. Ariad Rafferty reporting one of the U.S. service members killed identified as 19-year-old Private Isabella Gonzalez of Carrollton, Texas. Oil at $82.24 a barrel overnight trading is up across the board. On the European front, senators from both parties are pushing to pass a sweeping Russian sanctions bill. This bill not only punishes Russia and energy coming out of Russia, it also hurts.

Iran and it also hurts China. So I believe it's going to pass this week. Texas Congressman Michael McCall on Fox, it is 635. I think body cameras are a way to go. I think body cameras let the American people know what that officer sees when he takes that action. Orders are Tom Homan Ice will require officers to record vehicle stops with at least one body camera as the Trump administration revives a rule that could deny green card applicants from using welfare. The policy known as public charge goes into effect September 18th, ensuring applicants for green cards have to show they wouldn't be burdens to the country or public charges. Breitbart's Bob Price says the only way to get that to stick is to put the legislature to work. We would need to get Congress to do their jobs and pass legislation to codify what the president's trying to do through executive order. Otherwise, it's reversed by the next Democratic president. In the Hill country, residents are picking up the pieces after last week's flooding that killed two people. Now that the floodwaters are receding, cleanup efforts can get underway around Kerrville. State Representative West Verdell says the rain damaged homes and ripped apart their roads. Pieces of the payment were popped up everywhere and even like lifted up and floated, which really surprised to see something that heavy moving around like that. Many bridges were wiped out. There are 19 in Kerr County and a third had major damage. In Yuvaldi, where there was two feet of rain last week, the bridge on FM 481 over the Noasis River collapsed. I think it's got more to do with putting a little scare into them than it does anything else. But let's go ahead and argue the merits of equal time. Because there was a time in my broadcast career when I first started out. that you had to provide equal time. If you had somebody on who was a Republican and the Democrat wanted to come on, if it was within a certain amount of time of the election, you had to have them on. Now, that rule still exists when it comes to election time. But the rest of the time, you don't. And the rest of the time, you know, we tried to put people on our airwaves, just to use our show as an example, we try to put people on our airwaves that we think you're going to want to hear from. Now, not every single one of them is a conservative. We've had John Whitmire on our program, the mayor. We've had other politicians who have been on our program that are not of the same political persuasion or not as conservative as we personally are. And I don't object to talking to people from the other side, but I don't want it to be mandatory. I don't want every time I have a Republican on, I don't want to have to have their counterpart on. Like, we're talking about politicians as, I mean, but why would it matter if they're public officials and they're doing the right thing in public? I'm not here to say that they're like, you know, the greatest person on the planet. This is about. a representation of the values of a party platform. I think that is one of the craziest things that I've heard anybody say, quite frankly. And I don't know who that guy was, Jessica. I think you know what his name is, but I thought his response was really funny when he was like, wait, what? Like, sometimes when you're in an interview with somebody, you're kind of like, okay, like, yeah, and you can just kind of find yourself nodding along. He was not nodding along. He's like, wait, whoa, what did you just say? Because, look, I And I'm always someone who's like, hey, you know, live and let live. I don't like to see too much concern about a candidate's personal life. But I think that I do draw the line in their personal life. They're a Nazi. And I will say that I don't care who you vote for. I think that that's an issue because I think that if you're a Nazi, if you're a literal Nazi, if you believe that Jews are inferior for being Jews, that I think that that. Perhaps you might be a little dangerous being around power if you were in that position. And I thought it was particularly interesting because this woman who said this, she herself has called out Republicans saying, you know, this is Nazi speech, this is Nazi this, this is Nazi that. So she can't do that now. She can't ask people to then care that she's calling someone else a Nazi when she just said it doesn't matter to her if someone's a Nazi. So I feel like, you know, people do make the argument and you can make the argument sure that you can criticize the government of Israel without criticizing Jewish people. However, that doesn't mean that there can't be anti-Semitism by some of the same people who do that. I think that there's separate things we need to look at, but that's not a catch-all cover. And I feel like when you have people saying things as alarming as, I don't care if someone's a Nazi as long as they, pretty much no matter what they say after that is going to be something that's going to really raise my eyebrows. Well, basically what she said is, I don't care if you're a Nazi if you're one of my Nazis.

And as we move further forward to the midterm election, it looks like the key indicators that are impacting our economy are in Republicans' favor. Meantime, DHS is defending the recent arrest of an 18-year-old Bel Air high school student saying he overstayed his visa. Meantime, here's what the mainstream media is not telling you. Attacks on ICE by illegals using their vehicles in an attempt to escape. are up 1,300%. Unfortunately, that number will likely continue to rise as resistance to ICE continues. When they're doing vehicle stops and you're going to try to use your vehicle in some way to interfere with operations, there's going to be trouble. That's Todd Benzman with the Heritage Foundation. He says this is being encouraged by left-wing activists and politicians. The onus for stopping this is not on ICE or the government so much as the other side, the activists who are inciting this. He says despite this, ICE must continue.

He ended up, according to ICE, he ended up. trying to hit an ice agent, he was shot and killed. We've seen attacks just continue to increase on ice vehicles virtually all the time. You can understand, I think, why the folks at ice are a little on edge when it comes to this. Tom Homan says that they're all going to get cameras. He wants you to see how people treat his ice agents. We'll talk to Todd Guy Benson.

Latest news of ICE is Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. Threatening states, actually, intensifying warnings to undocumented immigrants, you know, illegals. emphasizing that enforcement operations will be carried out aggressively. He has specifically warned people without legal status, including those with temporary protected status, to apply for permanent legal residency or leave the United States. He's also wrapped up after a very, very brief pause. in pursuing vehicles. ICE is pursuing vehicles again. I don't think they even lasted more than 24 hours. So that policy is back in effect. And of course, we had that incident here in Houston just a few weeks ago. Join us to talk about all this is Todd Benzman. He's at the Heritage Foundation. You know, Todd, it's kind of a fine line here. Whenever we have a shooting incident involving ice, you know, we have all these protesters who turn out. in order to protest ICE and we kind of go back to the PR square one again. That certainly is what has happened here in Houston with the shooting that involved an ICE agent here in Houston. Yeah, well, thanks for having me on this morning. Sure, this is a PR war. It's an information war. But ICE is not going to back off. They're not going to cede to a bunch of demonstrators veto power over enforcing federal statutes, which require this. That's just not going to happen. So we have to remember that the number of attacks by vehicle against ICE.

officers is up over a thousand percent. They're being hospitalized, threatened long-term stays in intensive care, that sort of thing because of vehicular attacks that are happening because Democratic politicians and leaders are expressly inciting them to run, to evade. to escape and for people to interdict and get involved physically in blocking law enforcement operations. It's just terrible. Really the whole onus needs to be not on ice and whether they continue their normal routine operations. But on the other side that is inciting this violence against them and creating all of this as a big public show, it's dangerous. Yeah, it sure is. I saw where not all ICE agents have had body cameras. The blame was kind of put on Democrats for that too because of all the funding holdups they had. as it relates to the ICE program. But Tom Homan says he's going to make sure that all ICE agents have body cameras if for no other reason he wants the rest of us to see just how poorly his agents are being treated. Yeah, I have to agree with that too. Everybody wants, we can all agree that everybody wants body cans, but I can probably guess that ICE wants them way more. than anybody else wants them to be able to exonerate their people from early judgments about guilt. Their guilt, that they're in these narratives that ICE agents are out there hunting down illegals just for the pleasure of sport killing them or something like that. That's not happening. I've spent a lot of time with ICE officers who are doing this duty and have been involved in and around some of these shootings, and they feel awful when this happens. It absolutely becomes this burden on their lives for years and years. They need counseling, all kinds of, nobody wants this. That's not what officers are about. They're just trying to do their jobs. and people are interfering with it and attacking them and inciting others to evade and get away. It's just... It's on the other side. I'm sorry. The other side has to be held accountable. Well, and how do we hold them accountable? Because so far, we haven't done much of a job of doing that. After a while, we do have something called free speech in our country. But this is, to me, this is tantamount to the proverbial crying fire in a crowded theater, what they're doing to ICE. Yeah, I mean, what I would call for is, you know, public officials, the mayor.

city council members, local Congress, members of Congress and the Senate to change their rhetoric, to use their free speech for good for good instead of danger. And number two is I would call on police and ICE officers to arrest those who are physically intervening. in these operations and hold them to account, put them in jail if necessary, and for your local district attorneys to hold on, to hold those charges. You know, a lot of times they just drop them. Right. Because they're liberals, so they just drop them. Yeah, that's what needs to happen. No, you're right, but that's going to be the toughest thing to get cooperation from the DAs. Todd, thank you so much for your time this morning. Good to talk to you. It's time now for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders. 733, our top story following the shooting of Lorenzo Salgado O'Rahoe. Borders are Tom Homan and says ICE will require officers to record vehicle stops with at least one body cam, but it's not for the reason the left wants you to think it is. They exonerate more law enforcement than they convict. And I want officers where body cameras. I want the American people see what the officers saw. Holman-on-On-Fox, other immigration enforcement news, the Trump administration revives a rule to deny green cards to illegals who use public benefits. Wright's Bob Price says immigrants used to have to prove they wouldn't be a burden for five years. Now they can get around it. Through lying about documentation or through the use of anchor babies. Price says most taxpayers want welfare rolls reduced and not. given to illegal aliens. Meanwhile, the administration also wants to make Texas highways safe again. An investigation has been launched into truck driver training schools with the administration claiming they're helping put non-citizen drivers on the roads. The move is being praised by the trucking industry. We are seeing abuse in our state, much less the rest of the country. John Asparza with the Texas Trucking Association says the investigations putting a spotlight on 75 schools, but he did not know if any are in Texas. The owners are accused of falsifying training records and failing to properly train drivers. KTRH's Carrie Locky, 734, the U.S. launching more strikes on Iran to punish the country for the deaths of several American service members. We have to respond when we have a peace agreement that they break and we have American lives that were lost. We have to respond. We have to respond swiftly and with full force.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer on Fox, one of the service members killed identified as a Texan 19-year-old private Isabella Gonzalez. Oil futures this morning at 8233 a barrel. The Dow futures are up 79 points. Elsewhere, socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani says he's exploring the possibility of arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during an upcoming visit, calling him a war criminal. State Representative West Verdell in Austin, state lawmakers plan to expand on housing reforms. A Texas House committee will meet this week to discuss additional measures to reduce housing costs as their laser focused on increasing supply. Economist JD Vance Ginn says Austin lawmakers passed reform cutting red tape providing more housing across the city. Prices are down 7-8% over the last year. Citing a growing population, Governor Greg Abbott and state lawmakers try to close the gap between supply and demand. The best way to do that is to get government out of the way in housing. Well, the president's in particular not happy with ABC. I'm really not really happy with any of the mainstream media when you get right down to it. And that's why it's kind of weird to me that the FCC has decided they're going to be picking on the view.

Maybe because the view has tried to kind of skirt around some of the reasons why they do what they do by claiming that there are a news program. They're not a news program. It's a, it's a, I'll use the term loosely, not my idea of entertainment, but, you know, it's an entertainment program. You know, it's not a full-blooded news program. I wouldn't consider the view to be like ABC World News tonight. I stretch the imagination, although that is slanted, just as their morning program is slanted too. I'm past the point of caring about things like equal time. There are people who wish we could go back to the equal time days, the pre-Regan days, when you had to have both points of view on the air. You had to give equal time to opposing points of view. on everything you did. And I think conservative talk radio is what changed all that. The understanding that you were always going to have a liberal bias from the mainstream media, but now at least with conservative talk radio, you could have a right bias. And I'd be the first to say, we are a right-leaning radio station. I am a conservative. All of our talk show hosts that we air are conservatives. You know, we cater to that audience. That's who we want to talk to. That's who we're trying to appeal to. I don't want to have to talk to James Talarico unless I want to. I'd never want to talk. There's some Democrats I would never want to talk to because they would just infuriate me. So my question is, do you long for a return to equal time where all sides of every issue are always covered by all programs? Or do you prefer the way it is now, which means that if you don't want to subject yourself to the view, you just don't watch it. If you don't like my opinion, you just don't listen. See it from Webster. I think it can regulate it, but it really is not going to change. So why bother? I turn it into the show because it talks about things that I want to hear. And Jimmy, you do a fantastic job of giving the news. You don't yell or scream or even worse, whisper. You just deliver it and you deliver it calmly. And I like that. The U.S. conduct strikes on Iran for a ninth straight day, and the U.K.'s Josh Kerr broke the world record for the mile this weekend, running it in an astounding three minutes, 42 seconds, breaking a 27-year-old record. Why is it always lettuce? I love salads. I don't know why it's always got to be lettuce. In this case, lettuce coming from Mexico. Although, if it's got the name Taylor Farms on it, I'm being out right now, I'm just, I'm just telling, I'm considering it all suspect at this point. We know that there are whole slew of states involved in the recall. That includes Texas. So it would behoove us to look in the fridge, see if you've got anything there from Taylor Farms as far as lettuce goes. And I'll leave it up to you. What do you decide to want to do? At the very least, you'd have to very thoroughly wash it. in order to make sure. And even then, I don't know that that would feel completely good about it. I saw Dr. Robert Redfield over the weekend. Former CDC director, here he is talking about, you know, this parasite and Taylor Farms and what you need to know about. Being as safe as you can around things like lettuce. Clearly, if it comes from that company for sure, the Taylor Farns Company, you know, I think we're going to get a better handle on this now that they've recalled this lettuce to see if the outbreak stops or if the outbreak doesn't stop. And that will give us a sense that there may be other contaminated products in the market. Do you believe that there's any... one factor here that is contributing to how difficult it was to determine the source. Well, I think there's several things that influenced the challenge here, but you are right. One of the things that I've tried to stress is I think it was a big mistake to cut back on our food safety surveillance programs. When I was CDC director, we had a very robust program that we operated in partnership with the FDA. And as you mentioned, attract a number of pathogens, including cyclospora, in all the states, in a cooperative way. And unfortunately, that's been cut back. I think that's a mistake, and it should be reversed. I've told people I have a lot of respect for Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. I think it'll be one of the most consequential health secretaries we've ever had. But cutting back on our surveillance programs, I think, was a big mistake. The second reason it's really difficult is when you get cyclospora,

You don't really get sick until about two weeks after you've ingested the infected pathogens. So it's not immediate. It's not like when you get norovirus or, you know, staph aureus food poisoning, which happens within 24 hours, 48 hours. So I think that's a problem. And the third problem is we don't really have a tracking mechanism for the organisms. When I was CDC director, we developed genetic tracking. of a lot of organisms, E. coli, salmonella, a number of them that we could really show that's the exact same bacteria and really track it. We don't have that for cyclospore. Yeah. So a couple things stand out there. Number one is that, you know, Doge made some cuts that maybe had a little bit of an impact at least on trying to get this thing figured out. Although I think they did a pretty good job of figuring out as quickly as they could. The thing that scares me the most about this particular parasite is that it has such a long period where it can be in your system before it actually attacks you, you know, a couple weeks. That's like a ticking time bomb. Then you start going, geez, I had some lettuce last week. I wonder if I'm going to have a problem a week from now. Hopefully not.
