12 p.m. News on Demand - Centcom denies report of U.S. warship struck by Iranian missiles

Good afternoon. I'm Raphael Warnock. U.S. Central Command is denying reports of a possible missile strike on a U.S. Navy vessel on the Strait of Hormuz. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned Iran the U.S. is willing to respond if they do choose to fire on U.S. ships. And the U.S., we are just firing if fired upon. We are not the provocateurs here. But if the Iranians want to escalate here, we are willing to escalate. Overnight, Iranian state media said two missiles had struck the warship after it ignored warnings to halt. CENTCOM says no such attack occurred. It all comes the day after President Trump announced that a mission would begin today to escort stranded ships out of the narrow waterway. The Supreme Court is restoring mail order access to an abortion pill for now. The High Court issued an emergency order today to give the justices more time to consider the issue. On Friday, a federal three-judge panel halted a federal rule that allowed Miffiphystone to be prescribed through telemedicine and then delivered by mail. The owner of Monacoa Brewing Company is getting into the race for Wisconsin Governor. Kirk Bankstad made the announcement on Saturday. The Democrats announcement comes after he was interviewed by federal authorities for a social media post he made concerning the gunmen who tried to enter an event attended by President Trump. The Marinette County Sheriff's Office says it has identified a person of interest in the January fire at the North Point Exotic Dance Club. Investigators believe someone tampered with the propane system leading into the building, using that to set the fire. We had a person of interest that we were looking at and talking to once, and then we had another interview set up with this individual, and he's now deceased, so we weren't able to actually get that interview with him at that point. That's Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller. Authorities also confirm the person of interest. was a volunteer firefighter with the Grover Porterfield Fire Department, which is the same department that responded to the North Point Fire. Four of Green Bay's elementary schools are closing at the end of this year. Yesterday, many took a trip down memory lane to visit their old stomping grounds one last time. Marsha Tower taught at MacArthur when it opened in 1969. Lots of hugs, a few tears. I was very much looking forward to it. I was contacted by some of the students I had my first year teaching and they are all retired. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Elmore, and Langley Elementary Schools will also close after the school year.
