Chris Richards filling in for Jason Jay Jones on Daybreak. 92-5 Fox News are waking up this Tuesday, December 30th, 2025, just a couple days left. and we're heading into the new year. I can't believe it. By the way, y'all are cracking me up with these tax messages this morning. I mean, you are, people are on fire this morning. I would like to also talk to people, too, because I love having conversations. If you want to chat, 239, 479, 5592, man, we have a very colorful group of listeners here in Southwest Florida because I love reading through the comments. And everybody is just so, the reason I love it is because everybody has such a strong opinion and personality. And we're going to talk about a lot of things this morning. Right now, we're going to get into the discussion of the Second Amendment. But also later on, and Rob, you've done a lot of shows with me at this point, so you know, I love talking about foreign policy and geopolitics. And we're going to get into Russia and Ukraine, because like I said, a few minutes ago in the show about this attack on one of Vladimir Putin's residences, Ukraine is saying, we had nothing to do with it. Well, I mean, does it make sense? Is it logical? The Russians are so diabolical. They're going to attack their own president's residence? I just, look, I know some people have that Cold War, like kind of thinking, like, yeah, the Russians would do something like that. I understand some people feel that way. I think that's absurd. Personally, I don't think it would, why would they do that? I don't think they want to derail some sort of a settlement with Ukraine. I think they want to get to it. I think they've been waiting a long time for the United States to facilitate it, which is what President Trump is doing. But I do believe that attack. If Ukraine didn't do it themselves, they certainly had help. by the intelligence services, probably MI6, probably CIA. And yes, the United States is involved, but not because President Trump wanted them to be involved. Because there are, and I do believe this, I think there's plenty of evidence, and a lot of people agree on tax, that there are members. the deep state people in this country that are working to undermine the efforts of President Trump. I firmly believe that. I believe the man has good instinct and he's doing the right thing, trying to find a settlement and making a deal with the Russians and Ukrainians. And I think there are people that do not want to see that happen. And of course, there's one major reason why they don't want to see that happen. Because they want perpetual war. And that's why I think. We're going to talk about that later. But right now I want to get into the discussion of the Second Amendment. I visited my family in Colorado for Christmas. Now, we've been there. My family got there in the 80s. And my grandfather, again, and many of you've heard the story. He was an immigrant to this country, and he loved the idea of liberty and freedom. The Constitution was magical to him, and he wanted to live in this country, and he literally almost died trying to get to this country. And he came here, and he always cherished his rights. He cherished his rights to the fullest extent, be it freedom of speech and Second Amendment.

I owned one of his cars after he passed away because it was handed down to me. It was an oldest user trooper, and he had a National Rifle Association sticker on the back of that car. And I drove it around, and I always felt a sense of pride. Because when I was young, I was taught about the responsibility of owning a gun. Now, I grew up in a time, which was not so long ago, 25, 30 years ago, when I was a kid, when I first shot a gun at age five, And I learn how to carry a gun and I learn the responsibility of a gun. And my grandfather taught me those very things. Your right to own firearms. You're right to protect yourself and defend yourself and your family and learn how to use it responsibly and understand how to take care of it. I learned all of those things, and I cherish those things. And, you know, we have some liberal family members and friends who are aghast still that we own guns in our family. In fact, when I know it's crazy, right? I mean, how dare we want to defend ourselves and protect our property and our rights? 239, 479, 5592, your calls and your attacks. So I grew up having a profound respect for the Second Amendment. I grew up learning how to shoot guns, how to defend myself. And my grandfather challenged me when I was young. He would say, you know, so many people thought, I'm going to get a gun. But you have to understand. You have to be, you have to learn how to shoot a gun. Learn how to respect the power of a firearm. All of these things are so necessary before you open up your mouth and start talking about how you're just going to buy a gun. Like granted, it's your right. I'm not denying that. But at least understand and respect the power that you are going to have in your hands when you purchase a firearm. And that's something I learned when I was a kid and I cherish it. And it's important to me. And those rights should never be infringed upon. The Second Amendment makes it clear. Now, here's the irony. In Colorado, when my grandfather passed, we as a family, we inherited a lot of guns. My grandfather owned a lot of firearms. Like 215 of them. I know it's to some people, it's a shocking number. And you can imagine the liberal friends and family are, we're aghast by that. My grandfather was a hardworking, taxpaying American, never once committed a crime, was a devout Christian, loved his family, one of the greatest men that I have ever known, and I respect so much still and I love him so much. 200 and something guns. Now, For the sake of just like kind of like, you know, reducing some of the size of the estate, we sold some of the guns. And it was easier to do that in the early 2000s. We still have those guns. And when I go, I open up the safe. I clean them. I admire how some of them are gorgeous. One in particular, TriStar side by side 410. It's one of my favorites. It's a beautiful gun. for hunting. I mean, granted for self-defense, too, but when I go into the mountains, I always take it with me, and I have a sidearm as well. I like my barretta. And I love, I enjoy these guns. Target practice is fun for me. Obviously, when you're in the wilderness in Colorado, you have to defend yourself sometimes from large animals. So, and sometimes, you know, there's always a threat of people that are, that don't have good intentions. So for whatever reason you own your firearm, it's you're right. But what scares me,

is the governor of Colorado. And this is not just a Colorado problem. There are states all over the country. And there are people inside of the federal government that want to take away or limit your rights. It's not a privilege to own a firearm. It's your right. Jared Polis, who I can't stand, who's made it unlivable, by the way, for the state of Colorado and my parents. It's so expensive to live there now because of him. The Democratic legislature there, have signed into law one of the most restrictive gun control measures in the country when it comes to semi-automatic firearms with detachable magazines. Starting August 1st, 2026, the manufacturer sale and purchase of common semi-automatic rifles and handguns with detachable magazines will be heavily restricted or outright outlawed for new purchases unless someone jumps through a complex government control process. So now, on August 1, 2026, If you want to buy a firearm there, you have to go through a permit to purchase scheme. Apply to a local sheriff just to be eligible, complete state-approved training, pass written exams, get vetted by law enforcement. Now, this is the part that scared me. Be added to a state database. No thank you, big brother. No thank you, Senator McCarthy. I don't want to be added to a state database. I'm not a criminal, and you have no right to be restricting my right to own firearms. What this is is a permission slip regime, basically, is what they're trying to impose. Colorado was never that liberal. It was actually a pretty, with the exception of Denver or Boulder, it was a pretty conservative state. My family lives in Colorado Springs. That's a El Paso County's red. I mean, you know, it's like culturally, socially, it's akin to a lot of Florida communities. It's very similar where my parents live, but the state has been overrun by insane Democrats. Jared Polis, the crime rates have gone up. People own guns in Colorado. There were less crime then than there is now. And they're trying to restrict firearms. So think about that for a second. The Democrats come in, they turn everything upside down and destroy everything per usual. The governor there is defending me as safety measures. Claiming Colorado should be trained and educated. Trained in, oh, I need an elitist Democrat politician from Colorado to tell me how to own my gun. Right? It's crazy. Let's talk about Florida. In Florida, the core principle has been protecting gun rights, not limiting them. In 2023, we passed permitless concealed carry. So if you were eligible to carry concealed firearms or that a government license permit or required training, that's a true recognition of Second Amendment as a right, not a privilege. 239-479-55-92, your calls and your text. Our attorney general declared that open carry is now the law of the state here in Florida. That means Floridians, law-abiding adults, just like you and me, can now openly carry firearms in public. Publix, the grocery store is already adapting. They're allowing customers to comply with a new open-carry policy where permitted. In Colorado, I did open-carry. Most of the time, I don't carry it loaded, although it is my right. I usually carry it, and you know why? Because what if I'm pulled over? I don't want...

law enforcement to think I'm a threat. And I've been pulled over before in Colorado with guns in the car on my, usually my way into the high country. I've been pulled over. I got pulled over for speeding. I know. By the way, he let me off with a warning. But I remember, officer, I just want to let you know. I'm headed up to the mountains. I'm headed up to the wilderness. And I do have a couple of firearms in the trunk. It's unloaded. I just wanted to let you know. They're like, no problem. That's where the conversation ends. No problem. Pulling you over. You're going seven miles over the speed limit. Just watch yourself going up through the past. No problem. That's where it ended. That's the kind of freedom that my grandfather loved. One aspect. That's kind of freedom that I love. And now we've got it here in Florida. It is your right. It's your right, not a privilege. Don't a firearm. And in Florida, we have made strides with enforcing that concept. Colorado wants to treat gun ownership, the Democrats and their crazy left governor, wants to treat gun ownership as a privilege to be earned. A privilege to be, it's not how it works, right? You understand that we don't cowtow to the government. The government's supposed to cowtow to us. We're the ones that tell them what to do. Big Brother and Jared Polis in Colorado don't get to tell me what to do. Florida's model treats gun ownership as a fundamental right, which it is. Permanelist carry, open carry recognizes constitutional and fewer barriers to law-abiding citizens exercising their right. I understand that some places are no gun zones. But overall, the trajectory in Florida is expanding freedom, not constricting it. It's one of the many reasons I like living here in Florida. And trust me when I say, in places where there's been a history where people have more freedom to own firearms, there's historically been less crime. I can tell you this from personal experience. Growing up in the 80s and the 90s, the 2000s, back and forth, living in Colorado a couple times, being near my family, I've lived all over the country, but I remember my experience there was much different than it is today. And is it in a coincidence? that in the last five years, especially, under Jared Polis's watch in Colorado, the leftist liberal Democrat, that you see your rights being extinguished and your rights being taken away, and they're doing everything to basically, what would be the right word, to, is it inoculate, to... cut off your rights into basically what's what's what's what's the word i'm looking for rob i can't think of it right now it's when they everybody don't laugh when they cut off a man's you know what What is that called? Castration. There we go. Sorry, I've been running around in circles. See, you didn't need me for that one. Sorry. People are like, is this guy going to make the point for the last 45 seconds? They want to castrate people. They want to castrate people. Every little bit, it's attrition, through attrition, every little bit. Like Chinese water torture, trip, trip, trip. They want to take away your rights. That's what they're doing. It's conditioning.

It's not just theoretical. It's about your ability to protect yourself, your family, and your property. In Florida, these choices define our state identity. Are we a state that empowers its citizens or one that hands liberty over to bureaucrats? We've made our choice, and that's why Florida continues to be a beacon of constitutional freedom in a country where other states are moving in the opposite direction. And that, my dear friends, the Southwest Florida is why the Second Amendment isn't just about guns. It's about the future of liberty itself in America. If you believe gun rights should be absolute, or if maybe the government should be able to limit them, I know there are some people out there that feel that way that listen to 925 Fox News. Your text and your phone calls. We wrap up the last couple days at 2025-239-9-5-92. Russia has accused Ukraine of targeting a presidential residence of Vladimir Putin. And of course, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine is saying it's typical Russian lies. Of course, President Trump has weighed in on this when he was asked about it. If we could pull that clip up and play. What he had to say? Don't forget, you know, the Tomahawks, I stopped the Tomahawks. I didn't want that. Because we're talking about, you know, it's a delicate period of time. This is not the right time. It's one thing to be offensive. It's another thing to attack his house. It's not the right time to do any of that and can't do it. And I learned about it from President Vladimir Putin today. I was very angry about it. That was President Trump yesterday at Mar-Lago. here in Florida when asked about it. And he said the attack is not good. Well, yeah, definitely not. And he said it's the wrong time for such an action. Now, of course, the Ukrainians are saying that the Russians are lying. The Ukrainians didn't have anything to do with a drone strike on one of Vladimir Putin's residences. I just want you to sit and think for a second. Why would the Russians do a false flag and try to derail... this peace process, if you can call it that now. Why would they try to derail the negotiations now? They've got everything they want, which was they wanted an end to this war, and they wanted to finish this up, wrap it up, and President Trump and his team led the negotiations to stop this from getting out of control. So it's highly unlikely that the Russians... flew a drone or attacked one of their own presidential residences. It's highly unlikely. It doesn't make any sense. We're in a very fragile moment in the progress towards peace right now. And that's what President Trump is saying. They have potential to unravel everything that's been done. And this matters because... Just a couple days ago, President Trump met with Volodymyr Zelensky from Ukraine in Florida. And at that meeting, Trump highlighted that the two sides were closer than ever to reaching a deal. And isn't an interesting how this happened? 239, 479, 55, 92. I said this earlier, and I stand by this. I don't think it's a coincidence. The deep state thrives on conflict. Endless wars keeps bureaucracies powerful. It keeps Pentagon budgets inflated. It keeps the military industrial complex humming along. And it keeps politicians and influencers relevant. If peace were to break out, if Ukraine and Russia actually sat down and made real progress.

all of those people would lose leverage. And let's not forget that they've basically been running foreign policy for the last, well, I've been to say since the Bush era, those crazy neocons that have done everything they can to infiltrate Washington, bend the ear of the president, and essentially influence and manipulate the choices that are made and are foreign policy. They've been there and they're a toxic cancer that need to be eradicated, in my opinion. And President Trump has a lot of sense and he has a lot of good instinct. And since the beginning with the issue of Russia and Ukraine, he's been on the right track. He's been on the right track. He understands what's at stake here. Remember, under the Biden administration, remember, they were saying, a Russia's going to lose and they're going to be economically crippled and blah, blah, blah, what happened? All of those things never happened. Russia knew that fine. You want to go in on it and you want to keep throwing weapons into Ukraine and you want to keep fighting a proxy war? Go ahead and do it because we'll just keep fighting it. We'll just keep producing weapons. We'll just keep beating them down and beating them down and beating them down. And that's exactly what's happening. I'm not saying that the Russians haven't lost. lives hundreds of thousands of people have been killed Ukrainians and Russians but what I am saying is that perpetual war is what these bad actors inside of the United States and Western powers want including some of the allies there in England like the intelligence agencies are working against their own elected leadership to make sure that these perpetual wars continue I think forces are actively undermining peace and they don't care about truth or diplomacy. They want perpetual war, not a lasting solution like the one that President Trump and his team are trying to push forward. He ran on being the president of peace and he wanted to end these wars. Let this man solve this problem. I don't believe for a second that the Russians decided to attack themselves. And by the way, I actually don't think the Ukrainians would be so bold to do it themselves either. But I do believe that they're being helped. And it's likely that they're being helped by forces who are trying to undermine President Trump that exist in this country and in our Western allies inside of their intelligence agencies. I do believe that. And here's the thing. Most Americans are waking up to this, including the people that are listening right now. Somebody just said Russia's economy currently running on wartime, Russia is, you know, screwed when the war is over. That may be true. But their economy didn't collapse overnight like the, like many of people inside of the Biden administration said it was going to years ago when the war started. They had grand aspirations. The Russians are going to fold overnight. The economy is going to collapse. None of that happened. And the war never came to win. It doesn't matter how many weapons they give Ukrainians to fight the Russians. This is not going to end. The Russians are just going to keep fighting it. And President Trump understands this. And he's like, I'm not going to let this go on. This is absolutely absurd. And the implications of it.

The implications of, remember when Volodymyr Zelensky was at the White House with him many months ago, and he's like, you're messing with World War III. This needs the nuclear war. You need to stop this now. We do not want to escalate this. I don't want to hear squabbling. I don't want to hear BS. Stop it now. We're not giving you any more Tomahawk missiles. That's the reference, by the way. Do you really want to instigate a massive global conflagration? Americans don't want this. We don't. We're so exhausted. From hearing about wars, we want peace and stability. Not only in our own country, America first, remember, we want it in the world globally. We want our leaders to negotiate, not escalate. President Trump is trying to negotiate. Let the man do his job. Stop interfering. Kick these slimy little neocons out of Washington. I'm sick and tired of them. And that's why Trump's message resonates. He ran on being the president of peace, not a president of endless conflict. Not a president who coweres to the warmongering lobby, but a president who tries to protect American interests while negotiating peace abroad. We've seen the pattern. Every time there's a chance for diplomacy, someone throws a wrench in the gears. And who do you think that is? And I think the American people are fed up. They're saying loud and clear, we don't want war. We want leadership that seeks peace responsibly. Ever since day one, when I heard Trump's comments on how he would solve the Ukraine and Russia conflict, I was like, this man has a good instinct. He doesn't have to be an expert in political science or a PhD. or a commentator on geopolitics to understand what makes sense. He has good instinct and he followed it and he's following it. Let him do his job. Think about the stakes. If unverified claims or political maneuvering derail negotiations, the result isn't just frustration. It's more lives lost. It's continuation of the war. It's more resources spent. Money that is being spent overseas. That's American tax dollars. Your tax dollars, by the way. We're already feeling the crunch here at home. All of these expenditures, all of these endless wars, it needs to come to an end. And more global instability, which is terrifying for all of humanity. It's not abstract. Americans' lives are at stake, not just Ukrainians and Russia. This is why leadership matters. President Trump has repeatedly emphasized that we need, we have to have carefully, and we need to carefully navigate these situations. Act in ways that promote peace when possible, defend our interests, but avoid letting extremists and bureaucrats hijack the process for their own power. Notice how every single time a new administration comes through. It's just like garbage in, garbage out, right? Trump is different in that way, both in first and second in the White House, his first and second term. He finally had a chance to get back in and actually, you know, put rubber to the road. And he's doing it in regards to Russia and Ukraine. I do not believe. And you can disagree with me. 239, 479, 5592. I do not believe. And this is what the implication is by some of the news media outlets, especially on the left.

Well, the Russians attack themselves and they're trying to use it as a false flag to derail the negotiations. What a massive projection in lies. And the Ukrainians are saying it wasn't us. No doubt it wasn't them. I don't think they pulled the trigger, but I do think that they had help in doing it. And of course, they would never admit that. And I stand by my position that there are. People inside of the deep state. People talk about the deep state. They think it's a conspiracy. But we're talking about people inside of the state department and inside of CIA, inside of DOD. They would like nothing more than to see these wars continue on and on and on. Because they have these like wet dreams of being this crazy hegemonic imperial power. And the world has changed. And you're hearing more conservatives talk about it. The world has changed. It's a multi-node, multipolar world now. And what frustrates me is it never even dawned on me that the United States wouldn't lead the world. The United States can and will lead the world. It can. And we should continue to lead the world. Just because the world is changing and the balances of power changing a little bit doesn't mean we can't be the leaders of the world. But when we've got... a bunch of malevolent gremlins that are embedded in state CIA defense, navigating and pushing foreign policy in a certain direction. By the way, under Biden, it was one of the worst I've ever seen. That little jerk secretary of state blinking. What a scumbag. What a slimy little scumbag with that little face, that slimy little scumbag. I could not stand him. The arrogance. You can see it in his face. He acted like he was meek and quiet and soft-spoken, but you can see the underlying arrogance. All of those people at State under Blinken, a lot of them, by the way, did you know this? I don't know if you know this, but a lot of them, including their spokespeople, people that aren't even involved with the policy, they just kind of announced it at the podium. Many of them were ex or former CIA. officers that were field officers that did intelligence operations. I don't trust these people. I don't trust there's a culture inside of Washington. And they have embedded themselves and it was a slow rolling coup. And so you have a president that is trying to do right. You have a president that is trying to obtain peace through making a deal. I love how Trump always say, I'm trying to make a deal. Because that's the way he sees it because he sees it in a practical way. This is about making a deal, a deal where we can solve this practically and reasonably, and we can stop the bloodshed and stop the instability. And they want to undermine it. And these people have been embedding themselves like a cancer for decades inside of Washington. And this needs to end. It needs to end right now. It needs to end now. And by the way, if Trump has any, if President Trump has any doubt about the people that are surrounding him when it comes to foreign policy decisions, if there's any doubt, I think President Trump should do what President Trump does, which is take swift, decisive action and throw them out on their ass. Throw them right out on M Street. Kick them out of there. They don't belong influencing foreign policy. It's dangerous.

Do I think that Ukraine acted alone in attacking one of the presidential residences of Vladimir Putin? No. I think in large part it was due to people who want to undermine the efforts of... Donald J. Trump, the president of the United States and his negotiating team. It just came at a very coincidental time, a very interesting time at a very, very important moment in the negotiations.
