Welcome back to 925 Fox News right all along here on daybreak. Let me, let me, um, Rob, the producer, would you say for the most part President Trump, Rob? Do you say for the most part that President Trump has a good head on his shoulders? He makes good decisions. He's a good negotiator. Yeah, I think he may be one of the best dealmakers in the world. He obviously has a path of proven success. Okay. That's all I needed. Okay. So listen to this. So you... We already talked about the $2 billion shortfall when it comes to the roads in southwest Florida, right? We talked about we're short on that budget by $2 billion. Yesterday, you found out about the $46.7 million that is a budget shortfall for the Lee County School District, where they decided to cut the arts and music programs across multiple schools. Also, I've now been told that two teachers are leaving. One teacher's had a program cut completely. A million dollars out of one particular school was cut from a program. I have a friend who has an ESE student, exceptional student education, that now has a staffing agency teacher substitute that's unqualified of handling his child. He's not happy about that. And yesterday, when I left here, I got 65 calls from parents who wanted me to discuss the schools with me. But I want to say you don't have to cut the programs that people choose your public schools for. You don't have to cut those programs. You just have to figure out a way to make things work. And yesterday, when I was on the phone with Lee County School Board member Armour Persons, I said you should look at procurement. You could find the money you need to save if you start negotiating the best rate, not based on whose buddy is the contractor, but based on who will give you the best price with the highest quality of work. That's what you're looking for. And if you don't believe this works, ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present to you.

President Trump, and one of the greatest things ever. Listen, here, here we go. And they had bids to fix it. They were going to take the stone out, which was granite, very expensive, very thick, and replace it with stone, and it was going to cost $300 million. Now. And it was going to take maybe more than three years. Now, he's talking about the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in D.C. They said $300 million in more than three years. But Trump says he overcomes that. Listen to this. Sure. But one, wouldn't it be a better job? And I said, no, there's a better way of doing it. And he said, what we're going to do is I'm going to call. All three of these people that have worked for me in the past doing swimming pools, that's all they can do is a swimming pool. And I said, give me a good price. We can do it for maybe a million and a half to two million dollars as opposed to $300 million. We scrubbed the surface of the existing granite that's been there since 1922. We then grouted... All of the granite. Fixed it up. Took about two weeks. And now we have a nice, clean surface. There you go. Another reason why I'm excited, by the way, to go to D.C. on Saturday. A nice clean surface. Did you hear that? A $300 million project bid by three different people that bid it to the United States government at $300 million. And Trump made a phone go out to a pool guy who came and did quality work for a million, a half. A million and a half, two. Let's just round it in two million. That is a savings of $298 million to the American taxpayer. It was a simple phone call that the president made. He didn't say, you know, let me get with the Secretary of Interior and have him make this phone call. I tell you what, Secretary of Interior, why don't you go out and find three pool guys to give us a better bid? He got on the phone and made the change because he knew it would save American tax dollars. It's the same thing our school board needs to do. It's the same thing our county commission needs to do when it comes to these budgets. You're going to have to look at every line item and make a personal decision on it, not delegated down to somebody who is in charge of procurement to the point to where you're paying $45 for a $15 light bulb. And let me reinforce this even more. This is irresponsible of the conservative school board that we elected in Lee County. Why is this irresponsible? Because it is a nonpartisan position. And right now, currently, you have decided to cut. Tons of programs that make kids want to go to your school system. You have decided to leave it wide open for teachers to leave and go do other things. And these programs mattered to a lot of people. And the program cuts and the teacher cuts. And there are teachers now that don't even know if they still have a job, some have received non-renewal notices.

all because of this $47 million shortfall. You're going to have to be the person, the board member, the superintendent, you're going to have to be the person that goes into procurement and says, let me see who you got and let me make some more phone calls myself. Because if you made the phone calls yourself, you would find out that you can get everything cheaper. Everything. Not some things. Everything. Everything. And America or Southwest Florida needs to know this. It only took Trump three phone calls to save America $298 million. How many phone calls and how many things would it take for you as the school board to save a measly $47 million for these kids? Now, I understand when it comes to the roads. We're talking about a $2 billion shortfall. That's definitely not a phone call. Hey, you can't call your buddy to come fix the roads and make them quality, right? But there are ways that you can find it. And the same for the school. Like, you can find something. And it could be as simple as we're buying new ovens for every school, right? And the ovens are $12,000, but then you go online and find out you can buy these ovens for $6,000. Now, wouldn't you want to say, nope, we're not buying the $12,000? I found them for six. It's... taxpayer money that we have elected you to make sure you do a good thing with. It is an election year for four school board members that are trying to get reelected and they have done everything they can do to send out this PR to make everyone go, oh, we're doing a great thing. Meanwhile, the school down the road, like ECS, is offering pilot training and air traffic controller training, and you ain't even going to teach somebody how to play the violin in elementary. Where are they going to go? You're worried about declining enrollment, and that is your justification for the cuts, by the way. Our enrollment is down. It's gone down. Listen, let me tell you right now, you want your enrollment to go up. You better offer more things than a charter school. You better offer more things than a private school. You better put your teachers up on a pedestal and let them know that they are just as important as everybody else. And more importantly, get a hold of your spending. We are expecting fiscal responsibility. You're not giving it to us, and we're going to put you on notice. Listen, we can talk about both. I focus primarily on the $47 million in the cuts because I spent an hour and a half, maybe two hours on with three different parents yesterday. After I got out of here, parents legitimately with concerns, one who has a family member who's a teacher in one of these schools and lost their whole program. This is just something that we need to... draw attention to. This is very nervous for those sitting school board members as what's going to happen. And let me tell you why it makes you nervous. It's a nonpartisan race. Well, I don't like, and I'm going to use armor because he called in. Somebody's like, well, I'm not going to vote for armor. I'm not voting for armor. I'm going to vote for whoever running against armor. Well, it's just nonpartisan. Well, as soon as you throw a Democrat into that position, now we're radicalizing our school. So you don't know where these people stand. Now, I'm going to tell you where they stand, obviously, and I'm going to tell you this as we go through. Even a nonpartisan, even if I get yelled at, don't care. We're still going to do it. But we have to do exactly what Trump did. Work harder to try and...

find the way to save the money without just make it as somebody else's problem like the director of procurement. And if you don't know, procurement is the way that schools and businesses and organizations buy the supplies and the things that they need, services, AC repair, all those type of things, right? I, for one, think... This is a great message that couldn't come, and I believe everything is for a reason. God brought this message to me so that I can play it so that the school board members and county commissioners that listen to the show, and boy, do we know they listen? Do we know they listen now, don't we? We do know that, right? We do know, right? And now that we know that they listen, they can understand how easy it could be. and what the optics will look like when they go on and say, you know what? I went down to procurement and found out we were paying $9 for a jar of peanut butter, and I saved us $800 by getting peanut butter somewhere else, and I know that's miniscule. But I'm telling you, there's way bigger line items that you can fix right there. Way bigger. Same thing for you, County. I appreciate you guys. Coming up next, wink, wink news security analyst, Rich. We're going to jump right into it right now. Welcome back to Daybreak on 92-5 Fox News. We are in studio right now hanging out with Wink News security analysts, Rich Colcoe. He's a former FBI agent, a veteran, a great person who's got great expertise when it comes to things like the NTSB, giving the final report on the... plane crash that happened on I-75 and 24 day after my birthday in February when the Challenger 600 crashed. Now, the report says salt corrosion. Yeah. Rich. What do you say? First, I'm backing up on my resume there. My first job, of course, was Navy pilot. All right, all right. I flew big airplanes in the saltwater environment. Oh, wow. All right. So there we go. So you're fully aware of what corrosion is. Yes. Right. I spent a lot of time washing out engines and washing off airplanes because that's part of the Navy process. with fresh water to make sure that corrosion stays minimized. Same thing you do with the fishing, Rob, and you go fishing, even though it doesn't touch the water. You still rinse it off so it doesn't get corroded, right? Right, right. Makes sense, makes sense. So everybody listening, hopefully is familiar with this crash. As you said, a couple years ago, plane coming into Naples Airport, two-engine jet, and at 1,000 feet, and about 4 miles, I think, from the airport, lost both engines. And the NTSB final report came out yesterday. We went over it in the newsroom. It's fascinating. It wasn't very different from the preliminary report, which came out a couple of months ago, which talked about corrosion shutting down both engines at the last minute there. It caused the crash. But it's just hard to believe. I talk flying with friends and pilots, and until this report came out, every single one of them said, this has to be some sort of fuel issue for both engines to go out at 1,000 feet. approach, just bizarre. But at the end of the day, we got to trust that the NTSB did their investigation correctly. I think they've got a good track record, and the research and evidence turns up that they had corrosion in these engines, and what's called the variable guide veins, and this is what guides the air going into the compressor. And they went into the wrong position and probably stopped the airflow into the compressor, which ends up shutting down the engines. And could the mechanism that moves that valve, could that be the thing that... that may be corroded to the point where it closed and then it never opened back up. Not the right position. They're automated so that, you know, depending on the engine speed and what's called the angle of attack, how the engine is facing the wind, things like that, it changes to make sure the airflow hits the compressor blades. squarely. We've all sat in the terminal at any airport and you look at the engines and look at the airplane, you see the big fans. Right, right. That's the first stage of the turbine. And that's where that air has to hit as it goes through that turbine. And those veins in there turned differently to make sure that the air is hitting correctly. And these were corroded and did not change. And that's likely what caused this airplane. But your pilot, your pilot friends say that it's highly unlikely that both engines would shut down from salt corrosion. Yeah. I mean, the fact that both sets a guide veins were corroded that much to have shut down at this exact same moment and shut down both ends. It's just bizarre. And they were, they were originally speculating that it was, ran out of gas. Yeah. But it burst into flames when it hit the ground, Rich. I mean, it had gas. Nah, really. Don't forget that gas itself doesn't burn. It's the fumes that burn. And when you'll go into the gas tanks, there's always plenty of fumes in there for the fuel that was there. And there's what's called usable fuel in a, just like in your car. Your car might say it has a 20 gallon gas.

tank, which really can only burn 18 gallons. Same kind of thing with the jets. It's not that it goes all the way down to zero. There's usable fuel in the wings. So there's always the fumes that could cause the fire. But that's not what happened in this case. I'm not trying to say the NTSB was wrong. I'm just surprised at what it was. I got a few minutes. These pilots, they were so calm through this whole process. You hear their voice through the whole thing. Here's the audio. Lost both engines, emergency. I'll make you an emergency landing. Indeed. So they made, like, that was lost both engines. You're seeing where you're at. You're going to make an emergency landing. You're looking down, and it is bumper-to-bumper traffic on 75, and they were able to stay calm and both lost their lives in the crash. You witnessed it you saw it. How do you believe that the flight attendant and the two people were able to escape through the back hatch when you see the video? The back hatch is in flames. It's engulfed. Like it's on fire. How do you think that went down if you had to speculate as a pilot? One word, training. The flight attendants go through this training. Pilots go through this training to be prepared for exactly this kind of circumstance. There are three exits on that airplane. Two of them were engulfed by flames. The third one was a baggage door. And the flight attendant knew that was there, knew that was available in the last option and took the two passengers out through the baggage door. So it wasn't even the normal door that to go through. But she knew that this was an option and made that happen. It saved those lives. Saved her life and both of the passengers' lives. I mean, it is by far one of the biggest godwinks I've ever seen that these three people are still on this earth because it didn't look like anybody could have survived that. No. But they got out probably before most of the fire had to go to the plane. The manufacturer of this plane, Rich, has now changed the safety checklist. moved corrosion to the front of the list. Well, yeah. The engines had a history of what's called a hung start, which means the pilots go to start the engines, and it doesn't get to idle. There's just enough gas going into it that the engines are turning, but you can't get any power out of them. And that is actually an emergency procedure, and you have to shut down the engines, and you have to go through a checklist, a very long checklist. And what happened in the past was, and they'd had a hung start just a few weeks prior to this flight. I read that. You go through the checklist, A, B, C, D, and then if you figure it out, at D, you don't have to do E. And the problem was the corrosion was E or F or G. So since they solved the problem, this is one of those unusual checklist that if you solve the problem, you don't have to finish the checklist. So now what they've done is the NTSB or FAA has changed the rules so that you either have to finish a checklist or, as you said, they moved the corrosion check farther up so that if an aircraft does have a hung start, that is going to be checked. And that's based on this. So this report could save lives down the road. Could the manufacturer of the plane be held liable for not having a better system for checking it and preventive maintenance for corrosion? Oh, I'm sure the lawsuits have all started already. And that airplane lived in Barbados, lived near the water for decades prior to going to this company, being sold to this company. Now, in the Navy, we had very specific and strict corrosion control procedures. You know, after every flight, the engines were washed out with fresh water. Aircraft was washed down inspections. Now, whether this happened on private.

private airplanes, or it does happen in private airplanes, especially ones held in other countries. I don't know how strict those rules are. Right. And they don't understand probably. Some people don't really, really get, I mean, you as a Navy pilot, you were flying over ocean a lot, and I'm sure that's something they discussed, just like flying into sand. Do you ever have to fly into sand inside a desert area? Yeah, and sand and dust can kill engines as well. And killing, right. So I have a friend of mine that lost a helicopter in the Gulf War, and he talked all about the dust with me one time. told me that. We did our best to try to go save the troops and lost the helicopter. So we just got out and just did it on foot. And I mean, I was involved with the story. And I love great stories like that. So I get into it. Well, Rich, I appreciate you coming in and giving us an update. Those pilots were heroes. That flight attendant was a hero. And those two souls that were saved, those three souls that were saved, they have a mission on this earth, man. I know that. Hopefully, NTSB will be a hero and save some lives down the road, too. Number five. We do all this great stuff, and I'm happy with that. But in terms of the stuff that people are getting pinched by, I saw gas was $4 there. You know, I've seen the groceries. You know, I take my kids like, you know, they go to like, oh, they want to go to a McDonald's drive-thru. And I do three happy meals, and it's $40 because they do, they want the Huntrix meal, which they don't eat all the chicken nuggets. And I'm just like, you know. I feel his pain so much. My son, when he goes to McDonald's wants a large meal, he's eight years old. Happy meal is not enough for him. The $5 meal that has nuggets and a burger, which, by the way, is my favorite, it's not enough for him. It's not enough. I want a large meal. Then we get him 10 nuggets, and then there's always four nuggets left. And I'm like, you know they have a happy meal with six nuggets, right? You always have four nuggets left. No, I don't always have four nuggets left. Just get me the large meal. It's because he wants those french fries. That's what it is. But I can so feel that pain. You know, McDonald's could almost be an economy barometer. You know when the price is way up there. You know the economy is way up there, too. And when they start letting their prices go down a little bit, you start seeing the economy get a little better, right? I think they're a great throttle of it. But it also shows you where the price of life has gone, too, this fast food price. Remember you go to Taco Bell, feed your whole family for $7. Now that's two tacos. It's crazy to think about. Fast food is almost more expensive than eating healthy at home. And it never used to be that way. Number four. I am stunned that Mr. Chad Bianco would say to block and brown Californians and immigrants who are being terrorized and racially profiled, that you have to get over racism. It's not something that you get over. It's something that you fight. And if he doesn't understand the importance of that, he has no business representing a state with the diversity of California. By the way, have we seen, that's Katie Porter, who's running for governor of California. Have you seen her recently, Rob? Have you seen her? She found Do Zimpic. There's no doubt that she found those Zimpic. She's got to be a hundred down. She's got to be a hundred down. At least 75. She's at least 75 down. Right, trying to get out there in front of the voters trying to appeal to those California. Because California's first saw, they were like, nope, you don't fit our motto. I don't know if you saw our hand-waving fraud committing previous governor. Katie Porter did something that I want to just really comment on, and I really believe that this is what it is. Race baiting is the worst thing ever. She is trying to make the race to the governor's mansion in California.

A race war. It is not race. That's why the other guy was like, you've got to get over racism. Because racism shouldn't be the discussion. It's not an issue to vote on. It is not something that can be changed with a policy. You should be up there talking policy. And when you start trying to throw that race thing in there, man, nothing is more racist than saying that you have to fight racism. Every second of every day. And it's what we're going to do. We're going to fight. Listen, I'm, I fight racism. Don't let it happen. But when you want to make that the line that you draw, you're literally drawing a racist line that's going to divide and make people fight. Talk about unity. Talk about bringing people together. Talk about how we don't need to fight racism, that racism is something that we all need to become one big party, one big love together. We all get together and love each other. I mean, if you want to go somewhere that a left person would go. Number three. Makes my ears red. It takes a lot to get me upset. But Chuck Schumer, no one respects you. The definition of a lying scumbag politician, that is you. You would be the definition if you Googled you right now. Finally. Finally, somebody says what Rob has been thinking his whole life. Thank you. Producer Rob, you got it. That's your moment. I played that for you today. Appreciate that. You're welcome. I can't stand, Chuck Schumer. And that's one of the greatest clips I've heard in a long time. It almost made number one. I will tell you, it almost made the top clip today. That is, by the way, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin out there. just roasting Chuck Schumer and really talking about the fact that what's going on in the Senate and how the fact that the Senate can't get it through their head that they should fund DHS, they should stop worrying about ice, and they should definitely pass the Safe America Act. Can I just say when you don't want a fair and honest bill that makes your election fair and honest? You look like a liar. You look like a thief. You look like a criminal. And now you're, what did he say again? I want to hear it again. Makes my ears red. It takes a lot to get me upset. But Chuck Schumer, no one respects you. The definition of a lying scumbag politician. There you. That is how we'll refer to him from here on out. I feel like that is Chuck Schumer's new title. Number two. What binds us together, what matters more than the disagreement, is the ability to have that discourse. The real enemy? It's not Steve Bannon or Tucker Carlson or Ben Shapiro. It's the radical left that murdered Charlie and celebrated it on a daily basis. Donald Trump Jr. Donald Trump Jr. giving the message out there that we truly all know. The radical left is the real enemy. And the radical left.

is what's out there that doesn't have any policy, it doesn't have any principle, the radical left has no morality. That is something, if you want to know who is on the radical left, ask, get into those three topics and you'll find out they don't have any, they don't have any moral. The morals are gone forever from the radical left. It's a, it's what we are seeing is this. aggression that I wish we could figure out a way. Like I said, I wish we could figure out a way to try to get past this. But Donald Trump Jr. is speaking the truth right there. And what he's giving you is that God gives us the direction to go. And if we follow that direction, and then you don't become radicalized on either way. It all ties back down to that. That's what really is going on. Number one. With the first pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select Fernando Mendoza, quarterback Indiana. Do you know why I played that? Do you know where he was last night? Rob, do you know the story here? I don't. Rob, the producer, let me let you know and let me tell everybody else. That is the number one pick from the NFL. Fernando Mendoza, and he decided that he won it. Now, normally, You win. You get the first round draft. You're there. Everybody's celebrating with you. All your friends are there. You walk the carpet. Everybody sees you. You get the jersey. You take a picture next to the worst commissioner in NFL history. And then you walk on, right? You walk on. Roger Goodell is the worst. I agree with that. The worst. The worst. And then what did he do? He stayed home, bro. He stayed in Miami with his mom. His mom has MS. So he, this gives me chills when I heard the story. He stayed home with her because she couldn't make the trek. He owes his whole life, his whole career to her. He immediately started a foundation for MS. He immediately promised to give them $5 million to that foundation. He stayed home with his mom and took, and by the way, he praised God. First and foremost, to get him where he got. And that is great. This guy right here is who you want on your team. This is who I hope that my son becomes when he's an athlete and is growing into becoming an influential person, that he always puts his family first. I will always put my family first. If I have something going on in my family, you won't see me here. I'll just let y'all know. I always put my family first. And please, don't hold that against me. That's just who I am in my heart and soul. I knew I liked Fernando Mendoza. Right. You can't hate them. First off, one of the greatest college football teams I've ever seen was the Indiana team this year. Maybe the greatest college team. It was like unstoppable. Unbelievable. Yeah.

They were fun to watch. Right. Like where do they even learn that stuff? That was crazy. So I just wanted to tell you, man, he praised God and he was there for his mother. And I just think, man, what a role model for our kids to have. He's exactly who you want your kids to look up to. And I think he's done a great job. The 5 at 835. You know, Ron DeSantis has signed two new bills into law. The license plate frame clarification and the expanded swim lessons. Just so you know, the most confusing thing to ever come out, ever out of Tallahassee was you can't have a license plate frame. anymore because if it covers up anything it can't cover up the numbers it can't cover up the yellow sticker that is where it comes down uh to it and the uh and and there's a penalty if you do it the bigger thing that happened was the expansion of swim vouchers it used to be back in the day a swim voucher was from uh ages I think three to four or one to four. Now it goes all the way one to seven. So it went from one to four. Now it goes one to seven. And you can have your child learn how to swim in Florida. One of the biggest numbers for child deaths in Florida. Learn how to swim all on the Florida dime. And it's ages one to seven. So if you feel like before, because the old program used to be four and under, now it's up to seven, if you feel like your child. has a problem around water and it makes you nervous and I can't help but think of my niece. I guess it would be my great niece, right? My niece's daughter is my great niece, right? Is that the way it is? Yeah, I think so. So my niece's daughter, who, you know, her dad is stressed every time they're at my house. Every time in my house, right? I was going to say, is it maybe like a second cousin type thing? Maybe. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sure how that hierarchy is. But nonetheless, my niece's daughter. And I told him, I was like, I called him yesterday. And I was like, I don't know if you know about this, but you got to get on this right now because she's six and now she can get free swim lessons. The swim voucher program, we put Finn into it, make sure you get a voucher. If your kid doesn't know how to swim, if you have a grandkid that don't know how to swim, if you've got a neighbor who has a kid, make sure you say, do you know about the swim voucher program? Teaching your kids to swim at a very early age is one of the most important things to do as a Florida parent. I learned it early on. I watched it. I watched as my son was one years old, and they would.

Put him in the pool and he would learn how to float back to his back and come to the top. Like almost naturally. Like it was amazing watching these lessons be taught to my child so that I never have to worry around a pool. Now, I still watch every day like a hawk. I don't want anything to happen. But that. that takes a lot of stress off my back. So I wanted to say, man, good job, Tallahassee. This is a great bill. I'm glad that Ron DeSantis passed it, and I'm very glad that you know that what we're doing here, man. I just want to know that. Just so you know. Real quick on the lights plate covers, do not cover the plates letters, numbers, or registration sticker. That's actually what it says here. The weekend is finally here. It's big. And because of age or health or reasons they're not able to make the honor flight, so what they do is they do. do it right there at home they give them a virtual tour of dc and then they have dinner and then they're a part of the parade as well Now, just so you know, on this honor flight, mission number 29, sponsored by the Lion and Lamb Foundation of Naples, 17 Korean War veterans, 64 Vietnam veterans, five other war veterans. And it's all funded by small and large donors like the Gutenberg Foundation at Storm Storm Smart, American Legion of VFW. They've all done this. There's no pay. It's a 501C3 that makes this happen. 29 and there are 128 hubs of honor flight hubs across the country that does this exact service for great veterans and if you have somebody you want to get more information you can always get it on call your honor flight.org call your honor flight.org if you're a veteran or have a family member that's a veteran and you want to get more details on this you can get it right there and maybe you want to be a guardian and you want to so a guardian will take a veteran over they'll go do the tour they'll hang out with them and then they come back and it's it's just an experience that i'm so looking forward to as i am actually going to be on this honor flight talking with all these veterans about their experience and documenting it to show it all to you when i get back to the show on Monday. The amount of... people that show up. You know, this is what I'll wrap. There's some things that you have to do if you're going to live in Southwest Florida. You have to, the Edison parade in Lee County. You've got to make sure you hit the Collier County Fair. It's like no other. I mean, I remember the clown they used to have. They used to be great. You also have to go to the Community Co-op Soup Kitchen event, hit the Mockali Casino. I mean, I could probably point out two or three other things that you have to go experience when you live here. One of those things, the return of the honor flight. If you have never been to the airport to see this, this Saturday, 7.30, you should go. Take your whole family, grab everybody you know, grab your neighbors, because it's an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. I know I did. It's one that I cherish so much.
