Florida Sues TikTok, Florida Fraud Runs Rampant, The Rock is Cooking Up Celebrity Political Talk

When I think of the worst social media, I think Snapchat's the worst. And I do. I think Snapchat was created to dissolve the marriage, to dissolve the relationship, to break people apart, not to bring people together. It allows for any slight loser or homewrecker to slide into your loved ones, other side. And without even being asked to send provocative pictures to someone. And it's just... It's just not what I deem is a good one. I also think there's an issue with almost all social medias. But TikTok is one that the Attorney General is now going after. The Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed a lawsuit against TikTok on June 15th in St. Lucie County Circuit Court to enforce the state's 2024 social media protection laws. Time is up for TikTok and everybody else that falls under this law. We will be enforcing it. We will be holding them accountable for damages and injunctive relief to change their programming and stop hurting our kids. Our complaint. Right. And stop hurting our kids. Well, big tech's been asked to self-regulate for a long time and they're not doing it fast enough. So Florida, again, leading the way in taking on social media. They, uh, the lawsuit accuses TikTok of deceiving parents, disposing children to harmful content. Here's he, he said, is investigators found. But just some basic searches will reveal pornography on the sites, sexual content. We have evidence of young people looking for ways to engage in self-harm, suffering from mental disorders due to the addictions to these platforms. And the worst of cases hurting themselves. Officials say some children in Florida are using it up to eight hours a day. Oh, gosh. I know I've burned a few days of eight hours or more on social media, and I just felt like absolute garbage by the time I was done. Like, where did my day go? But that's what they're designed to do. They're designed to suck you in and keep you there. I try to use it as nothing more than a tool in my toolbox of owning a business. And I try to keep it to that. Every once in a while, I'll get a wild thing that I just feel like I want to post or say out there. But I do follow and I watch and I open and I do read all my DM. So if you send me a DM, I read them all. Whether or not I respond, that's a whole other thing. Ask the 458 people that are still waiting in text message on my phone. Chase, John. Hey. What's up, buddy? Can you guys hear me okay? I can hear you, John. Tell me, brother. What social media you think is the worst, bro? As an adult, I would have to say Facebook, but like you guys mentioned, they all have damaging effects in one way or another. You already know Facebook was held responsible for causing emotional stress in young girls. Instagram, same thing. What I don't understand is why parents are still allowing their children to use these devices as pacifiers, thus spending hours on social media platforms rotting their brains. I understand as an adult we have the right to choose.

Yes, we're going to use it. No, we're not going to use it. But as kids, I think the parents need to be more responsible. The parents don't do as much as they can to keep their kids away from such dangerous look at. Right. Let's not even get into the video game aspect. I mean, there's predators out there. There's angry people out there. As adults, there's people that just want to argue. There's people that are just keyboard terrans if that's what you want to call them. They're very dangerous places. As an adult, we have that option to say no, but as kids. Man, where are the parents? Where are the parents of all this? You're right, John. I agree 100%. Parenting is the number one thing you'll need to do when it comes to social media. But, you know, I always, I have said this for many moons. You will find it hard to find a social media that has nothing but positive sides to it. There is always a negative side to it. It will push an algorithm that it feels like you need. But what if I told you that this isn't the parent's fault? Well, I don't think it's the parents' fault. Hold on. Let me finish my thought. I don't think it's the parents' fault. I think this is 100% was generated. This addiction that our children have. was generated. They created this addiction, not just by building the platform, but by locking our kids out of their school enforcing them that the only way they can communicate, their only way outside to the outside world is via the social media platform. And that was during the pandemic when we took everything away and put everybody into isolation and forced them to have only one way out. And what happened? Our kids became locked in our bedrooms. They didn't want to come out. Some parents, including myself, still have to push my teenager out of the room and get her to do things because she got during her middle school years and her early years were was sitting in a room for 12 hours a day, unable to go outside and hang out with your friends. Everybody was trying to stay away from everybody. It was a wild time that we lived in and they generated this with that pandemic. This is where the addiction to social media became a problem for our children. We spoon fed. them the ability to have these eight hours a day. And now we want to take it away from them because we spoon-fetted to him for an entire, what, a year almost in that pandemic? If not even longer than that. Actually, I think John hit it on the head here. We know that teens glued to screens are not thriving. He mentioned something very specific about body image issues. And I know that that was kind of one of the key indicators when this started coming to the forefront is that these girls.

are hating on themselves because all the algorithm is doing is feeding them pictures of supermodels and cosmopolitan articles telling them that they're too fat or too stupid and undesirable and how they will not be able to succeed in their current form. It's unfortunate what it does. But obviously, Florida has done a great job in getting in front of that. And now, Australia has also recently banned social media and the UK is following suit as well for kids under 16. Yeah, you're never going to stop them. You're not. They can keep talking about banning. You put a law, but you're not going to stop them if they can't fake it. I mean, you can't take a cell phone away from a kid. They'll have another one before they get home from school. Sure. But at least the state is stepping up to try and back families here. And I think that's what I love about the attorney. First of all, James Uthmeier might be my favorite attorney in general and many, many moves. You know, he filled some big shoes and he did it right. And he know what? Not only did he fill them shoes. he put bigger, bigger ones on that would make it even bigger for somebody else to have to fill. Keep standing for Florida. James Oathmire, we love you for that. You know, fraud's not just a Minnesota thing. We have fraud going on right here in Florida. Tell them about it, Blaze. Hello, I'm Chief Financial Officer Blaze and Golia. I'm here to announce more fraud arrests. This time, public assistance fraud, which not only hurts the taxpayers, but it also hurts the Floridians who need it the most. My investigators are working day and night, night and day catching these fraudsters and ensuring that they face the consequences of their actions. Snap and Medicaid benefits, and he announced that in just one month, just one month. Tell us about it. What did you do in the month of May? Just in the month of May alone, my office arrested 12 people and brought sanctions against 48 more for public assistance fraud totaling $806,000. over the course of just four weeks. We caught 12 criminals who defrauded over $487,000 in public assistance benefits. Wow. Listen to the money he's talking about. $806,000, $400,000, $487,000, $318,000, $21,000. These are all the stories that we're hearing that not only do you have what I believe, an overspending problem inside our government, but now across America, Americans think it's just okay. to milk the system for themselves, to steal taxpayer dollars to benefit themselves by finding a loophole in the system or some check that's not done and defrauding us, the taxpayer, out of our own hard-earned money so that somebody like this woman can just make hundreds of thousands sitting on her ass. Including this person, Alexis Rivera. She fraudulently obtained nearly $22,000 in SNAP benefits and Medicaid fraud, but now she faces up to 30 years in jail. Great. Good. Right. 30 years in jail because you defrauded over a quarter of a million dollars, a quarter of a million dollars from SNAP benefits. Now here's the thing. Despicable. Where did...

She flipped this. Where did that money get flipped? Because SNAP benefits come in form of a card that is for food benefits, and she would have had to flip those cards. And I bet you she was flipping these cards all day long to people for pennies on the dollars. So not only are the taxpayers getting robbed from, but these grocery stores are having people using government assistance with them. government assistance isn't needed for them. And it's just a, it's a vicious cycle. that we're seeing on a regular basis, no matter what color the state is, blue or red. This is not a partisan issue. This is an everybody issue. And I think there have been people from all walks of life that have been milking this system for so long, for so long that it's about time that people like Blaze and Goglia, and on that matter, any other chief financial officer or auditor from across the country. country that's doing this. This is God's work. You are out there right now saving our taxpayers by pointing out these people that are stealing from us. Indeed. And Blaze is going to have a hell of a job ahead of him after the election because I do believe he will get reelected. Florida, you know, we have great badasses between Blaze and Golia and Attorney General James Uthmeier. Like. Come on, man. That's the best fighting force you could have when it comes to just cracking down on fraud and the abuse of the system. But if tax reform passes and homestead exemption goes up, Blaze is going to be busy because he's going to have to root out as much fraud as he can. Because somebody's got to fill the gap somewhere. And I feel like there's a way that somebody's going to try and game the system. You want somebody like Blaze who is running around counting the ducks, right? Absolutely. The bean counter. The bean counter going, these beans don't add up. These beans don't add up. And that's what he does every day. Right. And he doesn't play favorites. And I think they, I think the elected know that. Like he'll be cool with you. But if he finds out your. County Commission, your school board, your city is out there overspending, not being good steward of our tax dollars. He's going to come at you with the same hatchets. With the same hatchet. Yep. And he's going to point that out to you because he is doing what he was assigned to do, appointed to do at this point, but running for his election. I think Blaze has been. A solid addition to Florida. And you're right, Florida badasses. We need it almost to be like a reality show. I mean, really, just watching these guys work, they're always tackling something. It seems like they are at least as far as I'm aware. Now, this could be happening in other states, but they seem to be some of the more aggressive attorney generals and CFOs that I've seen across the country.

You know what? Unchecked fraud undermines what we stand for as America. And another reason why we're patriotic is that we aren't going to let you steal from our country or from our taxpayers. We're going to come after you for that because it's just unpatriotic for you to be a thief and steal the money that you don't pay for. Because here's what I believe. The SNAP and Medicaid fraudsters don't have a job. No. They're fraudsters. They don't have a real job. They're not putting any money into the system that they're actually stealing from. So not only are they stealing from the taxpayers, but they're not even one themselves because they are milking the system for anything they can. And I bet you when you find people like this woman that he spoke of that had the $221,000, I have her name here, Alex Alexis Rivera. I bet you you'll find that she has defrauded WIC. I bet you'll find out that she has defrauded charity organizations like Henry Chafin Food Bank and Food Banks across the world. I bet you'll find out that she has defrauded on every level because... greed is what a thief does. Yeah. And that's how you bust a greed, a thief, is they get so caught up and trying to get more and more and more and more and more and steal more and more and more and we bust your ass and said you did jail for 30 years. I hope she gets to 30. I really do. What are you in for stealing food stamps? Good.

Good. I mean. Well, she's obviously a professional fraudster. Like, that is her job. So you listing off all of these organizations that she's likely defrauded, I know that we can't assume guilt, but somebody who has stolen that kind of money from the taxpayer obviously has a pretty good understanding of the ins and outs of the workings of the system. So we're going to pick up the sword. We're going to fight back. If you are a company and you want to choose profit over public safety, if you want to choose profit over our children, we will not tolerate it. There you go. The Florida Attorney General, that was his final statement there when he was telling he is suing TikTok. We're picking up the sword to battle for our kids. And, you know, for years the default position is always parents just need to parent harder. but Attorney General James Uthmeier is rejecting that as insufficient in saying, if they can't fight for your children, then I'll fight for your children. And I think that's exactly what the Attorney General is saying inside that statement. Number four. I think you have to love your country whether or not you lost the last election. I love America. And, you know, according to some polling that came out this weekend, most Republicans love America. 90% are very proud to be Americans. They're proud of living in this country. Unfortunately, I think Mr. De Niro's comments are pretty indicative of a majority of Democrats who can't seem to find that attitude, which I applaud. inside them to love your country even though you lost the last election. Right. Losing an election should also not take away your patriotism. It should not make you dislike this country anymore. I celebrated Fourth of July the year before and the year before when we had a very horrible president. It didn't make me any less patriotic. I didn't walk around. Oh, Democrat. Let's lower the flag. We don't want to put the flag up anymore. We just don't do that. We just don't. We don't. And to add a little context here, the comment that he's referring to that Robert De Niro had said is that he can't feel – he was at some sort of public appearance. I can't remember what it was. But he said he can't feel proud of a country where Donald Trump is president. Right. Yeah, well, you know what? We can't feel proud of a country where we feel like the value of a movie star's opinion matters. And it doesn't. It doesn't matter to me at all. And it matters actually less than an actual hardworking blue-collar American that might have that opinion. Because you're thinking on behalf of the cabal. Whoopsie. I didn't mean to him. Sorry. Yes, and that's exactly what Trump is, and that's exactly what his fans are, racist, homophobic, un-American. That's Rosie O'Donnell talking about the UFC Freedom 250. She called it... What did you call it? Un-American and racist, although there were multiple... Blue Angels flew over. A Mexican won the first battle. Right. Like, really? Like, what are you talking about? competing, in my own honest opinion. Elite units, right? They always want to be the more, they want to put on the better show. And I'm sure there's bragging rights involved in it. But they put that aside when it's time to be a proud American and do a flyover and show America what it's all about. The patriotism was there, no matter what anybody says. I didn't feel any racism there. I didn't feel any bigotry there. I matter of fact, when the guy. said the thing, what he said about Michelle Obama, Trump took that necklace off. Right away, just took that necklace off. He separated himself from that. And we're going to talk more about that coming up in a minute. Number two. If we don't stand up and vocally reject the hate that Kanye West pushes, if we don't stop this concert, we're telling everyone that anti-Semitism is okay. No, it's not okay. As long as you make some money. And somebody said that to me, oh, if they cancel, oh, they'll lose money. So what? You made the bad decision, fix your bad decision. Right. Rick Scott and I disagree here. Right. Rick Scott and you disagree. You believe, now I firmly stand with Rick Scott on this. Look, if you're going to use taxpayer funds to fund a show, then you can't be anti-Semitic on stage. Bottom line, where you're going to be performing in a taxpayer-funded facility. You can't be anti-Semitic up there. The anti-Semitism that's rolling through this country, it rolls to the point of conspiracy theorists, pick it up, and it becomes their main narrative. That's what happens with this. I still think that it's going to bring a lot of money for the little businesses in Tampa that are surrounding Ray J when there's nothing else going on in the town. There's something going on at Ray J. every other weekend. And the only thing that surrounded is Ray J is a bunch of houses. There's nothing but housing. It's in the middle of a neighborhood. You know what I mean. I know where it is, but there are still restaurants and venues that are downtown or places like that there are businesses in Tampa that benefit when high profile events happen. This is in poor taste, in my own honest opinion. I stand with Rick Scott. Anti-Semitism is an issue. He can't decide what is okay to say and what is not okay to say. And that's the issue because he won't be able to hold back now. You'll put him on stage. You'll go out there and just go on a rant, which is just unnecessary, especially as we celebrate America's 250. Number one. No, it took away from the event. It was a fun event. It was to celebrate America's founding who we are as a nation. It was sort of a modern-day gladiators fighting hard and shaking each other's hand and the spirit of sports. That was not the spirit of sports. Lindsey Graham talking about the fighter Josh Hokit and how he said that Michelle Obama was a man at the UFC Freedom 250. He said something that you will never see the left do. He stood out against somebody throwing shade and said, it's not what America is about. It's not why we were there. It's not what we were doing instead of the way the left would have spun the same thing and not necessarily this comic because they're going to say it's racist and yada, yada.

yada, but he's saying it's not okay. Trump taking the necklace off as saying it's not okay. We are not okay with any type of hate speech, and it just falls right back into anti-Semitism. We're not good with it. We don't like it. It's not something we're in for, and we didn't like it. It was the inappropriate time and the inappropriate place. I get that. I thought it was funny, but that's, you know, maybe that's just my poor sense of humor in this situation, but it was good that Trump had cut. I don't think it's necessarily signifying that. it's wrong. I think that's him just saying, well, I'm not really aligned with this guy. Do you think everybody that was up there fighting as a Republican? No. Right. But they didn't say anything. That's true. And that's my point, right? Nobody was up there saying, I'm here for the money and for the free coins. I'm not here for America, blah, blah, blah. The Mexican people didn't get up there and go, Viva, Mia! Like, you know, it was a very neutral event that this guy made political. He put himself in a position that wasn't his job to put into that position. That's fair. That's how I look at it. The five. At 835. Oh, here we go from one person saying something to The Rock. Dwayne Rock Johnson told Esquire that he's keeping his politics private because he wants to focus on creating and storytelling rather than being adding to the division. You see, Johnson regretting Joe Biden and putting his nose up into the business. So he put his nose in there. It got cut off. It actually heard him in one way or another. And now he's got to speak out against it. He says it tears me up in my guts. He chose not to endorse any. in 2024 on Bruce Freesting attacking Donald Trump from the stage. Johnson said his first thought was, why don't they talk? They should just sit down and talk. He criticized canceled culture, woe culture, constant division, saying he chooses to be authentic, even if it upsets people. And I think he is trying to abandon the blue ship without abandoning the blue ship. Yes, and we all know how well his endorsement went over with his fans of Joe Biden. That didn't do well. I respect his position here, and I wish more celebrities would follow suit because there's no point in alienating your fan base, especially when you're a star as big as the rock. And any sensible business owner would keep politics out of their operation because I, as a business owner, and I do own one, it's not as big as yours, but why would I want to limit? my potential revenue because I want somebody to know my opinion.

No. It's ridiculous. I want to make money. That's why I'm in business. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, your dollar spends the same, and I'm happy to get it from you. Let's see. The Rock stands up. He says, vote for Joe Biden. I think he's going to be the guy. Joe Biden crashes and burns. It's a bad look for him. But the reason you don't see him doing it again has nothing to do with him wanting to play middle the road. We should have a conversation. We should all be friends and hug it out. And kumbaya, it's because they got... no pony to vote on. They got no pony to bet on. They got nobody to root for. They got nobody to stand up for. The left is lost and the Rock's got nobody to endorse because there is nobody to endorse. There is no potential presidential candidates on the left. They're going to get smoked in the next election. They know they're going to get smoked in the next election. And that, my friend, I hope Rock can smell what I'm cooking. That's all I have to say. I don't know if I can top that one. Right, right. If you don't know what West Marine is, that's the store where you get all the things you need for your boat, maybe even close. And it's a very big boating store. And they're closing 59 stores across 23 states, including right here in Florida. The one that will impact Southwest Florida the most is the Benita Springs store. The company cited long-term lease obligations, elevated diesel prices. inflation, weaker company, discretionary spending, and supply chain issues. And I think during the boom, they went out and bought these. these 50,000 square foot buildings that are just massive to hold basically small little boat parts so that they could have more and more of these things and have bigger things and compete with even the bigger establishments like Bass Pro and things like that. And I think their plan was right on. But assets and liabilities are each estimated between 500 million and 1 billion with more than 100,000 creditors. Florida is affected. Eight stores actually in the Florida one that's holding you down as many to springs. But I think what happens here is this is showing you that the middle class is in the struggle. Right now, we're taking discretionary money. We're pushing that aside. We're not about going boating. We're making sure that we have enough money to put gas in our tank, enough money to put food on the table, enough money to make sure we keep the lights on, to keep the mortgage paid, to keep the car payment paid, and all these things. And that's when things. like hobbies and boating become almost not... as needed as they used to be. When inflation lingers, those purchases get delayed or even cut out of our budget. And that is what most people do. They find things like this to cut back, Rob. Yeah, other than if you're a charter captain or an angler, boats are obviously very expensive recreation. So when, again, affordability being front and center as we go into the midterms, discretionary spending, people are tightening the belt as the government is going to have to do here soon. just to make sure that, you know, I mean, like you said, cutting out the excess. It's a shame that West Marines are closing, but it's, I think, a broader snapshot of the times. A wildly broader snapshot of the times. And so if you're a charter captain, I feel for you, I'm sorry that this is actually happening to you. I know that you get a lot of your parts from there. But nonetheless, I certainly hope that...
