Fox 31 pinpoint weather today, mostly cloudy, a lot cooler than what we've seen the last couple of days is our high temperature could near 60 degrees and see some scattered showers in the forecast later this afternoon. Currently, it's 53 in Denver. It's finally going to feel more like springtime rather than summer in the Rockies. Temperatures will be about 20 degrees cooler. We may see some scattered light rain showers this afternoon. For the mountains above 9,000,000 feet, we'll see a little bit of snow there. National Weather Service meteorologist Bernie Meyer says you may not need your umbrella for the sprinkles that we'll be seeing today, but it'll get heavier come tomorrow. For the Denver metro area, our best chance for rain comes Wednesday afternoon and early evening. Definitely not enough to ease our drought at all. could see anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of much needed snowfall, the metro area, only expecting about a quarter inch of rain. In spite of the rain and snow, some national forest areas now under fire restrictions. The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and the Pawnee National Grasslands have enacted stage one fire restrictions. That includes the national forests in Boulder, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, and Weld counties. During stage one fire restrictions, campfires are only permitted within Forest Service installed fire rings and picnic grills, but most Forest Service campgrounds in northern Colorado.

haven't even opened yet for the season. I'm Kathy Walker, K-O-A. The head of Colorado's Medicaid program stepping down just as the state senate was getting ready for a no-confidence vote. Kim Bimiseffer's resignation comes as the state Medicaid program is dealing with billing mistakes and scrutiny over past spending. Democratic Senator Kyle Malco says 27 of the state's Senate's 35 members were prepared to vote for her removal. I think what it came down to is that, you know, we have co-equal branches and the legislative branch, specifically the Senate, just, you know, had enough. It comes amid major cuts to the Medicaid budget as the Senate, as the state is facing one and a half billion dollar budget shortfall. Lawmakers have grilled Bemis Defer's department about past spending during intense budget hearings at the state capital. Governor Bull is signing a measure making it illegal for social media companies to delay or ignore police warrants. K-ways Chad Bauer says the measure was introduced after the recent shooting at Evergreen High School. The measure establishes requirements for how social media platforms must receive, acknowledge, and respond to search warrants issued by Colorado courts. Senator Andy Basinecker, a co-sponsor of the bill, says by requiring social media companies to respond to search warrants in a timely manner, they can improve path. the ways to justice and protect our communities from further harm. Chad Bauer, K-O-A. But some lawmakers say the new law doesn't go far enough since it doesn't require social media companies to report online threats. The measles outbreak tied to Broomfield High School finally over. A little more than a month after it was first confirmed its case. The city of Broomfield says a total of 10 people were infected and at least six of those cases were in unvaccinated students. Some relief for car owners in Colorado. We're really happy to report Colorado's seen another successive year of auto theft decreases. Cale Gold with the state patrols auto theft prevention authorities says a lot has changed since 2021 when the state reported its highest number of car thefts in the country. Auto theft drives other crimes, very literally. Burglaries from ATM thefts to, you know, involved with everything from drugs and arms to who knows what. He says the numbers for 2025 show a 34% in thefts from a year before, which means a decrease in other crimes. A huge problem for farmers. Iran's threats against ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, also stopping shipments of fertilizer. If fertilizer can't get through the Strait of Hormuz in this case, then it costs more around the world. Farmers can't use as much of it. Perhaps it reduces their crop yields, and that could make food prices more expensive. It could also cause food scarcity in the developing world.

That's ABC's Matt Rivers. Fed Chair Jerome Powell says for now he's waiting to see the full effect to the war before making any moves on interest rates. It's one of those times where you get a series of supply shocks, first the pandemic, then the much smaller one from tariffs, and then we're getting now an energy shock. No one knows how big it will be. It's way too early to know. President Trump has criticized Jerome Powell for not lowering rates. Israel lawmakers passing a controversial change to the country's death penalty law. The bill stipulates the death penalty for anyone who intentionally or negligently causes the death of an Israeli citizen out of racist or hateful motives and to harm Israel. It is a highly controversial bill with rights groups saying it's discriminatory because the law wouldn't actually apply to Israelis who killed Palestinians under similar circumstances. That's ABC's Britt Clinton in Jerusalem. It's too little too late. That's what many TSA agents are saying about seeing some of their pay despite the record-breaking partial government shutdown at DHS. Boise TSA officer Cameron Cokes. It's been nice that we got these paychecks, but at the end of the day, you know, we are still going to be behind with our late fees and all these different things. There's no word on how long those paychecks will last. Congress is now on recess for two weeks in spite of failing to pass a measure to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Delta Airlines still trying to figure out why flames suddenly started shooting out of one of the engines on a plane taking off from Brazil and heading to Atlanta. ABC's Stephen Ganyard says it's not that rare. This is an engine disintegrating internally. Why? Perhaps it picked up something off the runway, a rock, a piece of metal that caused this internal disintegration. Pilots were able to land the plane safely. And blame it on ChatGPT. It seems that DOJ was using the AI tool to decide which programs to cut in the early days of the Trump administration. These men at times were questioned about specific funding decisions. Why, for example, they flagged a documentary about the Holocaust to something that was related to DEI. At another point, it appeared that they actually flagged a grant to support a college's HVAC system. Somehow ChatGPT mixed that up with something that was DEI. That's ABC's Peter Holler-Lombus reporting. You're up to date on Colorado's morning news. Taking a look at your latest business and money news with Kenan Dixon and maybe a little bit of good news. As gas prices in Colorado actually. going down. Yeah, I might put gas in my car today. Meanwhile, the nationwide average is going up. In Colorado today, prices are down another three cents to 387 a gallon around the country. Prices are up to 402 a gallon, passing that crucial $4 a gallon threshold. Colorado Republican Congressman Gabe Evans wants the government to lower energy prices with those gas prices up more than a dollar since the start of the war in Iran. When we produce more energy in the United States, then the... American consumer is insulated from any of the global shocks of energy production when Iran takes the streets of Hormuz hostage because we can make it here.

Colorado is the fourth highest oil and gas producing state in the nation. The panel emphasized what Republican leaders call a need to cut through red tape and boost energy production. The Labor Department wants to make it easier for 401K plans to include assets like cryptocurrency, real estate, and private market assets. The rule falls in line with an executive order from President Trump last year, which called for expanded access to alternative assets in a 401K. Those in favor of the change say it could let people say. save for retirement with greater diversification beyond public markets. Others warn that many investors might not be knowledgeable enough to use these assets effectively, ones that often carry a higher risk. The rule is subject to further review before it can be adopted. I'm Tammy Trujillo. Well, Gina, I know you don't care for Kit Katz, but Nestle says the world's supply of Kit Kat chocolate bars is not being impacted after a big heist last week. The company confirmed 12 tons of Kit Kat bars were stolen while being transported from a factory in central Italy to their destination in Poland. A Kit Kat spokesperson says, quote, we've always encouraged people to have a break with Kit Kat. But it seems thieves have taken the message to literally and made a break with more than 12 tons of our chocolate, the truck. More than 400,000 Kit Kat bars have yet to be located. You're up today on the latest business of money news. I would still eat a Kit Kat. It's just not my first candy of choice. I mean, you said what you said. All right, fair. Let's take a look at your early Tuesday morning drive. We head to the KOA Traffic Center and say good morning to Jonathan Steele. Yep, good Tuesday to you. We're not doing too badly. We've had some construction lingering out here. One spot in particular in southwest Denver along Sheridan. Northbound lanes have been closed overnight and still remain that way between 285 and Dartmouth. They've been detouring traffic there. It's just the northbound side. And then the Boulder Turnpike eastbound was down to one lane at Pecos. I think they may have picked up the cones and opened things up. It was light enough that we weren't seeing any kind of delay there, but Cruise may still be milling around. I-25 looks good. All the other freeways. building in great shape. Jonathan Steele on K-O-A 8.50 a.m. in 94-1 FM. The Colorado Rockies have a win, a 14-5 victory over the Blue Jays north of the border with this two-run shot opening a seven-run sixth inning for Colorado. Two-two. Well hit the right by Troy Mike Johnston up and out of here off the facing of the second deck. Jack Corrigan on the Rockies Radio Network, Ezekiel Tovar went three for six with three runs batted in. That home run was from Troy Johnson. Tomiuki Sagano pitched well in his first start in purple going four and two third innings, allowing two hits in just one run, including that one home run. He struck out four and walked two. Former top prospect, Chase Dolander came out of the board. pin to get the win, pitching the final four innings and allowing four runs on five hits, giving up three home runs. The aves rolled past Calgary nine to two last night at Ball Arena. Nazim Khadry led the way with two goals while Parker Kelly and Jack Drury each contributed a goal and two assists. There are nine games left until the playoffs start and the aves are just...

the fourth team in the NHL since 1995 to beat every other team in a single season. They'll play Vancouver tomorrow night at home. The women's national semifinals will be a battle of number one seeds. Texas took down Michigan 77 to 41 to advance to its second street semifinal. South Carolina took down TCU 7852 in Sacramento. The semis will be played Friday in Phoenix with Yukon taken on South Carolina, Texas taking on UCLA. And some familiar faces in familiar places as the men's college basketball coaching carousel continues to turn. It's providing some great sound. NC State head coach Will Wade is now at use at LSU. The school fired him. four years ago. We're coming back to make history. We're going to make history one way or the other. We're coming back, try to hang a banner, win a national championship, or I'm going to be the first coach fired from the same school twice. But one way or another, one way or another, we're going to make history. And Syracuse is hiring Jerry McNamara, who was on the national championship team with Carmelo Anthony back in the early 2000s, and he has the same goal now as a head coach. I'm here to win.

TSA workers seeing their first paychecks in more than a month amid the continuing DHS shutdown that has led to mass resignations and sick calls. Paychecks reportedly began hitting employees' bank accounts yesterday, but officials have cautioned that there might be some delays in paying TSA officers back in full. Last week, President Trump authorized funds from the one big beautiful bill to cover the missing pay of TSA workers. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticizing Democrats for the ongoing partial government shutdown. Unfortunately, even as President Trump is working hard every single day to protect the United States from foreign enemies, Democrats on Capitol Hill have failed to do the same here at home by keeping the Department of Homeland Security unfunded. The funding battle centers around ICE reforms and has led to the longest shutdown of a government agency in U.S. history. The Palm Beach International Airport may soon become the President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signing a bill yesterday to rename the airport, which is about five miles from Mar-a-Lago. The name change scheduled to take effect July 1st, but still needs to be approved by the FAA. The countdown clock officially ticking towards tomorrow's Artemis 2 mission launch. The deal will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the fair's website. Coming up, how do Americans feel about AI? We'll take a look at the latest survey in our Tech Tuesday chat in just a minute. Taking a look at your early Tuesday morning drive from the K-OA Traffic Center. Here's Jonathan Steele. Yeah, it still looks real good on the highways. We're building nicely. It's light volume, certainly up north, I-76-270, a little bit of traffic there. The Penae drive to the airport's 15 minutes, I-70 to the terminal, 225. Another 10-minute commute there through Aurora, C-470, doing quite well, and all routes in between. I think the only hang-up that you might encounter is along Sheridan, where we've had some lingering construction closing northbound completely in between 285 and Dartmouth. Very short stretch in there. Should be able to get work-orouted.

easily and as light as it is i'm not seeing any kind of backup or delay related to it looks like the turnpikes back to normal after some earlier construction as well near pecos but everything else good mountain roads are in great shape they are dry from here all the way to utah at least i-70 is westbound so no hangups at all up to the divide jonathan steel on c o8 50 a m and 94 1 fm News Time 520. Gina Gondack on Colorado's morning news, the new poll shows while some Americans are excited about artificial intelligence, a majority of others continue to worry about its rapid growth, as well as data centers, and future job opportunities. Joining us on the KUA Health Hotline, what's the latest is ABC News Tech reporter. It's Mike Duboski. Mike, thanks for your time, as always. What were some of the key takeaways that we saw from this survey? Especially, it was pretty fascinating to see the different ages. and how they felt about AI. Yeah, absolutely. This survey comes from Quinnipiac University. They've done this for the last several years around the early springtime, looking into how Americans feel about artificial intelligence and how often they use it. The top lines here are not very encouraging for the AI sector. Trust in artificial intelligence remains pretty low. 76% of Americans say they can trust the information generated by AI either hardly ever or only some of the time. And that's more than three quarters of Americans saying, you know, I'm not going to put a ton of trust in this very prominent and, we're told, very important technology. What's more, there is more concern than excitement around AI as well. 62% of Americans say they are not so or not at all excited about AI, while 80% are either very or somewhat concerned about it. You look at the positive end of things, just over a third of Americans say they are. are excited about artificial intelligence. That's about 35%, 18% not concerned about it at all. So what do we kind of see when it comes to maybe the different ages of people? Does it seem like younger generations support it more or more skeptical about it? Because there's some people that are younger that are growing up with it that may be able to adapt to it or maybe completely turned off by it. That's true. And what we're seeing is largely a division here. This is a survey that has encompassed more than 1,400 people. And they have looked into both the habits of younger people, meaning people. under the age of 35 or so to find exactly what they are thinking about artificial intelligence. And, you know, as is true across, you know, many sectors, the opinions vary, right? This is something that deeply affects people who are in college, in high school, who are coming into the workforce at first. And they find that, you know, hey, this technology could potentially really disrupt, you know, what traditionally has been, you know, a glide path for a lot of people. Well, you know, the older generations.

19:51

have different concerns, right? If you're on social media, maybe you don't recognize necessarily these, you know, AI generated images that are cropping up or AI generated videos. You don't have the sort of, you weren't born and raised on the internet. So that kind of impacts things as well. So, yeah, it's, again, as is anything, a very divisive technology and as we're kind of seeing underlined in this latest data. Job opportunities, obviously a big one. Here at IHeartMedia, we started the slogan, guaranteed human, eliminating any type of AI, music, sound, voices, you name it. So what are we seeing when people have maybe the concerns of how it could impact the job field? Yeah, 70% of Americans say that AI advancements will likely lead to a decrease in job opportunities. So not a very optimistic view of the impact of artificial intelligence on their careers. That's up from last year as well, which had only about 56% of people saying that larger shares of younger Americans, as we've been talking about, said that advancements in AI will decrease their number of job opportunities. That is more than what the older sector of people surveyed were saying as well. More 30% of working Americans are concerned that AI will make their job completely obsolete. That's up from 21% last year. Not very encouraging signs for the AI sector. And maybe more just a personal question. But I mean, Mike, when we look at this, can AI really build the trust? Can companies really do anything to change the public perception? Or is it really just going to have to come with time and more in the progress of what we see with this technology? Yeah, I think that's a really good question. It gets a kind of one of the existential questions that is facing the AI sector right now. We do know that usage of AI is going up. That's underlined in this survey, which found that about 51% of U.S. adults say they use AI for research topics that they're curious about. That's up from 37% last year. So more people are using this technology. And that scans with some of the data that we're hearing from the companies themselves. More than 900 million people use chat. every month. However, when you hear Sam Altman or Dario Amadeh or Sundar Pichai, the heads of some of these major artificial intelligence companies say, hey, look at how influential and revolutionary this technology could be. And then you go to a chat bot and gives you an incorrect answer. Well, that creates a cognitive dissonance, right? And it's really difficult to rebuild that trust. Let's not forget that trust is really important in this conversation because none of these AI companies from OpenAI to Anthropic are making money on this technology yet. Way more people use it than pay to use it. So that is a problem that they're going to need to solve. I think the trust issue is the kind of big existential threat that is facing that challenge. ABC News tech reporter. It's Mike Duboskey. Thanks, Mike. Of course. Take care. More like spring temperatures coming up in the 530 newscast. We'll get the latest on our forecast. Taking a look at your traffic first in the K-OA traffic center. Here's Jonathan Steele. Yeah, not a lot of traffic just yet. We're starting to see maybe a little bit of company up to the north and along routes like I-25 and I-76. Even that Highway 85 drive coming out of Henderson there, near 112th, starting to see some slowdowns developing. Pennius, 15 minutes from I-70 to the terminal, 2-2-5s, 10 minutes out of Aurora, C-470, about 15 minutes through Highlands Ransets in between Ken Carroll and I-25. Longfoot hills looks good, too, coming down Floyd Hill. I did see some slowing early. It was construction overnight there, but all the lanes.

23:21

are open. We'll start to see US 6 starting to slow here before too long west of golden up Clear Creek Canyon. That again is construction related, but everything's good to go out here early. Jonathan's deal on K-O.A. 8.50 a.m. and 94-1 FM. Good Tuesday morning, Tina Kotek on Colorado's morning news, 8.50 a.m., 94-1 FM and on the IHeart radio app. Fox 31 pinpoint weather cloudy today with some more seasonal temperatures. High will be in the upper 50s this afternoon with a slight chance of some showers. Similar pattern for the next couple of days. Right now it's 45 degrees in Denver. Again, finally. Some rain in the metro area, but National Weather Service meteorologist Bernie Meyer says we'll only see a few drops this afternoon. For the Denver metro area, our best chance for rain comes Wednesday afternoon and early evening. Definitely not enough to ease our drought at all. But the mountains getting some much-needed snowfall today and tomorrow. We're looking at 5 to 10 inches at the higher elevations and then get a little bit lower. With some melting involved there, we're probably looking at 2 to 5. He says this month hasn't been the driest march on record, but it has been the... warmest March since records were kept in the late 1800s. A big milestone for the Floyd Hill project on I-70. C.D.Cruz are building a temporary framework to support the future construction of a bridge that will flatten the curve of the road. Road closures on eastbound I-70 will be in effect for two nights at U.S. six exits starting today. So motorists can anticipate a full closure of Eastbound I-70 starting at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st. That work will continue until 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1st. C.D.S. Stasia Sellers says we'll see additional closures on the westbound side of I-70 next month. Social media companies have been put on notice. They now have 72 hours to respond to police search warrants. Governor Jared Polis signing the measure that he says could have alerted police to threats made by the Evergreen High School shooter. He hopes it will also help police solve other crimes. It's everything from helping to track down stolen bikes and cars to helping protect the lives of Coloradoans from dangerous drugs. The bill's sponsor, Representative Andy Baysenekar, says the measure also requires all social media companies to have point of contact with police so they can answer a search warrant immediately. I don't know of another instance where somebody could knock on your door, give you a warrant, and you could say I'll get to it when I get to it. That privilege does not exist for anybody else in our society. However, the measure does not require social media companies to report online threats. Governor Jared Polis says that would violate the Constitution by forcing the companies to assist in government surveillance. The head of Colorado's health care policy and financing department? Stepping down as questions about Medicaid spending remain. Kim Bim Steffer is moving on from state government after leading to the department for more than eight years. Governor Polo says Bimfester took major steps to increase price transparency, reduced hospital and prescription drug costs, and hold the health care industry accountable. But a growing number of lawmakers at the state capital didn't see it the same way. Concerts she wasn't doing enough to safeguard spending.

And neighbors were evacuated. The driver managed to run away. Attacks escalating in Iran overnight with the U.S. launching a massive strike in an Iranian city. Tehran retaliating by striking a fully loaded oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. President Trump now issuing a new warning if a peace deal is not reached quickly. Trump says serious discussions are taking place. Iran says no talks are taking place. There's a gathering of foreign ministers in Islamabad. They're trying to pave the way for what Pakistan's foreign minister called meaningful talks. An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman says, There are no talks. The U.S. demands have been very excessive, unrealistic, and illogical. The meetings that Pakistan has with neighboring countries are, well, a framework they themselves have established. We have not participated in this framework. President Trump posted if Iran does not open the straight, we will conclude our lovely stay in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their electric generating plants, oil wells, and Karg Island, and possibly the D. salinization plans. That's Fox's Mike Tobin. The Supreme Court's agreeing to consider President Trump's order abolishing birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court held in 1898 that anyone born in the United States is an American citizen under the 14th Amendment. Norman Wong's great-grandfather brought that challenge to the court. My citizenship, I should for granted since I was a child. That challenge focused on the Chinese Exclusion Act, but President Trump says the 14th Amendment was really about former slaves. If you could do away with a right. through the constitutional amendment system, then those actually don't matter anymore. Ryan Clark, ABC News. Taylor Swift facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement over the album Life of a Showgirl that was released back in October. You're up to date on the latest business of money news. Taking a look at your Tuesday morning drive, here's Jonathan Steele in the K-O-A traffic center. We're starting to heavy up a little bit to the north along I-25. Maybe a slight reduction in speeds as you're coming down from 104th Avenue, but certainly not in a delay mode at this point. Hitting into downtown's good. We're 10 minutes between downtown of the Tech Center. I-76 West, in from 85 back to I-25. It's still about six, maybe seven minutes there. We'll start to see the ramps backing up a little bit, the 76-270 ramps anyway. But so far so good. Pena's still great and no problems. If you're heading from this point out of downtown north. maybe all the way up to Fort Susan Collins at about 45 minutes. And down south, between here and Castle Rock looks real good. So like I said, good start for us. Jonathan Steele on K-O-A-8-50 a.m. and 94-1 FM.

Well, the abs rolled past Calgary 9 to 2 last night at ball arena. Nazim Codry led the way with two goals, while Parker Kelly and Jack Drury each contributed a goal and two assists at coach Jared Bednar. Outstanding game again for me. Like I know I liked a lot of our guys, right? Like it's hard not to. I think the game turns into... A little bit of River Bowl gambling and equal good and bad. You know, definitely more good overall. After a warm, dry, windy start to the week, we're finally going to see some spring showers. For Tuesday and Wednesday, we're looking at showers in Denver late in the afternoon, Tuesday. A better chance on Wednesday will cool to the upper 50s near 60 degrees both days, so a nice break from the warm temperatures. Coming up next on Colorado's morning news, expectations for the Artemis 2 launch will go live to Florida in just a minute. Taking a look at your early Tuesday morning drive in the K-O-A traffic center, here's Jonathan Steele. You know, we've had some construction on the turnpike overnight. It looked like they were wrapped up, oh, maybe about 30 minutes ago. But for some reason, they blocked off the left lane again there at PECO's coming into I-25, and it is slowing traffic quite a bit. You want to keep to the right there with only the one lane getting through, hooking up with I-25. If you're continuing on to I-25 itself, that looks good. But we're starting to see the slowdowns and the ramps, I-76 and 270, although 270 is not really in a delay mode at this point. Just a little more traffic. traffic, but that's the one, I guess, you'd call it problem spot. Hopefully they'll get out of there here shortly. But if coming in on the turnpike into I-25, just be careful through that construction zone. Jonathan Steele on KOA 850 a.m. and 94.1 FM. KOA news time 550.

K-O. News Time 551. Gina Gondack on Colorado's morning news. Well, weather in other areas, it's still all systems go. As of right now, NASA preparing for its Artemis 2 mission. this week for a 10-day trip around the moon. Four astronauts are set to launch tomorrow from the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Space Center in Florida. Joining us on the KUA Comet Spirit Health Hotline is the iHeartMedia National correspondent and space reporter, Rory O'Neill. Rory, appreciate your time as always. So I know living in Florida for a couple of years, the operations can truly shift in seconds when it comes to conditions and what they can see. But right now, it's actually looking pretty decent for a potential launch tomorrow. You know, it's so funny, listening to the launch and mission managers yesterday, it's like they were consciously trying not to jinx things because so far everything has been going so well. Like they barely had any little thing to fix. There was a pilot light out on this flame stack that burns off some gases at the pad. They have two backups to that, but there's still, well, there's nothing else to do. Let's go fix it. Because, I mean, everything has just been going so well and so smoothly in this countdown. The crew so eager to go. As you noted, weather is sort of the big variable. But even that is 80% go for the launch. And they actually have a two-hour launch window. So in the old space shuttle days or when even the SpaceX rocket launches to the crew to the International Space Station. You have to launch at a very precise time because the space station is traveling at 17,500 miles an hour. You've got to catch it. Whereas now you'll have a two-hour window of opportunity. So if a rain cloud goes by, maybe an hour later, it's gone, and boom, you're good to go. So that two-hour window really gives them a lot of flexibility. Yeah, NASA plans to stream the launch live beginning around 1050 our time tomorrow on its YouTube channel. But Rory, what are we seeing when it comes to this operation as a whole? I guess we should tell listeners what it's all about because a lot of people calling it a moon mission, but this isn't a landing on the moon. Correct. It's going around the moon or the moon will pass in front of this crew and behind them as they launch out there. So this is Artemis 2. It's part of a series of missions called the Artemis program to return humans to the moon, but to stay. You know, when we went with Apollo, we were just visiting. This time we are trying to find out how do we stay on the moon. And tribute note, Artemis was the twin sister of Apollo, and these missions will have the first woman to walk on the moon. So that's also part of this.

And so this is Artemis 2. Artemis 3 next year will launch and test our ability to dock and rendezvous and maybe transfer fuel in space. That was recent. That's sort of a new mission for them. And then Artemis 4 and 5 they have on the books for 2028. Both those missions are designed to land people on the moon in 2028. This is a top priority for President Trump who wants to see our return to the moon while he's still in office. Rory, what are you seeing on the space coast when it comes to spectators? Is this one of those ones where you're already seeing viewers flock to the area around the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Space Center? Or is it going to be similar to what we saw with the Artemis One mission back in 2022? I remember just crowds of people in the area. Well, right, and here we have now what? Some guesses, 400, 500,000 people showing up. It's also Easter week. So so many people are on vacation in Orlando. Orlando to Cape Canaveral, it's only about an hour drive. Actually, if you're standing in Walt Disney World, you could actually see the rocket go up as it were happening. So how's about that for standing next to Space Mountain and watching an actual rocket blast up? You know, it's not great to see, but you can clearly see it if the skies are clear. So, yeah, so a lot of tourists who are here will make that hour trip out. You can stand on Cocoa Beach and go watch a rocket launch. I mean, how cool is that? Yeah, rocket launches never get old in Florida. No matter what Floridians say, they're still so cool every time they happen. IR Media National Correspondent, space reporter, Rory O'Neill.
