Guardians begin to gather again as they get ready to resume the season and play is underway in the open. We'll check out the leaderboard coming up in sports. Let's get to the news. Carmen Angelo is in. Literally, we can smell the top story, right? Absolutely, we can. And those Canadian wildfires, Bill, that are sending that smoke south into Ohio and other parts of the U.S. have prompted the Ohio EPA to issue an air quality advisory today. Ohio EPA pollution control director Bob Hodenbozzi says the smoke from the fires in the southern part of Canada and the hot temperatures locally but may make it difficult for some folks to breathe today. They're outside and I feel it's getting a little difficult to breathe. They should come inside, particularly in the hot weather, come inside into the air conditioning with some cleaner air. Houghton Bosey says we've experienced problems like this before, but not since 2023. Members of Cleveland City Council last night voting to place a moratorium on data centers in the city. Council voting, 14 to 1 to slam the brakes on data centers until the city figures out the best way to handle them. Council also voted to extend the flock camera contract for another six months. Proponents of those devices say they help Cleveland police and criminal investigations. Some opponents of the license plate reading cameras believe. They could ultimately be used for something other than their original purpose. The construction on Interstate 90 from Rocky River into Cleveland is going to be around for a couple of more years, but there have already been 48 traffic crashes in the construction zone between Wager Road and Rocky River to West 44th Street in Cleveland on the interstate. Oh, that's Brent Kovac says. There's little margin for air when behind the wheel on that stretch of highway.

Driving in work zones has less margin for mistakes. The two largest contributing circumstances for work zone crashes are following too close and improper lane changes. Kobax urges everyone to pay attention while driving in that construction zone as there are no shoulders on the side of the highway. He also urges motorists to drive the posted speed limit. U.S. Central Command announcing it launched another round of strikes on Iran, marking the fifth straight day the U.S. launched attacks. This comes after many months of talks of not coming. up with a peace deal between the two nations on Joe Rogan's podcast. Vice President JD Vance said that most Americans are making positive remarks on how the Trump administration is handling the war. Americans do not, they're not game for long term. you know, open-ended regime change wars in the Middle East. They're okay with us using the military to accomplish discrete objectives. They're not okay with open-ended obligations. The vice president also explained he's not worried about the Iranian attacks because their nuclear program is still destroyed and that the U.S. still has enough oil and gas out of the Strait of Hormuz to prevent a worldwide energy crisis. Meantime, President Trump has set to face the nation this evening in a prime time address. President Trump said this week his remarks will center on election integrity as well as other matters. Following a January election office raid in Georgia and months before the midterm elections, President Trump said what he'll say is important. It doesn't get bigger because without free and fair elections, you don't have a country. We'll be discussing other things too, but it's going to be a very big announcement. The president held back on speech. specifics of the announcement he referred to. The Save America Act that calls for proof of citizenship and photo ID to vote has been a priority of the president's second term. Grinnell Scott, Fox News. Life-threatening flash flooding is pounding parts of the Lone Star State. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared a state of emergency in 59 Texas counties. We are dealing with and responding to a flood that is likely. going to break records in Texas history. A primary focus right now, and throughout the remainder of this torrential rain, is saving lives. The National Guard and other state resources were activated ahead of the storms. Dozens of water rescues have already been carried out in hard-hit Evaldi County alone. A man accused of stabbing a mall employee in Utah allegedly told investigators he targeted the victim because he's Muslim. Police say 48-year-old Peter Larson stabbed the employee several times Tuesday at a kiosk inside the Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City before being tackled by bystanders. Investigators say Larson told officers he wanted to kill Muslims and is now charged with attempted murder. Police say he was on parole after being released from prison last year on an unrelated case. A patient from... Iowa has become the first in the country to receive a quadruple organ transplant, including retransplanted lungs. Northwestern medicine says 36-year-old Elizabeth Worley received two donor lungs, a liver, and a kidney. Those transplants are related to complications from cystic fibrosis and chronic rejection of a previous lung transplant. President Trump going to speak tonight addressing us, the nation, on several things. I would think at some point he'll touch on Iran and what's happening. Let's spend some time with Jim Jordan Goodman this morning at money answers. Earlier this week, oil going up there with what was happening with us and Iran in the straight. I think I saw one headline, a four-week high on the price of oil, Jim Jordan. It's right. It's up until the 80s now, and that's because the straight-in-form moves, which had been having ships going through it, now really doesn't as much, and that's causing prices to go up. And so you're going to see that at the pump. I mean, prices had gone down in June at the pump, and now they're going to go back up again. And it's not only the impact of that directly, but the indirect impact on the economy. All the kind of people that use gasoline, truckers.

cruise ships airlines they're all going to be raising their prices And we're going to get back to surcharges. Remember, we used to have surcharges like with FedEx or something. Right. I think we're going to see that again as well because the price of their fuel has gone up so much. So it has a much broader impact than just directly at the pump. Middle of third quarter here. I mean, the stock market still looks like it's going to have a good year. No, some, you know, falls out. People are still taking vacations. I mean, but you still got to cut back somewhere because, you know, where you were filling up for 20, 30 bucks, you're now filling up for 50 or 60 bucks. That's right. And so for consumers who don't have that much expendable income, they're going to be cutting back on luxuries or vacations or other things like that. It's a tax when you have higher gas prices. Think of it as a consumer tax taking money away from spending on other kinds of things. And there's not a lot Trump can do. I mean, well, let's put this way. If we win the war in Iran and open the straight and foremost completely, then we can get oil prices back down. The natural price for oil today. if we didn't have the situation, it would be about $60 a bow, which would be kind of manageable. All right, with the smoke and the stories and all the news now, Carmen Angelo. Hey, good morning to you, Bill, and air quality advisory is posted throughout the state of Ohio. Due to all that smoke from the wildfires in the southern Canada, which being swept our way in other parts of the U.S. Bob Hounbozzi, the Ohio EPA, says those who are sensitive to hazy conditions, he's urging them to stay indoors, if at all possible today. We are projecting levels that are on US EPA scale that would be considered unhealthy. And that would mean for the sensitive groups, certainly avoid long and intense outdoor activities. Houghton Bozzi says this is the first time we've had this problem since 2023, which is the last time we had a lot of Canadian wildfire smoke drifting into Ohio along with high temperatures. Meantime, ABC's Lionel Moist reports the numbers of wildfires born in north of us is now north of 180. Water bombers and helicopters now deploying to fight more than 180 wildfires in Canada. Smoke from the fires turning the sky orange from Toronto to Niagara Falls all the way east. Boston where the sky looked apocalyptic. Breathing's a little bit more strained than normal. I felt a little bit in my lungs like a little burn.

Motorists deal with the ongoing construction along Interstate 90 from Rocky River in the Cleveland, and there have been 48 traffic accidents on that stretch since that construction effort got underway. ODAT's Brent Kovac says there's not much room to maneuver, and he adds folks need to pay more attention while behind wheel. Speed limits are lowered, lane widths are narrower, and shoulders have been removed. These changes require your full attention. And Kovac says that construction will last another two years. Cleveland City Council voting to extend the contract with the company that supplies the city with flock cameras. Those cameras have come under scrutiny by some who say they may be used outside of the guidelines of their original purpose. Advocates to the cameras say they provide valuable information. Cleveland Police in various investigations. City Council in Brook Park approving a new public authority to own and manage the Brown's stadium complex under construction. The move clears the way for developer tax breaks and could allow the Brown's ownership group to receive $600 million in state funding. The authority will have nine members, including four appointed by the developer. The Brown's plan to open the stadium in 2029. Iran's launching new attacks on American military bases as the U.S. continues strikes of its own now for the fifth consecutive day. More now from Fox News Radio's Jonathan Savage. Iranian authorities claim to obstruct U.S.-linked targets across the region in Jim Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain. The United States military has itself completed another six-hour wave of strikes. Explosions were heard across Iran and air defenses were triggered in the capital Tehran. Separately, the U.S. fired on and disabled. an unladen oil tanker, which we're told was attempting to sail towards a blockaded Iranian port. Iran is warning it's prepared to spread the conflict. The country's joint military command has threatened to destroy all the infrastructure in the region. Jonathan Savage, Fox News. President Trump meantime, we'll meet with New South Carolina Republican Senator Darlene Graham today at the White House. Graham was appointed to take over the seat of her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham, who died unexpectedly over the weekend. Tonight at 9, the president will deliver an address to the nation about election integrity. President Trump's pick to oversee the Justice Department was grilled on Capitol Hill yesterday. Senator John Cornyn of Texas pressed Todd Blanche on whether he will go after the makers of a commonly used abortion pill, which is being sent through the mail to women in states where that procedure is limited. This ought to be a pretty easy call because women are hurt as a result of side effects. Todd Blanche called President Trump, the most pro-life president in history, saying that federal health leaders are taking a hard look at those pills, but he did not go into litigation strategy. But LeBron does have several appearances today in New York and also tomorrow. possibly at some point this week. He will today or tomorrow make his announcement and maybe as early as this afternoon. He sent me, Jay always sends me a list of things that they're making news and trending on. United has found yet another way to charge us more just to sit in coach. You know, I think they've got an R&D department at airlines. They sit in a room. You know, nobody bothers them, and they try to say, what more things can we do to actually squeeze money of these people? And the United States found one, and it's, again, I'm not totally opposed here. If you would like to have the middle seat next to you open. Okay, okay. Plus a little bit of Lekyllis. Okay. You can buy that premium seat. Now, they're only going to use it on certain aircraft, certain distances, certain rows, but it's going to give you the option of paying a little bit more so that you can have a little bit more room to work. And it's going to be really, really popular for a lot of the business people that are flying because they don't have to fly first class, save them some money. Plus, a lot of those flights are going to run empty anyways. So the airlines are saying if you want to buy a seat at 125, 150%, whatever it is, and, you know, not everybody's sitting between you, there's places in, you're if you can buy the whole row if you want to on specific flights, and that will you're guaranteed to have plenty of workspace. Nobody around you, nobody bugging you. Hopefully the seat in front of you then recline down on you. But, yeah, it's the same sort of thing that they like to do with regards to finding ways to... Give us as many options as we would like, and I appreciate that. And, yeah, this is yet another one. I get this one. This makes some sense. As long as I get two cans of pop when they come through. Well, you've got three seats. You've got three of them. They give me three bags of them chips, too. The ones I can't stand, the little hidden fees. Like, you go to some resort and you go to checkout and there's like a resort fee or convenience fees and all these little things that pop up. Well, you know, the people there love the tourists, they hate the tourists. Yeah. Because of traffic and then all the other stuff that goes on. It's a big part of the tourism, and yeah, they better treat us nice. All right. Another one here, airline ran out of chicken. I'm presuming everybody was okay with that? You know, other than one person who apparently likes to sue people. So he has taken the United to court saying that, you know, I was unable to get my chicken and he sued it. And he lives in California. This guy has brought like, I don't know, 20 or 30. lawsuits against airlines. They never go anywhere because they're so ridiculous, and this is the latest. And I guess this week, a judge in California, of all places, came down on him for all of these, you know, frivolous little lawsuits over the dumbest of things. But, yeah, you have some people out there that fly that apparently, you know, all they like to do is complain. And airlines are very good these days. You know, if we make you that unhappy.

we'll just have to, you know, part ways and no longer accept you as a customer. And they will do that in a heartbeat. And if you've got frequent flyer accounts, a lot of times they'll just void him out. He's a cereal sewer. Then he's always upset about something. That's a good phrase.
