So, you know, I know it's hot outside, not just here, but across the country. I think the heat's driving some people a little crazy. Just looking at some of the... I mean, I wish we could blame it on that. Yeah, they were crazy before. That's a good point. I think it was the COVID shots. Oh, okay. Don't throw that out there, Max. People have been crazy ever since they made us all take those. You talk about stirring the pot out there. You start to go down that road. I truly believe it. People lost it right after. Now, it may have been because of COVID that they lost it? I think the shutdowns and everything. But people are nuts now. So the reason I bring that up, you know, obviously I disagree with the Supreme Court decision on birthright citizenship. I said at the beginning of the show, look, why put the words subject to the jurisdiction thereof if it didn't mean anything? I mean, just not a lawyer, but that just seems kind of obvious to me. We could go through what the dissent was. Basically what the dissent said is that the framers of the 14th Amendment understood that in order to be subject to the jurisdiction thereof, you must be what they called domiciled into the area, which I know another legal term. But it basically means you have some type of real allegiance to the land where you are. You're supposed to be here, you're living here, everything else. An illegal immigrant. would not count in that or someone just visiting as a tourist would not count in that. So I tend to agree with that. That being said, some of the reaction to the fact that Justice Amy Coney Barrett went the other way is also absurd and really doesn't help our cause. And I just, I don't understand why we have to act this way. Why? Can't we just disagree? Can we just say, you know what?
Amy Coney Barrett, I just disagree with you. You know, you're a great justice, but on this one, I think you were wrong. She probably took a shot that. Oh, the COVID shot. Yeah. That's what's caught. Oh, well, you think you joke about that, but I am sure there are people on social media out there probably making that accusation. But here, but like here's one response. It says it turns out that Amy Coney Barrett is a DEI hire. Little better than Ketanji Brown Jackson. Terrible pick. When's the last time we had a Republican president who didn't put a liberal justice on the court? Now, look, I disagree with Amy Coney Barrett on this decision. But the idea she's the same as Ketanji Brown Jackson? That she's a liberal justice? That it's just like the rest? And so Eric Erickson, who's a talk show host, kind of responded to this, and he's right. These are all the good decisions that conservatives would agree with that were made by Amy Coney Barrett. She voted in order to get rid of Roe v. Wade so states can outlaw abortion. She voted to get rid of Chevron, which means gives power back to Congress in that decision. She gave President Trump certain immunity from prosecution. She blocked states from removing President Trump from the ballot. She basically ended affirmative action in colleges. We talked about it. She ended temporary protected status for Haitians and Syrians. Syrians. There we go. Syrians didn't sound right. Syrians allowed states to prohibit transitioning for minors. That's another big decision that came out yesterday, allowing states. Not only to prohibit the trained gender procedures, but also says that we can't force biological men to play in women's sports, all that. She empowered the president to fire appointed commissioners of independent agencies. She ended the lemon rule and expanded religious liberty. She expanded gun rights. She ended majority minority districts. The whole racial gerrymandering, which we've been talking about on the show. And she gave Congress the power to end mail in balloting. But this is, she's just the same as Ketanji Brown Jackson. See, this is just, it doesn't help. What does, if you're a conservative and you aren't an originalist and you want good decisions on the Supreme Court, how does it help your cause to just say things as hyperbolic as that? Now I get it. Let's face it. We're so desperate for attention. We just want to post things on social media that are outrageous. We know it's going to be outrageous and we do it on purpose because it gets attention. But I just don't understand this. I may be naive, but I truly think that every member of the Supreme Court, their decisions are what they think is right and by the law. All of them. I think they're all. of high integrity. Some of them have a very different judicial philosophy than, say, you and I would have. Well, you know, and two people are not always going to agree on what it's saying. Well, yeah, and I mentioned that yesterday. The real response from conservatives should be this is absolute proof that this is not just some Trump court. There are decisions where they disagreed with Trump. And that's...
That's actually kind of a good thing in the long run because the left, they say this is a Trump court and they say we need to pack the court and radically transform it. And this is absolute proof. That's just not true and it's not needed. In fact, if I were a Republican today, I would immediately put forward a constitutional amendment. Probably won't pass, you know, right now or anything, but we need a constitutional amendment to keep the Supreme Court at nine justices. It should be passed by constitutional amendment and every Republican should be saying that today. That this is proof that the Supreme Court is fine the way it is. And we need a constitutional amendment to keep it at nine justices and that Democrats are way too far out there by wanting to pack the Supreme Court. But instead we get this and this is from Tommy Tuberville. I've had him on the show. I like him. But he said this, which I think is kind of absurd. He said, today's decision from six out-of-touch Supreme Court justices on birthright citizenship will cause chaos in our country for years to come. Now, it's going to cause problems. It will, but the problem's already existed. Like, it's not, this just doesn't change anything. It just continues on with the current problem. But, you know, I agree with them on that to a point. But then he said this. He said, ever since the communist left's meltdown over Roe v. Wade, Some of our justices have been scared of their own shadows. They should remember that their job is to go by our Constitution and to stand up for Americans not to bow to the woke mob. So his accusation, he's not the only one I've seen make this accusation. But his accusation is that Amy Coney Barrett made this decision because she's scared. She's scared of the mob, so she's caving to the mob. Or, or she just disagrees. And that's it. Like this idea that we have to go down this road just seems kind of crazy to me. I do not. I don't understand it. I just think it's completely unnecessary. Now, I do want to place some responses here from different people on this decision. I actually think one of the main decisions that's not getting the attention it deserves that maybe has. even more of a consequence is the decision that Trump cannot fire a Federal Reserve governor. To me, that's actually probably a worst decision by the Supreme Court to say that Trump can't fire a Federal Reserve governor because, I mean, there is nowhere in the Constitution that says the Federal Reserve is now our fourth branch of government. So I actually think, but that one's not getting as much. attention is this one. Maybe it should, but I want to play this cut from Jonathan Turley. He's a legal expert. He was on Fox News talking about this as well. I'm going to go through some of the reaction. to these decisions here it is. Actually, they can do that. The question is how much of an impact it's going to have. It's very difficult to say, well, we're going to crack down on birthright, in birth tourism, because you have to look at the motivation of why people are giving birth here. Now, sometimes it's easy if they're part of these organizations, particularly Chinese groups, that are being paid to bring people in. But otherwise, it becomes a very difficult matter to prove, and certainly difficult on any large scale.
So they can certainly pass that type of legislation. The key about the decision today is that Brett Kavanaugh also disagreed that the 14th Amendment allowed for birthright citizenship. And he basically said you do have a legislative route here. One of the more interesting aspects is that this is a 5-4 decision. So if you do get that type of legislation and it's challenged, you don't know what the court's going to look like when it comes back to it. vote short today. And Clarence Thomas said, he doesn't believe that this will withstand the test of time. All right. So what he's basically talking about there is that Congress needs to come in and play a role. So Justice Brett Kavanaugh really had it right. He said the Constitution doesn't automatically guarantee birthright citizenship, but he says Congress needs to pass statutes, pass laws to limit it. and then he would vote differently when it comes to a case like this. So that really is the answer. And that's one reason why Andy Ogles, Congressman from Tennessee, is putting forward a bill that would basically ban birthright tourism. You know, where people come here on a tourist visa, they have babies, now their kids are automatically American citizens. By the way, I do want to say, if you were listening to us on the stream, I want you to go outside with a megaphone and tell everyone in town they can listen to us on the stream. Because apparently we're just going on and off the air because of the heat. Yeah, the air conditioning gets the transmitter's out. And so it's causing a transmitter to overheat and to keep burning the building down and shuts down. Okay, yeah. And our great engineer is up there right now working on it. No, I would say we should force Dale Jackson to go out there and fix it, but that's just more hot air. Well, that's true. We can hand him a big fan, you know, and say, hey, blow on that. But you're right, it'd beat hot air. Yeah, so if you're someone texted in and said, why am I hearing elevator music? So that's... That's great. Apparently when we get off people to pick it up another station somewhere. Oh, is that what's happening? Yeah, I think that's what's happening. I guess I'll react to this real quick. Okay. Someone said, so Trump is president just to make billions. Oh, and birthright citizenship coming from a dude who marries immigrants is hilarious. There's a difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration. But I will say this. Everyone's making a big deal because I guess Trump. his wealth has gone up since he's been president. And he doesn't manage it, but his family manages crypto and all of that stuff. And I do understand why people have a problem with that. It can look like a big conflict of interest and all that stuff. The reason why it's hard for me to get too upset about that is because Trump was already rich before he became president. Yeah. So he's just becoming richer. If we're going to start going down the road, if president's getting rich by being president,
You start looking at the Bidens. You start looking at the Clintons. You start looking at the Obamas. You want to talk about getting rich out for being president. You can't just look at Trump. For that matter, let's look at all the Congress. Right. Exactly. So, you know, Trump basically is like. He was rich, and I'm not saying everything is great there. I have no idea. And there's nothing wrong. I mean, great if he's making money. He's a businessman. Right. I would hope that he's smart enough to make money. That's true. It's just, if you're going to be upset about that, it seems a lot more sketchy to me to not really have much wealth at all, become president, and then you're just fabulously wealthy by the time you leave office. Then Trump, who's already very, very wealthy. is still very, very wealthy. Like, that's, that's why I can't get too upset at all of that. because the criticism is so inconsistent. Well, if you want to be poor, take a government job at a local level, be a cop. There you go. Be a fireman. Or a radio producer. Or you can go into radio. Yeah, be a radio producer. Yeah, exactly, exactly. We can't even get the AC to work at the transmitter site. I am very blessed. I will say that. I am very blessed. I have everything I need. Not everything I want, but everything I need is provided. And, you know, we can talk about this later, And we have mentioned it before. If you live in this country, even if you're like lower middle class, you have better than most people in the history of the world. Yep. Yep. I mean, you just do. We often complain about the economy and all this stuff. And I totally get it. But just, and it's been going viral. Just look at these people traveling from all over the world coming here. And they're like, Holy crap, it is great here. I think we need to be more appreciative of what we do have rather than worrying about what we don't. Yeah, have some real perspective, especially as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the country. Yeah. You know, we should celebrate it as much as possible because it's a great country. Okay, that really gets to you. That really, I think people. bashing the country, you know, is like it. Man, that gets your blood pressure up more than anything. People not bashing the flag. When I was in school, we stood every day and pledged allegiance to the flag. Yeah. If for some reason, when the Star Spangled banner is sung, it does not put a cold chill up your spine, then you have a problem. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All right, so.
