Yeah, all twitched it up and jerking. I saw it. I saw it. I videoed. Oh, man. That's why I'm on radio and. It's why I'm in radio, not TV. I saw you on TV. You look okay on TV. Yeah, I guess. I guess. If Dale Jackson can be on television, anybody. For real. For real on that one. By the way, I just saw on the screen, they were doing a Grand Prix pit stop in front of the White House. And they had one of the Indy cars there. That was kind of cool, actually. I saw that. I was awesome. I like it. You talk about a quick... Tire change. I know. That was quick. I'm amazing. Matt Murphy about that. He needs to go to that. Yeah, I would have only interrupted two seconds of the show rather than two minutes. Yeah, it's true. Welcome back to Yeah, the Live. I am Tennessee's voice of reason. Now time for the second segment of the Sunday news shows recap.
Recapping what happened, what was talked about the highlights, the interviews from the Sunday news talk shows so you can take Sunday off. I recap it for you on Monday, so you're not to worry about it on Sunday. Before I get to that, though, because I was going to play some cuts of Senator Tim Scott, the other senator from South Carolina, on the legacy of Lindsey Graham. I did see this as well, kind of breaking news on this, as according to the Hill. The sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham has responded to our recommendation from President Trump. for her to fill her brother's seat. Darlene Graham said, actually, I'm just kind of like devastated right now. I was according to the New York Post. On Monday, President Trump said that he recommended the late Palmetto State Senator's sister to replace him as interim South Carolina senator in a conversation with South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. Said I recommended to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham's wonderful sister, Darlene. to serve as interim senator for the great state of South Carolina. So there you go. So, I mean, not much to comment on so far, just Darlene saying I'm devastated right now, which obviously she is. So let me play these cuts from Tim Scott, who is the other senator from South Carolina. He was on Fox News Sunday, kind of recounting his experience, working with Lindsey Graham being a friend. with them as well here it is well thank you america's loss of statesman but more importantly i've lost a friend lindsay was just a powerful force for good as you guys were just reporting his commitment to foreign policy his commitment to international affairs was for one purpose to make sure america remained the most dominant country on the planet and that americans here at home and when traveling they were safer Lindsey Graham was just a powerful force from a member of the United States Senate. But as a friend, I'll never forget when I started the South Carolina of prayer breakfast about 10 years ago. I called Lindsay, and Lindsay was not a morning person. And I called him and I said, Lindsay, my prayer breakfast at 8 a.m., he's like, Tim, if Jesus comes before 10 a.m., I ain't going. And, of course, the first person in the room, Lindsey Graham, about 801, he comes in the room, 8.30-ish, and he was there. That's how he treated his friends. He would do the uncomfortable to make others comfortable. You never felt invisible in Lindsey Graham's presence. In part... Because he had so much pain and misery as a youngster when his parents died 15 months apart and he adopted his sister. His family became his sister in America. And there's not a more aggressive, obvious public servant in this nation than Lindsey Graham. He loved America. And frankly, it's because he loved Americans. Father, I want to steal that line. Because I'm not really a morning person either. And I know some people that are, including my wife, and they just don't understand. But I do like that. If Jesus comes back before 10 a.m., I'm not going. That is how I feel a lot of days. I say that. I mean, I have to get up and be at work every day way before 10 a.m. even now. But I totally understand when they said, Wednesday, Grimm said that. I was like, I like that line.
Here is more from Tim Scott. He was on Fox News Sunday talking about it. Absolutely. One of the things that we should remember is the last reconciliation package that we were able to get through. I should use the different terms of reconciliation. Last budget tool that we were able to use to fund our national security apparatus was brought to us in most part by the budget chairman, Lindsey Graham. Lindsey Graham would tell you that he's better with words than he is with numbers. I'll never forget him saying that as a budget share. He's like, no. I don't know numbers very well, but here we go. What he understood, though, was the importance of keeping America safe. And as we moved to the military spending budget, also known as the NDAA, we have a... role to play to honor his service to this country by making sure that those men and women who don the uniform for our national security and our safety they have the resources and the weaponry necessary to do their jobs and Lindsay was not just as someone who encouraged us to do the right thing he was absolutely one of the strongest cheerleaders for making sure the investment we made in our military was an ROI. The return on that invested dollar would be very strong. And that is something we need to continue. If you read through our Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, one of the things you'll see is half of our enumerated powers has to do with national defense. And Lindsay understood that, but never had to say it. He just talked about the people like himself willing to die for our country. John 15 reminds us that no greater loves that someone have than to lay down the life for a friend. And Lindsay, he was that guy. So there he go. I really appreciate what he said there. It's often forgotten because our federal government is so gigantic now, so absolutely bloated, does way too much. That one good thing about Graham is he did focus on what was something that should be the main focus of the federal government, which is national defense. I mean, that should be the focus when it comes to the federal government. And a lot of times it's not, unfortunately. Now, I did want to update people, too, that if you had not heard, that he died of apparently an aortic tear. which was caused by cardiovascular disease. Some people thought maybe in recent weeks he didn't look good, so it's kind of a sign that that was happening. Unfortunately, when you deal with heart disease like that, I believe one of his parents died of a heart attack too, so it kind of runs in the family. John Ritter, remember the actor years ago, died on a TV set. Apparently that's how he died. Yeah. It says something similar like that. I guess the lesson there is to get checked. As much as you can. Even that. Oh, I know. Doctors, though, Max, I know. That's true. But the lesson should be to get checked. You know, I know there's probably some good doctors out there. I'm sure they're all. I'm trying to find one now. I don't have as much problem with doctors as I do their office staff. Okay. There's too much. It's just like the government. There's too much bureaucracy. There's too much red tape. There's too much paperwork involved in just going to see a doctor.
Too much with the insurance companies and everything else. And I don't think anything makes me matter than to call and get on one of those dang push one or push four. Oh, you're not talking to a real person. Oh, my God. Yeah, because it's always like option, none of the options really apply to you. Yeah. So, so, you know. And then I guess so they push zero if you need to speak to a person. A lot of times I don't even offer that. You have to like kind of guess maybe if I push zero. All right, we're going to move on to some other topics, including Iran. That was one of the big topics on the Sunday news talk shows. So we'll get to that next on Yefee Live.
