Good morning, welcome to the Vince Coakley rating program. Glad to be back on the broadcast. And yes, I will explain what's been going on for the last couple of days. It's been quite an interesting journey for the number of things developing, including health update, which is good, by the way, nothing to worry about. We'll get to that a little bit later on. And also, wow, it's Wednesday, which means it's time for wellness Wednesday. That will be coming up a little bit later on in the broadcast. I want to begin with something that. really kind of blew my mind yesterday. It seemed like it kind of came out of nowhere. And I'm going to tell you why this is so important. I have talked for quite some time about my concern about the next generation. My concern that they grow up as, and I say this especially in the black community. that they grow up with a sense of hope, encouragement, and they were not crippled by fear. They don't grow up with the idea that Whitey is out to get them. I've been watching this whole spectacle the past few years, George Floyd, and all of the police-involved shootings. And if you listen to these folks 24-7, they will have you believing if you walk out your door and you're black, some white person and especially the police are going to kill you. Because the white supremacists are stronger than ever. Starting at the top with Donald Trump. Which is just pure nonsense. Fear, fear, fear. That's all it is.

2:34

One of the disturbing things about this, and I've said this for a long time, fear is profitable. And it's one of the major reasons why I'm convinced it's the only reason the Democrat Party wins anything. That's it. They have effectively, I mean, look at their history. They have a history going back to the days of the Ku Klux Klan, which they were very closely associated with, of scaring the daylights out of black folks. Before it was scaring them against the idea of voting because they were Republican. Now it's scaring them with the idea that we're going to return to Jim Crow and, you know, as Joe Biden said, they're going to have you back in chains. You know, we're going to turn back the clock as if the clock can be turned back. And all of a sudden, all of these white people are going to oppress this again and maybe, you know, we'll be on somebody's plantation somewhere. I'm serious. These are the kinds of fears that they have been cultivating. So the message is, vote for us. We'll protect you from those bad people. And along the way, you've got... what I would call civil rights grifters. Now, you need to put civil rights in quotes because these folks are not concerned about your civil rights. They're concerned about an issue because they're making money and they attain power by doing what they do. Well, it's exciting to learn one such group has now been busted. I'm referring to the Southern Poverty Law Center. And it's pretty stunning what we have learned from a fraud indictment that came about yesterday evening. The acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, said this federal indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center was not politically motivated. This is what they're trying to suggest. This is about politics. No, it's not politics. These folks are accused of funneling millions of dollars to pay informants to infiltrate extremist groups like the clan. And Todd Blanche encouraged people read this indictment for yourself. He said, if the takeaway is that this is political, I think you're going to find the opposite is true.

5:17

Todd Blanche describing their conduct as extraordinarily egregious. The group paid $3 million to people associated with the United Clans of America and other extremist organizations from 2014 to 2023. We're talking about charges for wire fraud, false statements to a bank, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Oh, but their mission is to fight white supremacy and dismantle extremist groups. That's what we're told. But guess what? The attorney general says the very entities this group was raising money to go against the very entities they were taking the money in and paying to these entities and these individuals associated with these groups. So look at how this works. They stir up all this fear. They pay the people creating the circumstance that creates the fear. And then they go on TV, look at these terrible extremist groups. Rinse, repeat. It's crazy. Here is what Todd Blanche had to say about this indictment against SPLC, Southern Poverty Law Center. A grand jury returned an 11-count indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with six counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. According to the charges in the indictment, the SPLC is a nonprofit entity that purports to fight white supremacy and racial hatred by reporting on extremist groups and conducting research to inform law enforcement groups with the goal of dismantling these groups. As the indictment describes, the SPLC was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose. by paying sources to stoke racial hatred. I mean, this is crazy. So in other words, we are basically seeing a situation here where all of the people who were contributing money to this organization were essentially paying arsonists with the idea of stopping fires. This is absolutely insane. Absolutely insane. This is really important to see something like this, this organization uprooted, and get to the heart of the whole culture of fear and exploitation of blacks and other minorities. That's what this is all about. If you take this fear, this one plank out of the Democrat operating mechanism, this party will collapse. And I think any logical person can look at this and determine the whole foundation, the whole reason that most black folks have any association.

8:30

Well, the Democrat Party comes back to the work of organizations like this that is designed to scare the hell out of people. You take this narrative away. You got nothing. Absolutely nothing. Love to get your thoughts as we continue the broadcast of the Vince Coakley radio program. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart. Your local Toyota dealer has great deals available today on RAV4, Grand Highlander, Camry, and Corolla with the features and style you deserve. It means driving for less with hybrid and plug-in hybrid options across the lineup, delivering great MPGs. And it means trading for more. Toyota is known for building long-lasting vehicles, meaning your car will hold its value for years to come. Shop Toyota.com to find out more. Toyota, let's go places. Welcome to the groove. Night sounds here on 107.9 FM. WBT with Bernie playing the tunes. Pull out that cigar. On the Vince Coakley radio program 19 minutes after 10 o'clock. Always a great time here. Over on the WBT text line, driven by Liberty Buick GMC. Stephen writes in, there's fear all right. It's some of the black leaders fearing they will lose their power if they don't blame everything on white America. Heaven help us if everyone would take personal responsibility for their own actions. That includes everyone, no matter the color or ethnicity. Amen. And let me just add, this is not just black folks. SPLC is not a black organization. These are white folks. They are monetizing. Fear. That's what they're doing. And this has a political purpose. Make no mistake about it. That's what this is about. It's about power. Power, power. I love this. Stanley writes in, so the Southern Poverty Law Center is Jesse Smollett on steroids. Yes. A lot of steroids.

11:05

We also have this. Dana writes in, I know you don't believe racism exists. I'm not even going to finish your text, Dana, because that is one of the most ignorant things that I've read this week. It's not even worth reading the rest. No one has ever said in this program, racism doesn't exist. It doesn't. Dana, go get a grip. Really? Vince, I'm a black female Republican. I heard what you just said about the SPLC. All I can say is amen. Thank you. You know, it really does warm my heart to hear from you to know there are people out there like you who are out there. You're busting your rear end to make it happen. You're not looking for special favors. You just want an opportunity. And when it's out there, you're going to go seize it. I know that's who you are. And you're not going to listen to the Osharpens, the other people out there. And, you know, really the worst people, I came across. I'm going to play some of these. I've saved some of these somewhere. I wish you knew the volume of things I collect in a week. But there's some really powerful audio that I have. from Malcolm X, who was on to white liberals years ago. I mean, we're talking decades ago. He knew what these people were about, and unfortunately, people didn't listen. See, the people I'm concerned about are not wearing white hoods. They're the ones who are coming to me and telling me, oh, you poor little black man, let me help you. Those are the people that I want to stay away from me and I don't want to hear. It's really. That's it. So that has to be understood. Another big development yesterday evening. happened to a state just north of us. As you know, there's a big battle going on and this is all about control of Congress. Can I just say something? And I don't know if I've said it in these words before. Let me make this very clear. I think democracy is one of the most dangerous things on the planet. Yes, I said it. And I go back to what I said before because I made this comment some days ago.

13:52

The people who want to control you do not fear democracy. They don't. You know what they fear? A constitutional republic where people actually follow through on what is in that constitution. That's what they fear. Because what it will do is it will restrain the people who want to control you. They love democracy because they know people are so stupid they will vote themselves into knots to restrict their own freedom. That's exactly what's going to happen. All this talk about democracy, democracy, democracy. They know where this ends. Democracy ends up in tyranny. It ends up in mob rule. That's where it goes. And please, those of you on the Republican side, I'm going to talk about Virginia, but please do some self-examination because I'm concerned a good part of the Republican Party has turned into a mob. And the danger is the same. I don't care if it's a Democrat mob or Republican mob. I don't want either. Because what happens with populism? It is very destructive. That's what we're seeing. We've seen it on the Republican side. Now we're seeing it on the Democrat side. So what am I talking about? Democrats. They have won a major victory in Virginia. A redistricting vote. that gives them a chance to flip four house seats currently held by Republicans. So what does this do exactly? I mean, here's what's so disturbing about this. You're making a monumental change. Let me tell you about the margin. of votes. Now this was as of the time this story was reported 1.31 million in favor 1.29 million against that's 50 50 ladies and gentlemen 50 50 so what has happened here now what will happen is this state this huge state of Virginia will only have one Republican seat, just one. That's what they've done. Now, this is payback because of what's been done in Texas. I want you to hear this clip from Jeff Zellini from CNN in a conversation with Anderson Cooper yesterday evening talking about the impact of this vote. A year into this redistricting fight that the president started with the Texas effort, followed by California and now Virginia. It really is about a wash now. And in fact, Democrats will prevail slightly in the overall map in terms of the number of seats that have picked up. So largely the gambit that the president started about a year ago to try and help his house a majority in November has been erased entirely. The enthusiasm is still on the Democratic side. There's no doubt. There will be long.

17:17

long-term questions about this of Virginia. redistricting effort, going from six Democrats and five Republicans to 10 Democrats and one Republicans. But clearly, as so many voters have been mentioning to us over the weeks, fight fire with fire. So that's what Democrats did there. So for Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic leader, who clearly was central to this effort to push Virginia Democrats to go to the map and really expand this significantly, this is a major win for him. So overall, the vote yes side is going to prevails CNN is of projecting so a big deal in the midterm election fight now just six months away yep they are gunning to take over the house and this is a major step in this process now there's always possibility that a court could come now and decide that there's something wrong with the constitutionality of this referendum otherwise In Virginia, Republicans are screwed. Absolutely screwed. I mean, let me repeat that vote count again. 1.31 to 1.29. It's like 50-50. But Republicans are going to end up with one house seat. What this is, this is greed. This is all about power. Now, don't call in or text in. Well, you can say your day when Donald Trump did. I don't care. The problem is, this is, and here's the other prediction I'm going to make. This is ultimately, you know, this is supposedly a Democrat victory. This is a Unip Party victory. Uniparty. Because what I've been watching for the last, I don't know how many years, the policy of overspending and overtaxing, it doesn't stop. It doesn't matter who's in office. Let me just remind you of that. So I just put this out there. So where does this agenda go from here? Well, if you haven't heard already, you're going to hear what one... political advisor is recommending with a 2028 agenda. It's very, very disturbing. Another example, what happens when people get power? And, of course, we will talk about the latest cave. Yes, that's exactly what I'm calling it from Donald Trump. Decided to give the Iranians more time. Isn't it wonderful?

20:00

On the WVT text line, driven by Liberty View GMC. This text would like to know, is that radio personality Venus flytrap? By the way, I saw something interesting. I didn't read the story. I just skimmed it. But apparently WKRP call letters have opened up, and a station in Cincinnati is going to get those call letters now. That was kind of interesting. I need to read that story to find out more about what is going on there. Dana, because I'm a nice guy, I decided to read her text. Let me just read what she said last. That's what I mean. You took the first line without looking at the evidence that supports it. I'm speaking about a police officer that's showing racism, but to satisfy your listening audience, you have to defer. No, it's not about satisfying my listening audience. Dana, let me just encourage you. Why don't you start off by just speaking the truth? without hyperbole and i i would be more inclined to read what you have to say but if you start off with something that's not true i'm just not interested that's all this is not about a you know a rejection of the idea that racism of course it exists anyway She sent a YouTube clip of police officer in Houston saying the N-word and how she hates them, calling them chimps and monkeys, and now she even tried to frame one of them so she could beat them. I know in your world it doesn't exist, but out here in the real world, it still does, my friend. See, Dana, this is the kind of communication. This is why a lot of people don't want to listen to what you're saying, Dana. You've got to pull back from this idea.

21:58

that there's a denial that there are racist people out there. They exist. And you know what I love? I love the fact that they're saying who they are. So we can prosecute them. And yes, this person belongs under the jail. If what you've described is true, they belong under the jail. So I hope you understand where I'm coming from. There's no tolerance for this. I hope this helps you to understand where I'm coming from. So there's no misunderstanding whatsoever. Scott writes in about this Virginia thing, the beginning of how Hitler was brought to power. All of these people want people that aren't like them dead, not even in the same society. That's the part that seems like history is repeating. Scott, and let me tell you, this is on both sides of the political spectrum. This idea that we cannot coexist with people who disagree with us. This has become very, very pronounced in a lot of people. And people are rejecting marriages and family relationships and friendships because someone disagrees with me. This is horrible. So I want to make this very clear. uh we've got to find a way to move away from this insanity because that's exactly what it is my enemies have to be destroyed no why don't i try moving away from demonizing people and engaging sensible people and i think there's enough of us out there is this tony reading in stay tuned until 12 oh this is terrible Anyway, somebody is saying they're making fun of the idea that this fourth ceasefire is actually part of Trump's master strategy. You just have to trust the process, Vince. Yeah. I get the sarcasm, and it's very appropriate. Why? I'm going to get to Iran a little bit later, but I think you already have a sense of where I am on this. I'm beyond over it, far beyond over it. Still to come in the broadcast, promise I will get to this stunning declaration about the 2028 agenda. If, God forbid, the Democrats have House, the Senate, and the presidency, what would they like to do? You'll hear what one man has to say as we continue our broadcast. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart. Right now, your local Toyota dealer has great deals available on some of the most reliable trucks on the market, like the off-road ready Tacoma, rugged full-sized tundra, and legendary forerunner, each with the space, tech, and features to handle it all, from the work site to the trails. It means driving for less, with efficient hybrid options available, extending your overall driving range and delivering great MPGs, meaning bigger savings at the pump without sacrificing power. And it means trading for more. The Tacoma and Tundra are ranked number one and number two in resale value over all vehicles, according to Kelly Boo Book, which can mean thousands more than average right back in your pocket when it's time to trade in. That's Toyota affordability. Buy smart, drive for less, and trade for more. ShopToyota.com or your local dealer for deals and details.

25:32

Vehicles projected resale value is specific to the 2026 model year. For more information, visit Kelly Blue Books KB.com. Toyota brand average resale value is 53% versus the average vehicle at 45%. Toyota, let's go places. And you'll have an opportunity to see those two, Bo and Beth, coming up in just a few weeks. We're talking about Tuesday, May 12th, Heist, Brewery and Barrel Arts, a night of fun conversation about everything that's happening here in Charlotte, D.C., everywhere in between. WBT's News and Brews. Visit WBT.com for tickets and event details, and so hopefully I've answered your question, Jeff, because Jeff. sent a text to me some days ago asking, when's the next time we're going to have a news and bruise? Well, there's your answer. I expect you to be among the first to sign up. So make sure you are there. So what is the agenda? What is the whole end of this? And I get the idea behind this because this message is very important on both sides of the aisle. And that is you get power to do something with it. I mean, how many times do you hear these politicians? Well, I'm going to go to Washington. We're going to do this. We're going to do that. And most of the time, they do nothing of consequence. That's just the reality. So the pressure is really on both sides of the aisle to go and do something that's actually consequential. On the Democrat side, and I think I can honestly say, I think this is a major difference between Democrats and Republicans. I do think genuinely most Republicans want to convince and to win people over and win. The worst of the Democrat Party, power structure, wants to completely get rid of the opposition and any possibility they can ever even have a chance at winning in the future. See, that's a huge difference. See, and to clarify my position, I would love for us to come to a place where there's no place for the Democrat Party, not because the party's banned, but because people come to understand the Constitution and what it means, and they make the choice, and that's the key thing. Their hearts and minds are changed. That's what I'm hoping for. I'm not trying to force people into something. The radical Democrats, what they want to do is to make sure that there can never, ever be another Republican president ever, another Republican House or Republican Senate ever. This is, frankly, diabolical. And if you don't believe me, just listen to one James Carville, talking about what he would like to see for an agenda for 2028. The Democrats win the presidency, the Senate and the House in 2028, which is not impossible. I don't know if you say likely a possible, I don't know what word, you know, but it's certainly not impossible. They are just going to have to, you know,

29:05

expand the court to 13 members. Any of those things in isolation, I would be skeptical about, I would be cautious about. I would say, well, I don't know if that's the greatest idea in the world. You're opening Pandora's box or all kinds of things. If you want to save democracy, I think you've got to do all those things. Because we're just moving further and further away from being anything close to democracy. What word do you keep hearing over and over again? Democracy, democracy, democracy. And you need to translate this. This is not about saving the country, democracy. This is about saving the Democrat Party and basically empowering the Democrat Party for forever. So there's no opposition whatsoever. They're looking to do several things here. Yes, they want Puerto Rico. Yes, they want D.C. to become states. But to add to the mix, they would love to turn Texas blue, which I can tell you, if they succeed at that, this is over with. They know that. This is what I want to, and as much passion as I can possibly put into this, this is why it is so important that we know what the true issues are. And we're consistent in communicating them in a loving manner with our neighbor. We need to win them over. And we need to win this younger generation over. This hardcore in-your-face stuff is not going to win people. It may entertain people, but it's not going to win them. And if we don't win hearts and minds, over time, as people die off, I don't know if I played those clips. Bernie and Nick, do you remember whether I play the clips from Harry Inton talking about the age difference in the electorate and who they, I don't think I have. I need to get to that at some point, but it's mainly older people. who, and I saw this in an election that's coming up, the disparity. It's the younger people who are hardcore holding on to what is, you know, basically in the past. And they want to hold on to this structure. rather than looking to the future and thinking what's going to advance us and get us to our you know and then the crazy thing is it's the older people who've lost their way and they're the younger people are embracing the liberty minded people They're embracing the Thomas Massie's and the Rand Paul. They're the ones who are holding on to principle. Many of the older people are holding on to the old people, not the values. Do you have, I think you were trying to play that clip from Harry Ensign. Go ahead and play what you have there. I think. Maybe not. We'll get that together in and perhaps get to that in the next hour. But it's...

32:32

It's really, what was that again, Bertie? Yes, go ahead and share that particular clip, Bernie. Go right ahead. Okay, so, you know, we spoke about the midterm elections. So, you know, oftentimes I ask myself, okay, you know, the president isn't obviously up for election this November, but Republicans in the House are. And so I think just making this comparison, right, you know, we've seen a lot of folks saying, oh, Republicans do when it comes to the midterm elections, but just take a look at this, choice for election among age 65 plus. Back in November of 2024, Trump won that group by one point. We've seen some movement, but really not that much movement. Democrats ahead by three in the race for Congress. And as John and I were talking about, This could cost Republicans the House, but a number like this suggests to me that Republicans very, very well and are likely to hold the Senate. This is what we've seen in the polling data. When we look nationally, we see that the movement simply put isn't there. And when you get the most reliable voting block, basically Republicans holding their own with maybe some slight movement of Democrats, these are the types of numbers that I think Republicans have to be pleased with. I will say, though, even this slight movement, probably enough at this stage to think. For the House, but not for the Senate. And you know what it is, what he's talking about? It's older voters. Older voters. We've got to figure out a way to motivate and get younger people engaged. That's going to be the plan for the future. We've got to focus on that. Coming up, we've got wellness Wednesday here at the Vince Coakley Radio program. Our number two is straight ahead.

34:34

And you've heard the breaking news out of Iran. They just don't stop, do they? They have fired on three ships in the Strait of Hormuz after Trump extended the ceasefire. Does this make sense to any of you? What do they have the resources to fire with? Anyway, we'll talk about this a little bit later on. And get your thoughts. I want to finish where I was going earlier about the electorate, the dependable people who are showing up to vote. Harry Enton had this conversation recently on CNN when he was talking about how it looks like the map is a little more favorable to Republicans, especially in the Senate, even though the House may be lost. to the Democrats. And here is what he had to say about what could be the saving grace for Republicans. President Trump is more than holding his own amongst a very large portion of the electorate, a very reliable voting block, and that is senior citizens. Take a look here. Okay, Trump's approval rating age 65 plus. In March of 2025, 46%. Look at where it is now. It's basically the same. Seniors have not moved. He's at 44% now. And the key nugget here is for all this talk about young people in the electorate, such as myself, or at least I like to include myself in that block, it turns out that older voters, senior citizens vote in far larger numbers. So Republicans look at this number and they say, hey, you know what, we can actually potentially do some real damage or at least hold our own in the midterms because President Trump is holding his own with this very important voting block. So how does that number 44% compare historically to other presidents? Okay, this is where it gets even more interesting. It turns out if you'll look at all the 21st century second term presidents and you'll look at senior citizens, Trump actually has the best approval rating at this point, the second term of all of them. Donald Trump at 44%. Obama was under 40% at 39%. George W. Bush was way down there at 34%. So Donald Trump is beating other presidents this century at this point. their second term, beating all of them, and therefore, as I said, holding his own amongst a very key voting block. The President of the United States in the White House should like this number, especially compared to Obama, who Trump, of course, always likes to be. I'm sure he loves that comparison. I thought you would find this very interesting because what matters? is not ultimately the polling. What matters is who shows up. And this could determine some very important races this fall. Older people show up. But to me, part of the challenge of this, you older folks, you've got to engage your children, your grandchildren, and do it with grace. Convince them. Don't shame them. Don't ridicule them. You've got to do some serious work. and make sure it's based on principle, not a personality or a party. Because that's going to go by the wayside. And I think people are going to find this sooner than they think that this personality thing is going to get old really quickly, especially under the economic conditions we are seeing. Personal story time. I wanted to update you on a couple of things. Monday.

38:13

I mean, I had every intention of being here yesterday, and as you know, I was not here. I had a message left for me while I, immediately after this broadcast, I had a 120 flight on Monday to visit my cancer survivor friend in Tri-Cities, Tennessee. And so I did a trip. I mean... uh because of the medical stuff and other things i've been wanting to do this for a while i thought you know i need to find the time squeeze it in so get a little to how crazy this was the departure time was 120 so i left right after the show last person on the plane which is always amusing uh when the door just pretty much closes right behind you and my return flight boarded at 350 It gives you an idea how little time I had. So I, fortunately, that time of day, it's not very busy at the airport. I think we took off about 130. and touchdown at 2 o'clock. I mean, it was that quick. The time you reach altitude, you're up that altitude maybe five minutes, and then they start doing the descent. And so immediately got off the plane and just had some great conversation with my friend and opportunity to encourage him and find out what's going on. So while...

39:49

After that, I ended up coming back in the afternoon, discovered a message that there was a step, an important step before my radiation treatments today. They needed one more CT scan. I was like, okay. So they said, we need you to come in tomorrow morning. Which is what I did. So went in yesterday morning, got the final briefing on everything. They did a final CT scan. And this morning had my first radiation treatment. It was, I got to get the nurse to take a picture of this because it's bizarre. And it's very different than last time. The radiation, they use what's called, I think it's called gamma knife. And it's very, very narrowly focused radiation. So the important thing is your head does not move. So you're wearing this mask and they snap this mask down to a table. So you can't move your head. I mean, that's how precise they need this to be. So you cannot move at all during the entirety of this time while they're directing this radiation toward the tumor. So it was quick. I mean, it was, they basically told me it's about 15 minutes. each time for the treatment of course there's preparation time in terms of going in and setting up but um first one's done one down four to go and again for those you may not know it's a benign tumor their concern is long term if this is allowed to grow it could threaten something like an optic nerve which would not be a good thing because I would like to see for the rest of my life. It's really important. So any case, I thought I would update you on that. Very thankful that this was discovered and the means are there to address this effectively, which I very much am looking forward to. Let me quickly get into another item for Wellness Wednesday. This is about relationship. You know, everything is about relationship. And please, if couples, I'm addressing you right now, if you've not laser focused on anything else during this broadcast, please laser focus with me right now. This may save your marriage. This may be a turning point in your marriage or your relationship. Psychologists say couples who reconcile within 30 minutes of a fight are 80% more likely to stay together. Every couple fights, but what determines long-term stability isn't how often they fight, it's how fast they repair. Studies from the University of Washington.

43:02

and Dr. John Gottman's research show the couples who reconnect within 30 minutes of conflict are significantly more likely to stay together. Here's why. Prolonged arguments activate the amygdala, the brain's fear center, keeping both partners in a defensive, ego-driven loop. Early reconciliation lowers cortisol, steadies heart rate, and reactivates the prefrontal cortex, the part responsible for infancy and reasoning. In simple terms, your brain shifts from protect yourself to protect the relationship. Healthy couples don't avoid fights. They recover faster. They choose peace over pride. I love this post. This is so important. Do not. It goes back to, and I don't mind repeating this a million times, something I heard years ago, like I was preaching this about reconciliation and offenses. He said, don't curse, nurse, or rehearse, disbursed, and God will reverse. This is what typically happens when people give time. Well, I need time. I need time. Time is not on your side in a conflict. Separating during a conflict is not going to solve a conflict. And the longer that you are away, and this, I get this. I get this 100%.

44:48

This is why it's always been a priority my entire life. I don't cultivate offenses. There's something I'm aware of. I want to get on it right now. And I practically drive people crazy sometimes because a lot of times people don't want to do that. They want to stew and stuff. I'm not interested in stewing and stuff. I'm not going to go to bed angry. And I'm not going to carry an offense into the next day. I just refuse to. And I hope you choose to do the same. Don't even let a half hour go. So I hope this is helpful for someone. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart. Back to the broadcast 20 minutes after 11 o'clock. It's pretty interesting to see apparently some very interesting groups and individuals in corporations funded the Southern Poverty Law Center. We're going to talk more about this. They're coming out. In fact, they've put out a video. Brian Fair, who is the interim president and CEO. He's a black man. He is apparently issuing a statement fighting back against these accusations. We'll probably share some of that audio with you tomorrow. It's just crazy. It's just crazy. The... The grievance industry. It's very, very profitable. Put it on your calendars, May 12th. That's the date. The W.E.T. Air team will meet you at Heist Brewerin Barrel Arts, a night of fun conversation about everything happening here in the city, in the nation's capital, and around the world. WBT's news and bruise, visit WBT.com for tickets and event details. So we should probably get caught up on the WBT text line, driven by Liberty Buick GMC. David, writing, I assume this is a message for Dana. who is very concerned that somehow I believe racism is gone. Your textor is not ready for the world of AI video. She'll be blowing her top till the end of time and believing the world is a racist mess that hates her. Just where the Dems want her. Yeah, this is how it works. It's crazy.

47:57

Brian says Vince, the dim idea of democracy is three wolves and a lamb deciding on dinner options. That is exactly right. That's how this works. You know how that turns out. Russ writes in, Carville, yeah, we'd hate to have to do it, but to save democracy, we have to have permanent power and make sure no opposition voices can be heard, much less do anything about it. Yeah. Jeff says, I'm not a big fan of the gerrymandering either way. It seems like these Republican-leaning states are finally playing the game. These Democrats have been playing for years, states like California, my home state of Illinois, for many years, along with these northeastern states. Let's also not forget the census overcounted some Democrat states and undercounted some Republican states in 2020. Turnaround is fair play. And if this stands, keep an eye on Florida. Dean, sounds like we're talking about electing the Democrat Party or Republican Party, not the candidates. Sounds like we're profiling politicians by their party affiliation, not their beliefs and positions. So which comes first, the party or the politician? Every voter has always had one vote to be cast for any politician they feel serves them best. Floyd writing it about Iran. Iran is calling Trump's bluff. Of course they are. Stanley, in regard to your conversation with Dana, yes, does racism exist? The Good Samaritan parable was written over 2,000 years ago to address the heart condition that's been inherent in humanity since the beginning. As I observe, what we call racism today, I've noticed that most of it's actually based on social class or stereotypical behaviors as opposed to skin color. You are so right about that. Won't have to be a total illogical idiot to believe that all people of a certain color are in their hearts inherently evil. I keep hoping one day we have finally learned and send racism back to the pit of hell where it belongs. What I do know is a government law and government reallocation of wealth supposedly designed to help with that problem has made it worse and is not the solution. It will only come about when people's hearts are changed. Stanley, you get it. Change of heart. Lee writes in, hadn't heard about the tumor. I'm thankful it's benign, putting you on my prayer list. Keep up the good work. Thank you, Lee. Appreciate your prayers. Bill Cassidy also saying the same, praying all goes well with your treatments. That would scare me having to have my head still and that kind of a mask. I get claustrophobic. So kudos to you. You don't want the things that helps. They ask me, what kind of music do you like? And I, of course, like jazz.

50:54

modern i don't know what it was it's i guess it's modern pop music of some and i and before she switched it for about five minutes while they were putting on the mask you know it was it was awful i mean it was just terrible and when she finally switched i was like ah i can relax now so that helped me to be able to relax i was a little more restless listening to that garbage Textor, thankful for medical breakthroughs. Ten years ago, your condition probably would not have been discovered. I also want to hear your voice for many more years. Thank you. When you described locking your face in a mask bolted to a table, I had a major claustrophobic shutter. I know a lot of people say this. A lot of people say this. And Alan, let us stay focused on the importance of multiple missing scientists, possibly kidnapped by China, North Korea, or Russian agents. Yeah, we need to talk about this issue of the missing scientists. It's a bizarre story. Bizarre story, indeed. I am making a note to myself, so I... Make sure I do not forget. Okay. Let's see. Where did I want to go? Oh, let's talk about Donald Trump and war headlines. His approve rating. And you know, I was thinking this lesson. I was talking to a friend of mine. Donald Trump has to be losing his mind. I mean, you've heard the stories, and I don't care what people say, well, I don't believe the fake news. I think he has become unhinged at times. And you're going to understand why. Approval rating 32%. Guess whose presidency he now matches in approval rating. Yes, Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter. And I know that has to frost him. Iran gunboats, menace Hormuz, seize ships as ceasefire extended. USA blockade collapses. Can I just repeat? And I think it's important. I'm going to repeat to you again what I've said over and over again until Iran cries uncle. And let me say this. Let me add this to the mix. I don't want to hear, I really don't want to hear another thing from Donald Trump at all on this war. I'm tired of hearing about, oh, we're going to give them a few more days. We're going to bomb the hell out of them. Stop. Just shut up. Shut up. And get the job done. And the next voice I want to hear is Iran crying uncle. And until that happens, I don't want to hear a single thing out of this White House. about the status of this war. I just don't. It's worthless to hear it. How many of you agree with me? I know there are some who may disagree. Still to come on the broadcast. And I'm going to add something to a prediction.

54:14

that I have made before. And that prediction is I think there's going to be a further collapse of support for Donald Trump, especially if this war continues. And I think this is whether the war continues or not. This is because of economics, what's going on in our economy. But I think people are also, especially in light of this, they're tired. This act is tired. And for people who have been drinking the orange Kool-Aid, the deepest, I think some of those folks, more of those folks, are going to break from the president. And don't be surprised if some of them run away from the president come election time this November or for their primaries. I think it's going to reach a point where it's not going to be profitable to have an endorsement from him. And I think one of the issues that has turned this is the Iran War. There was a promise we were not going to get involved, and you can say whatever you want. Well, he said we're not going to get bogged down or yada, yada, yada, yada, yada, yada, yada, yada. The bottom line is this is not what a lot of people perceived. They thought we were going to stay away from this kind of thing entirely. And as they watch this play out, especially, and yet basically dragging out, dragging out. There are more people checking out. Still to come, you're going to hear from a couple of those people. One person who's actually apologized for endorsing the president than another person who is essentially celebrating the fact that there seems to be some distance developing between the president and the leader of Israel. That much more as we continue the broadcast of the Vince Coakley radio program.

56:12

Back on the Vince Cookley radio program, 39 minutes after 11 o'clock on the WVT text line. Driven by Liberty Buick, GMC. We have this. Let's see. I think we pick up with this one. And that is, when it comes to the war, my philosophy is, let's do it then. Then talk about it. Let's do it. Then talk about it. Alan. Yes, President Trump needs to go silent on Iran, just like the old Nike slogan. Just do it. Stop their bid on the bomb. Yeah. Pretty simple. unfortunately a Kool-Aid drinker not too pleased with what I had to say probably won't be pleased with what this person had to say Tucker Carlson who has pretty much jumped off the Trump train and now And this is largely, I think, what pushed him over the edge was the engagement in Iran. Here is what Tucker Carlson had to say and basically offered an apology. Listen up. You and I and everyone else who supported him. You wrote speeches for him. I campaigned for him. I mean, we're implicated in this for sure. Yes. It's not enough to say, well, I changed my mind. We're like, oh, this is bad. I'm out. It's like in very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now. Yes. So I do think it's like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. You know, we'll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I'm sorry for misleading people and it was not intentional. That message from Tucker Carlson, who, and I think what he's saying here is he basically feels like he misled people by telling them Donald Trump was America First and was not going to engage in a war like we're engaged in now. And for that reason, he's come to the point where he's had enough. What do you think about Tucker Carlson? I'm just entertained to watch some of the social media reaction. And this one of the things I've found disturbing from day one is that people are not able to disagree without being treated like they have committed an assassination. I mean, if this changes your life in some way, you need to get a life. I at least have to give Tucker Carlson credit for having the courage to stand up and say this. Knowing the media universe as I know it, this may have a tremendous impact on his audience. I don't know if I shared this before.

59:37

But back during the first Trump presidency, that particular election, I will just tell you, I reached a point where I was only able to listen to one talk show host toward the end of the election. Just one, because everybody else was really kissing Donald Trump's rear end. There was one talk to host who was the very last to jump on board. And a person who is in the industry told me behind the scenes one day, he said, Vince, they have realized because of the base, they cannot stand in this position of principled opposition anymore. They can't even just disagree. They had to do it. And I'm convinced this is. This has had a chilling effect on all of Republican media. I'm not even going to call it conservative because it's not conservative. Conservatism got dropped some time ago. And now what we have, and I've said this before, is largely a cult of personality. And if you're not part of that, the mob will come after you.

1:01:03

This is one of the reasons why people have been reluctant to even take issue with certain things. And because once you take issue with something, you're immediately called a never-trumper, even if you voted for the man three times. You know, the facts go out the window, and emotion takes over. And it's amazing. These are the same people who say this about Democrats. They do the same thing to people who have dared to come out and just say, you know what, I'm not doing this anymore. Marjorie Taylor Greene, never been a fan of hers. But hey, I think she made a principal decision. Can't do this anymore. And I respect her. Doesn't mean I agree with everything that she says. But we've got to get back to this place where our constitutional values are what unite us. Not a person. Because that person is not going to be around forever. Something to consider. I promise we will get to some of your texting calls. Hang on. Please hang on just a little bit. I want to first go. to an interesting clip from Steve Bannon. You know, that's Steve Bannon, who I just can't find anybody. I don't think I can identify anybody who has been more of a Donald Trump supporter than Steve Bannon. It's a point of going to jail for it. That's Steve Bannon. He's been very upset about our involvement in Iran, which he... taking messages basically from this administration, recognizing the role of Benjamin Netanyahu in this. This is his take on what happened with this latest ceasefire agreement. Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are prohibited from doing so by the United States of America. Enough is enough. America's greatest ally just got put on a report. Let me repeat that. And Tel Aviv Levin and you entire, and Benji Josh Shapiro, the entire Israel first crowd, the commander-in chief of the United States military had to go on a social media platform to tell the world that we're not playing games anymore with America's greatest ally. If properly... executed by the United States military and the United States government could be a landmark moment. And of course, Tel Aviv Levin and Benji Josh Shapiro and all their acolytes and Miriam Adelson and everybody, they're all up in arms. They're all going to be over President Trump. He had to go out. Enough is enough. President Trump, as I say, when he says, no more games. No games. So he just put BB on notice, no games. Got to tell you.

1:04:46

couldn't be more humiliating. Everybody on the Israel First Project, all your pom-poms, nothing could be more humiliating than what the commander-in-chief was forced to do on his social media platform. So all the world saw it at the same time he told you. Because they've set it behind the scenes and trying to be nice about it, trying to be accommodating, and you just won't listen. And Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz and that entire cabal. in D.C. should be put on notice. We're not doing this anymore. You're not going to jeopardize the national security interests of our nation, and you're certainly not going to put our young men and women in harm's way, and that's exactly what you guys allowed to happen. And Lindsey Graham should pay for that. If the good folks in South Carolina really look at the facts here, Lindsey Graham will be turfed out. Whoa. And that was an interesting ending point in what he had to say here. Obviously, Steve Bannon feels like Donald Trump has been listening to the wrong people. Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham. Now, I'm kind of late to the game. I'm just being honest with you. I mean, I've... Well, I'm not really late to the game because I've been calling for getting rid of Lindsey Graham for years. And South Carolina has not been able to do that. By the way, for the record, I've reached out to candidates who are interested in taking out Lindsey Graham, the main candidate, by the way, and I've not heard anything back from this campaign. I don't know what kind of campaign is being run and who is running it. But when you don't have a, you've got an opportunity to reach a significant number of people in the upstate of South Carolina, you probably ought to jump on that, especially when you're trying to take out an incumbent member of the U.S. Senate. I want to mention that first because it's past time to get rid of Lindsey Graham. This man is so beyond his expiration date in the Senate. Chris writes in, I agree with Tucker Carlson. Probably most of the people who voted for Trump feel the same way. They just don't have the balls to say it. Yep, a lot of people out there saying this. I want to get to more of the personal side of things first with a call from Gail. Good morning and welcome, Gail. Thanks for calling in. Good. Good morning. So you were talking about your cancer. Actually, let me clarify. It's not cancer. It's a benign brain tumor. I don't want to get rumors started here. But go ahead with your story. Well, I'm sorry. I ended up going through cancer twice. And it runs in my family, both parents, all four grandparents, everybody had it. I figure I get it some big old move and forget it because the menstru runs in the family too. But, you know, when people say, have a good day. People tell you that all the time. Right. Yeah? Or maybe you don't ever get that? Oh, yes. But I do. And I say, no, why should I settle? Because every day is a gift from God. So every day that I've been given past all these challenges has made me just extra special grateful for what I've got. Wow, that's really awesome that you have this perspective. I assume that you're cancer-free.

1:08:28

At this point, yes. But I was totally cancer-free after the first time. I hear you. Well, hopefully this time is not the charm. Exactly. We don't need a third time. Gail, thank you for calling in and sharing your story. Yes. So instead of have a good day, I ask for a letter of the alphabet. So give me a letter of the alphabet. I'll give you something better than have a good day. How about C? Okay, and I'm going to do three because I found out, what, eight and a half years ago, and I first started doing this after my first cancer, three is an Asian blessing. So, see, I hope you have a charismatic, carefree, Christ-like day. Oh, that's cool. Did you make a list of these things, Gail? No, but I'm trying to keep my brain from going too much into Alzheimer's. That is really good. You did that very quickly. I'm impressed, Gail. Thank you for calling in and do call again. I so appreciate survivor stories, which is one of the reasons why I mentioned visiting my friend. in Tri-Cities on Monday. It's just an inspiration to see someone still there, still hanging in there. Ernest, good morning and welcome. Hi, Vince. Thanks for taking my call. Let me preface this just a second by, I think the American people, I think the pundits, I think the talk show host, need to determine whether a fanatical group left in Iran, even if we just cut and run. with what I heard today, maybe a couple of thousand drones, maybe at least a thousand more ballistic missiles, and the commitment that they're going to develop a nuclear bomb or nuclear material, even a dirty bomb and wreak vengeance on America or any other country that has done the affront that they feel they have encountered. Now, I think there's a difference here. They don't value life. They value life, not at all. They slaughtered 30 or 40,000 of their own young students and protesters, probably not in retribution, but to make a statement that we're willing to do this. We don't think America has the guts to really take us out because we don't believe they are willing to sacrifice and take casualties. I hear you, Ernest, we're up against the end of the show here, but I very much appreciate your call, and you've made the point that what we're up against. These are people who are very, very stubborn. Have yourselves a great day, and God bless you. Adios. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart.
