Patrick Van Cot, 64 of Sandwich Mass. He's the former director of Plymouth Public Schools Food Service Program. He's been charged in a connection with a long-running fraud scheme. This is from the Department of Justice, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston. It's been going on for 12 years. He allegedly stole food and commercial equipment for use and sale at his private business, the snack shack. The snack shack on Sandy Neck Beach. That's in Barnstam. He, in addition to his job in the Plymouth school system, he operated this seasonal business called the Stack Shack. He began using, ordering. ordering equipment and food purchased with funds, including USDA Department of Agriculture funds. That's why the feds are involved. And using that food and equipment to run snack shack. They're also involved because does this sound like the kind of crime that anybody in Massachusetts law enforcement would get involved in? Hell no. The equipment VanCott is alleged to have ordered with school funds includes two $2,200 refrigerators, a $3,950-2-door freezer, two 12-ounce hot plates, a 24-inch griddle. I like a good griddle. 24 inches, a little bigger than I could use. A char grill, a fry a later, shelving, a sandwich prep table, a convection oven, and a hanging chalkboard. He is also said to have, starting in 2014, have collected miscellaneous items paid for by the Plymouth Public Schools or supplied by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which he then used and sold those items at Snack Shack. Those included condiments, dice chicken, hot dogs, cooking oil, snacks, paper goods, coffee, food products, and other miscellaneous items. He is further alleged to have directed Plymouth Public Schools cafeteria workers to slice at least nine pounds of deli turkey and 4.5 pounds of deli ham, which he sold in various menu items at the Snack Shack once or twice per week, starting 12 years ago. He also has alleged to have ordered over $3,000 in premium burger patties with school funds, which he intended to and did sell in menu items at the Snack Shack. You know what the difference is, Jared, between the Snack Shack and Ilhan Omar's winery? What's that? The Snack Shack actually produced a product. Breaking a Virginia circuit court has just ruled that the state's newly passed congressional map is unconstitutional and issued an injunction preventing the map from being certified and taking effect. Deputies say he displayed a weapon and sexually assaulted a person in South Midland County. Deputies responded on Saturday and detained him. This is 31-year-old Emiliano Rodriguez. Investigators say their findings showed that Rodriguez had a weapon and assaulted the victim. Now, that victim was able to call for help. Bystanders prevented Rodriguez from leaving before deputies got there. Rodriguez was arrested in charge with aggravated sexual assault and was then booked into the Midland County Jail where an immigration hold was placed on him. He's now being held on a $50,000 bond.
