973-7-425 should you wish to be on the program I would be very happy to have you so I'm I'll get back to this since there's there's so much stuff out there and we've been so bogged down and all this immigration stuff and and I don't want to miss out on other things Iran is announcing that the Axis Powers will be engaged in military exercises in the Arabian Sea. And that is China, Russia, and Iran will together be doing military exercises north of Oman in the Arabian Sea. The Arabian Sea connects into the Straits of Hormuz, into the Persian Gulf, and lately there has been Some effort to also label the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Sea, and it's not. The Persian Gulf is surrounded by Iran, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. And then it flows through the Straits of Hormuz into what is the Arabian Sea, which then spreads out into the Indian Ocean. We are moving. military personnel into the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea area north of Oman to begin planning an attack on Iran. You should know that Iran attempted a preemptive military strike on American and NATO facilities. Turkish security forces have arrested a cell working for Iranian intelligence that attempted to spy on the U.S. air base at Inserlink. The report said the Turkish intelligence and Istanbul police detained six people across five provinces, adding the cell was led by Iranian intelligence agents. The investigation revealed that the agents tasked a Turkish citizen who lived in the eastern province of Van with hiring people to take photos and videos of the Inserlink Air Base in Adana, which is jointly controlled by Turkey and Washington for decades. It's a NATO base controlled by the Americans. Iran's parliamentary speaker warned that Tehran could carry out preemptive strikes. Additionally, this Turkish national and an Iranian national attended drone training programs in Iran. The report also alleges that the Iranian national through two companies he owned attempted to ship armed drones to the Republic of Cyprus. Cyprus is divided between the Republic of Cyprus, which is an ally of Greece and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, recognized only by Ankara. Southern Cyprus has been a home for U.S. and British intelligence agencies. So here it appears Iran has attempted to spy on and strike the interlink base in Turkey and attack British and American intelligence operatives in southern Cyprus in the run-up to what could be a strike. On Monday, the... USS Abraham Lincoln, the aircraft carrier arrived in the Arabian Sea. It's now been joined by several additional destroyers. There was already a destroyer in the Persian Gulf. The president of the United States has apparently asked intelligence agencies to help compile a kill list of Iranian agents who are directly culpable for the extermination campaign of protesters across Iran.

More civilians have been killed by the Iranian regime confirmed by the Iranian regime than were civilians in Gaza killed by the Israelis. And you will notice how curious it is that so many of the people who were so appalled at what they called a genocide by Israel, which wasn't, have been very silent about the Iranian regime engaged in the mass murder of its citizens. We now know more than 30,000 Iranian citizens were murdered and more than 300,000 were wounded. And of those 300,000, about 100,000 have now been detained by the Iranian government. Now, there's a point I need to make here. There are 10 million-plus Iranian citizens who oppose the Iranian regime. But there are about 2 million Iranian citizens who deeply and passionately support the Iranian regime. The Shiite Muslim community of Iran is actually the minority community. and they elevated the Ayatollah working with socialist and communist agitators in Iran in the 1970s. Let's step back and give you a little history lesson here. The Shah of Iran, Razapalavi, became the Shah through military instability in Iran, and he governed with a very heavy hand as an absolute dictator, and the economy in Iran under his watch collapsed. But Iran was also at the time, and by the way, Reza Pahlavi's father, I believe it was, had changed the name of the country from Persia to Iran and then regretted it. They've just never changed it back. But Reza Pahlavi was an American ally and a Western ally. And Iran was on the border of the Soviet Union and a very strident American ally. The Soviets at the time helped cede and fester the instability in the Iranian economy. and they partnered with a bunch of leftist agitators in Iran. You have an image today of Iran being this very religious place where the women cover their heads of the like, but Iran of the 1970s was very western, very modern for the time. Women drove cars, women didn't cover their heads. They all had jobs. It had a thriving Jewish community and Christian community. Many of the Persian Iranians and Jewish Iranians had intermarried. There were a lot of relatives who had repatriated to Israel after the formation of Israel. It had a lot of ties to Israel. It was a very western, vibrant society. But it was also crumbling economically, and the Chauveron had a very heavy near-totalitarian hand. And so the... communist agitators and the socialists who didn't like the West and didn't like the economic capitalism and the banking system, among other things, in Iran, had lots of grievances against the Shah, and they allied with the fundamentalist Muslim majority. Because the fundamentalist Muslim majority led by the Ayatollah Khomeini, the original one, not Khomeini, who's there now, were allied with the Soviets.

And essentially Khomeini and the Soviets told the commies and the socialist, if you ally with the Muslim fundamentalists, we will overthrow the shaw and we will get a workers' paradise in Iran. Notice how it's always promised to be a heaven on earth, a utopia, the workers' paradise. It's what the Ayatollah promised. So the socialists and communists who lived in Iran sided with the Ayatollah. They worked with the Soviets who were far closer because they were on the border with Iran than the Americans were and the American allies were. They were able to destabilize. The Shah fled. The Ayatollah took over. In the six months after the Ayatollah took over, the Soviets rapidly armed the Ayatollah to resist a counterinsurgency effort. And the Ayatollah used those arms to exterminate the communists and the socialists.

The communists and the socialists of Iran who allied with the Ayatollah were hunted down by the Ayatollah's regime and exterminated. As many of them as could fled. You don't have to believe me on this, but in Sweden, there is a small Iranian population that lives in an enclave outside Gutenberg, and it is the socialists. who had to flee the Ayatollah after he started murdering their families who had helped get him into power. And you can go talk to those people. They're there. And they'll tell you how wrong they were. The Russians, after the Soviet Union fell, maintained ties to the Iranians. And what the Iranians did, because they are now, you've got to remember, it's a Muslim minority in charge of Iran. And they began building buffer states through funding terrorism. So they are the Shiites and the Sunnis. Don't get along. The Sunnis are the majority of Muslims. The Shiites are the majority in Iran, but the minority elsewhere among Muslims. They began building buffer states in Yemen. which was divided between North and South Yemen after the fall of Soviet Union. They merged. They began building up Hezbollah in Lebanon. They began helping portions of Syria. They began funding over time Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, building buffer states around the world to build out a terror regime that would keep the Israelis and the Americans occupied and out of Iran. And over the last 40, 50 years, Inside Iran, the Ayatollah has spread the wealth around to a lot of leadership positions. So now you've got a lot of people in Iran who make a lot of money from the regime. and their money is predicated on keeping the regime in place. So it's far harder to topple that regime because it's not a figurehead leader. It's a lot of people. The problem is that there's a lot of outside people and inside observers in Iran have noted when the revolution happened in the 1979, you had 80% of the people involved were true believers in the Ayatollah. But now it's about 80% of the charlatans and 20% are the true believers, and we kind of have a sense of who the true believers are. The president of the United States is moving military assets into position. Iran attempted to strike first earlier this week with an attack on American assets in Cyprus and Turkey. Those attacks were stopped by the Turks who do not like the Iranians, by the way. The Turks don't like us a lot of times these days. The Turks really hate the Iranians. Why? Well, there's the Sunni Shiite divide, and there's also the problem of years of antagonism because the Turks have been a Western ally, even against the Soviets, and the Iranians have been on the side of the Soviets. So now they've got the Chinese and the Russians trying to prop them up the Iranians. The president made an offer to Iran the other day said, if you come to the table and talk, we won't wipe you out. But the conditions must be you give up your nuclear ambitions, uranium enrichment, and you wind down the number of long-range intercontinental ballistic missiles you possess. The Iranians have said no.

So the president has done what he needed to do to say, look, I come in peace and I'm willing to acknowledge you, but you've got to do these things. Making Iran an offer, he knew they would refuse. So now they've refused it. The Abraham Lincoln is there. Multiple other. Progress, or multiple other ships are there. Progressive agitators are in the streets of Washington, D.C., opposing this, which kind of signals they know something's coming. It's time to do what we can. The majority of the Iranian people do not support the Iranian regime. They are outgunned. They are outfinanced. And it's just so notable to me that all the people who were so upset about a genocide in Gaza that wasn't are so quiet now. In fact, some of them, ones who amplified the death toll of Gaza and claimed it was a genocide, are now even dismissive of the numbers that even the Iranian government acknowledges are true, up to 30,000 dead and 300,000 wounded. In the protests of the last two weeks, The Iranian government just opened fire on the crowds, sprayed bullets. It's a horrible thing. The Iranian regime is evil. And pay attention to people in the West who are willing to defend it. There are a lot of America haters that are exposing themselves right now on social media. A lot of people in the press exposing themselves as America haters and also haters of people who want freedom, like the Iranian people who want freedom. It sounds like the president's made the decision to try to give them that freedom, and that would be a good thing. Let the missiles fly, Mr. President. Well, first of all, the audience that she's... promoting these two, they already know that. It's what it is, it's a bunch of self-promoting. And then all of these videos that you see on social media with her leading the charge, you know, with the agents, making the arrest and so forth, this is nothing more than, you know, smokeball. She's very conscious about her image and is trying or attempting to build her image. As far as she's concerned, she's number one. That just comes across that someone at that high of a level has to resort to self-promotion, particularly media. You know, you get your, you know, you're looking good, you're dressing good, your hair's long, you're on camera. And it just doesn't come off right.

No, it doesn't. And she's always been like this. And look, the president was casting for roles. And she went out of her way to do what she needed to do to look the part. But, you know, at some point you've got to put competent people in. I'd rather an unattractive competent person than a highly attractive and competent person. And I think the president is realizing that. And he's got some very competent people in Todd Lyons and in Rodney Scott and in Tom Homan. And we just need to let those people do their job. You know, there's also part of the side. story here is how there is a lot of distrust in the Trump administration at the political appointee level for the institutional guys who've worked through Democrats and Republicans alike on loyalty issues. But I got to tell you, at the Department of Homeland Security, you talk to a lot of the senior ICE and Border Patrol people. They did not like Mayorkas and they didn't like Biden. And they held out hoping for a day when they'd be able to do their jobs. That day has arrived and they didn't expect to be sabotaged by Kristi Noem so she could have her 15 minutes of fame on camera. And that's just really, really frustrating for a lot of the career guys who really do believe in the mission the president has set forth. You know him as one of the two senators of the fantastic, great, God bless state of Texas, Senator John Cornyn. Welcome to the show, Sir, how are you? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me. I hope I have a lot of answers for those questions. Well, so I actually, and just so everybody knows, your staff reached out about getting you on, and I wanted to talk to you about the ICE situation with you on the Judiciary Committee, among other things. But I know that you're also on the Intelligence Committee, and there's not a lot you can tell me on this, but I really would like to get your thoughts out of the gate on this situation in Iran as military assets are moving into position. and what you would like to see out of this. Yeah, Eric, I guess you probably saw yesterday we had Marco Rubio in, and of course, the president has drawn a red line. And unlike Barack Obama, I think, you know, people have come to understand that when President Trump says something, he follows through on it. And they're moving in a lot of naval assets and other assets into the region. I know that the secretary, both of war and of state and General Kane, Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, are presenting options along with the CIA director to the president. And you recall the buildup that was required before Nicholas Maduro was arrested and repatriated or brought to the United States to stand trial. It takes a while to get all those assets into place. But it's a much more complex situation than Venezuela, because the logical question is what comes next? Unfortunately, a lot of these authoritarian states, they're essentially police states where the leaders kill all their competition and destroy the institutions that would normally be there and be available once they're gone. But, of course, that's not the case. So the president has a variety of options, of course, working with our Israeli allies.

You know, I'm not sure what's going to happen next. And Marco Rubio was not particularly specific about what he thought was going to happen next, but did say it's going to be complex. Well, I grew up in the Middle East and have a lot of friends who had to flee that regime in the late 70s. So any good thing that comes from it with American power, it's good to see us engage. Now, let's pivot, because you are on the Judiciary Committee, and you've been watching the situation play out in Minnesota with... the Border Patrol and poor ICE getting blamed for everything the Border Patrol is done. And now to see Tom Homan reassert himself in this over the Secretary of Homeland Security, can I just, I just kind of like your thoughts initially on how you see what's going on right now. Well, President Trump sent in the A team when he sent Tom Homan into Minneapolis. You know, he's been applauded by both Barack Obama and Donald Trump for his immigration enforcement efforts. That's sort of a distant memory for Democrats now. But I think, you know, obviously there need to be, circumstances need to de-escalate. But to me, the biggest problem, Eric, is that unfortunately the governor and the mayor are encouraging civilians to interfere in law enforcement operations. And we know, of course, that's led to tragic results, which should never have happened. But unfortunately, that's what happens in some of these sanctuary states and jurisdictions where they don't cooperate with federal law enforcement like ICE. We don't have this problem in Texas because... The typically people who are arrested criminals who are here, illegal aliens are handed off once they've been subject to detainers issued by the immigration customs enforcement, and people just don't see it. It's not an issue. So hopefully Tom Homan will be able to settle things down there. But one thing for sure, President Trump got elected and Republicans got elected, pledging to secure the border and force immigration laws. And that's not negotiable. And I applaud Tom Homan for making that absolutely clear. Now, moving forward, I know that the Senate Democrats say they're not going to vote for the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill, even though immigration has largely been funded through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act through 2028, it looks like its performance and it's going to affect FEMA and TSA and the Coast Guard more than ICE and Border Patrol. What's the status of the negotiations in the Senate right now?

Yeah, you're exactly right. We appropriated $150 billion in the one big beautiful bill to beef up border security and immigration enforcement. So this isn't a question of money or resources. This is really a symbolic move by Democrats to try to polarize the country over immigration enforcement. And again, what happened in these two instances where these... individuals unwisely decided to get involved in a law enforcement action are tragic. There's no circumstance, no doubt about that. But it looks to me now like we're likely to move forward either late today or tomorrow with passage of all the appropriations bills except for the Department of Homeland Security and that there's going to be a short-term continuing resolution probably somewhere between two and four weeks. to negotiate that bill. But the good news is we will have done the lion's share of appropriations bills, which, as you know, is a fundamental and basic function of the government. So just let me ask you something for people who don't understand this. And I myself may not be getting this right. But essentially, if I understand it, like 12 appropriations bills, once they're all passed, then the next time there would be a continuing resolution, it would be based on these appropriations bills and not the Biden budget and appropriation bills. Is that correct? You're exactly right. And it also comes in at a lower number. Actually, I think it's $2 billion savings than the CR continuing resolution of the Biden budget. Yeah, it's just, it's wild to still be working off of that. So, okay, so these will be extended. Now, I know one of the things Democrats have floated is they want another judicial warrant to be able to remove people who have already been determined they need to be deported, but to show up at one of their houses to get them, even though they've been deported, the Democrats will want to bog down the court system. And that just seems like this is a stall tactic to remove illegal aliens. It is, and it's completely unnecessary, and it's not going to happen. They can demand whatever they want, but these are law enforcement officers, ICE are law enforcement officers, and operating based on warrants that have already been issued. Typically, people who are fugitives from justice or people who are, have exhausted. all of their appellate remedies from immigration court, but it simply defied the court order in staying in the country illegally. So, yeah, this idea of requiring another warrant is as a non-starter.

Yeah, I just, the whole thing is, it seems like a delay tactic that we just, we had a tragic situation here, Senator. And for those just turning, I'm talking to John Cornyn from Texas. About two hours to the east of me, an 11-year-old girl was held at knife point along with her 10-year-old sister by an illegal immigrant who raped the 11-year-old. He had come across the border during the Biden administration. No prior convictions run-ins with the law. until this situation. And it just baffles me that the progressive position at this point in America is that a guy like that should not be deported for the crime of coming into the country, which is a misdemeanor. We should have to wait for him to do this violent assault on 11-year-old and rape. I'm baffled by this. Well, unfortunately, their allies in the mainstream media don't make that point. In other words, they act like these are perfectly law-abiding people when, in fact, as you point out, it's illegal to enter the country without authorization. And, you know, frequently these individuals, particularly during the old four years of the Biden administration and its open border policies, we don't know who came into the country because only a percentage of them were actually... detained and then released, but there's a whole lot more, perhaps the worst of the worst, who came in between the ports of entry without law enforcement being able to identify them or detain them. Now, Senator, we got a couple of minutes left. And for those of you just tuning in, this is Senator John Cornyn of Texas. I want to ask you the question that may be difficult for some people to wrap their mind around here. But we've got a, we've got. major races in this country this year. And here in Georgia, we're trying to pick up Jon Ossoff's seat. We've got to play defense now in North Carolina against Roy Cooper. And you're being challenged by multiple people in the Republican primary with various grievances. And it just seems to me that the Republican Party's money is better spent. taking down Democrats and defending from Democrats in North Carolina than having an intra-party fight in Texas where your opponents might not have the easiest time should they win a nomination against you. Yeah, amen. I mean, in 2020, I won my election by 10 points. And if I'm the nominee, I will actually help down-ballot races, particularly for Congress. I know the president's focus like a laser on the House and keeping the majority in the House. We've got five new congressional districts in Texas that we can win if I'm at the top of the ballot. And the problem is with the competition. and particularly our current attorney general, he might not win because he's bringing so much baggage into the race. And we'd at the best scenario would be that we'd spend hundreds of millions of dollars.

that could and should be used to pick up Senate seats in Georgia, Michigan, and New Hampshire. So the primary is on March the 3rd. They're probably going to be a runoff between me and the Attorney General on May the 26th. And it's, I think it's, this is not just about me. Right. Yeah, I just, the amount of resources, I mean, we've, Susan Collins is going to need help in Maine probably. We've got the Georgia, North Carolina, you're right, the Michigan situation. We've got thin resources. We've also got a fight for the House, and it just seems like the efficiency of a Republican majority, particularly in the Senate, where we may have, I mean, you've got issues with the Supreme Court nominations and judicial nominations that. It just makes sense that we should save our money by backing you in Texas than potentially risking a Texas seat. Well, thank you. Thank you for that. Well, I love my job, and I'm proud to represent our great state, and we're fighting like the Dickens to keep Texas red. Well, best of luck to you. Last question before you get out of here, I know you're on the Judiciary Committee, and there are some complaints on the right about the slow pace of lower-level judicial confirmations right now. And how is the Senate proceeding on a lot of these judicial picks and the nominations that have come down out of the White House? Well, as you know, the first year of the president's term of office, the second term of office, we spent a lot of time with non-judicial nominations, cabinet officials, lower level of cabinet officials. We had to change the Senate rules because the Democrats were blocking every one of them and wouldn't even agree to non-controversial ones for no other reason than President Trump nominated them. But now we've cleared that backlog of ambassadors and other... lower-level officials. And so we are turning to the judicial nominations. Chuck Grassley is churning them out on a regular basis, and you're going to see a whole lot more because this is really one of those things that's going to be another part of President Trump's legacy, like the three Supreme Court justices and the huge number that we were able to confirm during his first term of office. And so we recognize that this is not an opportunity we should. we should lose by any chance. Well, yeah, and I hope he gets maybe two more picks to preserve the Supreme Court long term. Senator, I appreciate you stopping by, and to the folks at home, if we lose the Senate and we have Supreme Court vacancies, what we did with Merrick Garland could be done to us, so better preserve the Senate, and that requires supporting John Cornyn in Texas. A majority of voters in the United States and in Texas right now identify as independent. They don't identify as Republican. They don't identify as Democrat. They are not beholden to party label. And the esoteric issue of the Supreme Court is not something that's going to galvanize them. It's going to be the economy. And it's going to be a corruption issue in Texas if... Ken Paxton is the Republican nominee. Now, you can feel free to disagree with me, but I would just point out that when I was raised the alarm bells... in Georgia about Herschel Walker. God bless him, wonderful man, but I knew there was going to be massive baggage and problems. And Trump's supporters are like, nope, this is who we got to get. And get what? You got Raphael Warnock now for six more years who has come out this afternoon and says he will oppose funding the Department of Homeland Security who cares about Lake and Riley. He cares about the progressive activists and the illegal immigrants. We could have won that seat with a different nominee, but it was the scandals and all with Herschel Walker that dragged him down. don't think that in Texas they won't do the same thing. Remember in Alabama, Alabama, the most Republican state in the country, a Democrat Doug Jay Jones went to the United States Senate over Judge Moore. So Texas, you got to get it right. You got to keep John Cornyn. You're at the intersection of politics, news, culture, and current events. I need to tell you that the president has now pinned to the top of his true social account, basically telling the Iranians that if they don't negotiate with him and give him what he wants, that he's coming for him. And, well, it appears that something is coming. You know, I mentioned Raphael Warnock. earlier. Let me see. I think I have this audio for more. You need to listen to this. This is Raphael Warnock, the senator from Georgia. This is not a partisan issue. This is a moral issue. This is about who we are as a nation. This is about whether we are a democracy or are we a place where ordinary citizens are just under the thumb of government. And so, you know, that kind of response. you know, suggest that this is our problem. This is an American problem. And so whether we go into a shutdown is in his hands, the hands of his caucus, I'm not okay with what I'm seeing. And I think there are a lot of Republicans and independents as well as Democrats who are not okay seeing officers shoot a citizen in the back.

The Trump administration's made a change. They sent Tom Homan. Are you not now going to change? No, you're not. And that's the problem. Doesn't matter what the president does. You people will insist on protecting illegal immigrants from deportation. That's the problem, Senator Raphael Warnock. And also why we need to support John Cornyn in Texas so we don't wind up with another Democrat like that in the Senate.
